I regularly saw women being beaten in the streets when in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it was awful. Women in islam are treated like dogs. In the west we accept women as complete equals, in fact in many instances women are superiour to men. Western culture has a long history of women in powerful positions, and women have rights, e.g. if they are raped, abused, assaulted, or wish to leave their husband they can, it is thier right, and how it should be. He should not have backed down because by logic and implication, when they say that Christ is the BEGOTTEN son of God that is saying that God IMPREGNATED MARY PERIOD!!! it's true that most Christians don't actually believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was "impregnated" by God, but that is what the bible verse says..it's just that Christians don't understand what they are reading..that's what the brother means. It says in the Bible that God's spirit or some such, came over her...the explanation is more amporphic, making it seem like she is "impregnated",. the Quranic story of Mary and Jesus is sound, and not confusing or embarrasing.

You have to understand that Arabic and English are extremely coarse and the mere attempt at trying to capture what was transpired from The Holy Quran is just that, a human's attempt. I regularly saw women being beaten in the streets when in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it was awful. Women in islam are treated like dogs. In the west we accept women as complete equals, in fact in many instances women are superiour to men. Western culture has a long history of women in powerful positions, and women have rights, e.g. if they are raped, abused, assaulted, or wish to leave their husband they can, it is thier right, and how it should be. Someone cannot become a 'muslim' it is impossible. Normal people do not even recognise anyone's religion as a defining factor. You can be a person with a certain nationality and that is what you are, religion is someting that you do in your spare time, a bit like a hobby. it's true that most Christians don't actually believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was "impregnated" by God, but that is what the bible verse says..it's just that Christians don't understand what they are reading..that's what the brother means. It says in the Bible that God's spirit or some such, came over her...the explanation is more amporphic, making it seem like she is "impregnated",. the Quranic story of Mary and Jesus is sound, and not confusing or embarrasing.

They also worship diffrently...Know that there is a BIG difference bitween Protestant Christianit and Catholicism. This guy is totally misrepresenting christianity. Yes, the church says mary is a 'daughter of god', like all other female believers in a spiritual sense. there is nothing incestuous about that. Also, the virgin birth. He needs to under stand that christ, despite his seat at the fathers side "humbled himself" as phillipians chp 2 says, in order to bare our burdens. Thats the whole point of christs birth. So, yes in a sense mary is the "mother of god"cause the son assumed human flesh.....

@jamaicanification I'm sorry friend, but kindly provide sound evidence to your Mother of God statement.. Why does the Creator need to be created from his own creation? Nowhere in the Hebrew Bible does it indicate this. This is a all a serious allegation which God clearly has mentioned in Quran: Stop saying Trinity as God is in no need of anything or anyone.
He begets not nor is he begotten. Does this make sense? Read the Holy Quran for further clarification.

Whe we say Jesus is the "begotten son", what we mean is that, through he pre-existed all creation(because it was made through him John chp 1), he came in the incarnate form of a human being through the miracle of the virgin birth(continued)

Let me give you an analogy(though not perfect) to explain what i mean. An Atom is made of 3 baryons. A proton. A neutron, and an electron. all are needed for the Atom to be an Atom. And you would not say you can have an Atom with just 1 of the attributes described above and not the other 2. That makes no logical sense too. In a similar fashion, with the trinity just because we say "Father, Son and Holy Ghost, we are not saying they are 3 gods fused together(continued)

So, in order for God to understand what we go through, he has to become one of us. This is absolutely contradicting to Gods nature as being ''The-All Knowing''. Using this attribute of God, it just proves that Jesus (PBUH) was no more then a messenger.

@Zobaire90 because of this, christians have the term "hypostatic union". This means the union of the human and divine in Jesus Christ. Christ the human being could eat, sleep, be hungry etc..... But his divine nature as the pre-existent logos(which means word of god) means that his divine nature shares the same attributes as the father and the holy spirit

@jamaicanification This is probably the interpretation of a priest or so, but, not the teachings of Jesus himself. However it is still contradicting to Gods nature. You say christ is a human but also divine. I'm not sure how these two can go together. its like saying: an individual is a liar and truthful. this is what lies lead to. When the truth is corrupted, then you would expect cofusions to arise. but i think the best way to understand who Jesus was, is to learn the attributes of God.

After it, that fellowship was lost, and we were cut off from god, condemned to judgement for our wicked thoughts and actions. The only way humanity and the divine could be reconciled is by "the word taking on flesh" so as to mediate before god the father on our behalf

@jamaicanification If a person lied throughout their life, and told a few truths. Still, he does not earn the title of being truthful. Hence, one cannot be a liar and truthful at the same time. We Muslims reject the concept of ‘’being born with sin’’. We believe that Adam ate the apple from the tree, but he was forgiven and had to spend a little time here. That concept of children being born with sin is illogical and unjust. This also contradicts with Gods nature as being ‘’The-All Just''. prt 1

God has proclaimed that each soul is born without sin. Perhaps that is what you meant to say, nevertheless, you out to be very careful at how you construct your reasoning.
