@Ycc145 Replaced graphics card, now it works again. But vista is a ram hog and before 2nd service pack it was horrible. Im using vista for the 6th year, so you may be right about hardware, but my drivers are up-to-date.
Best windows operating systems are Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows xp. Windows 7 aint bad but in my opinion it's worse then xp. Therefore should be called a downgrade :/

So far, I've had several blue screen errors that caused the computer to shut down and some of the folder options available in XP aren't offered in Windows 7. I can't believe Microsoft considers this an upgrade. I never had any problems with XP. I find it comical that everyone hates Vista. Firstly, it's your fault why your computer crashes so many times. You decided to upgrade your smart ass XP to Vista with a 1MB video card (yes 1MB) and a nice Dual i1 CPU. You expect it to work like Windows 7 on the crappiest computer the world has made. I have had Windows Vista since day 1, I have never had a single Crash, my system works pretty much a good as new. No BSOD, no Driver issues. All on a simple Intel CPU with 2.0 GHtz.

I've talked to people who bought new computers with Vista pre installed and said they have'nt had problems. People who upgraded from XP have had more problems. I upgraded from XP and it was a disaster. The computer became so unreliable I finally had to destroy the hard drive and get rid of it.

@Rifalltoo hey, that makes two of us, I use Ubuntu 10.10 at home (this machine used to have Windows XP on it, Ubuntu is SO MUCH BETTER), our school has Windows Vista, once in a while I will boot the computer from my Ubuntu flash drive and work on that, Vista is super bad, lol.

@Rifalltoo That's good, trading XP for 10.04, with Windows it is the fastest when it is a fresh install, then it really slows down because of all the necessary programs that have to run all the time, such as antivirus etc..., Ubuntu never slows down, and if you think about it, Microsoft does make spyware, the WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage) Program, it constantly scans the computer just to make sure that it isn't "counterfeit", half the time that doesn't even work.
Screw vista and microsoft! I was perfectly happy with Windows XP until microsucks dropped support for new games on XP. And I'm not buying or downloading 7 because 1: my ISP cuts off connections for warez and 2: after my ordeal with vista I swore to myself that I'm not ever buying windows again until I really need to. I'm using linux until microsoft make something new and innovative enough to make me cough up £80.

What's wrong with Windows Vista? Sure it has bugs, but it was pretty much a really early version of Windows 7. Once you learn how to personalize it, it works fine. If your computer just meets the requirements to run it, it runs slow (which is mostly the case). If your system is well over the requirements, it works fine. Most people are just too stupid to know how to personalize it to a decent amount.
I have windows vista and it is not really bad at all, it runs fine and looks great. 90% of all windows vista haters are people that have not used it before. The other 10% percent is actually people who know that vista isnt THAT bad. It's not the operating system, it is you're computer. It just takes a little time to get used to windows vista if you are upgrading from windows xp.

@igenther99 I had vista. I used more time on upgrades and restarting than actual work. I don't remember now, if it froze a lot? But the last update took the whole system down, and after restart, it was Win98 theme - no way it would restore to vista theme. Well.... no other thing to do than using Linux - which I have absolutely no trouble with, and I'll never switch back.
For a long time, though I wondered what Microsoft used the money I paid for Vista. Because it surdently isn't for programmers.

Thats because you have a good computer with Vista's last version, however those that bought Vista when it just came out.... have bad luck including myself, Vista is a RAM eater with a 2gb RAM computer it takes around 45 minutes to boot, i just have around 413 mb free to use so i cant open the adobe cs3 suit or the system crashes and i see the BSOTD.Microsoft kinda solved this problem in the last versions but still the "SuperFetch" is a RAM monster that microsoft didnt delete :S

@ionutbreana Now this is funny. Because according to Microsoft, Vista Home Basic, the most basic of the versions, should be able to run on only 512mb RAM. Which is not true. And 1GB of RAM is not enough either, I can asure you. Which means theyre lying their asses off. Then take Liinux Mint, which runs smoothly on my old laptop with 1GB RAM. 3D effects, 3D desktops, Windows effects, all of it. And BTW Linux is free, fast and no viruses ;)

I have windows vista and it is not really bad at all, it runs fine and looks great. 90% of all windows vista haters are people that have not used it before. The other 10% percent is actually people who know that vista isnt THAT bad. It's not the operating system, it is you're computer. It just takes a little time to get used to windows vista if you are upgrading from windows xp.

@igenther99 I had vista. I used more time on upgrades and restarting than actual work. I don't remember now, if it froze a lot? But the last update took the whole system down, and after restart, it was Win98 theme - no way it would restore to vista theme. Well.... no other thing to do than using Linux - which I have absolutely no trouble with, and I'll never switch back.
For a long time, though I wondered what Microsoft used the money I paid for Vista. Because it surdently isn't for programmers.

@salman265 I have vista, and I've ran into so many crashes and error messages. It's a VERY FUSTRATING version of windows. It is SH*T. Very annoying, easier for files to get infected, thus wasting most of my time scanning, and/or using system restore. @GrowingObsession Same here, I got a new computer for my birthday, and when I noticed it had vista, I was like, "OH SH*T, NOT THIS!"

Thats because you have a good computer with Vista's last version, however those that bought Vista when it just came out.... have bad luck including myself, Vista is a RAM eater with a 2gb RAM computer it takes around 45 minutes to boot, i just have around 413 mb free to use so i cant open the adobe cs3 suit or the system crashes and i see the BSOTD.Microsoft kinda solved this problem in the last versions but still the "SuperFetch" is a RAM monster that microsoft didnt delete :S

@ionutbreana Now this is funny. Because according to Microsoft, Vista Home Basic, the most basic of the versions, should be able to run on only 512mb RAM. Which is not true. And 1GB of RAM is not enough either, I can asure you. Which means theyre lying their asses off. Then take Liinux Mint, which runs smoothly on my old laptop with 1GB RAM. 3D effects, 3D desktops, Windows effects, all of it. And BTW Linux is free, fast and no viruses ;)
