I'd Love to have his entire Collection. Being a Over the Road truck driver, his stories ALWAYS help to pass the time on those long runs, If I could find a way to get his entire collection on MP3, I'd toss it onto a flash stick and it'd stay pluged into my radio. Of course, I'd be LMAO the entire trip.
@twelvgage1984 Oh I know! I said the same thing on another of his videos on here. Everyone now adays only out for a reaction and not good quality storytelling.
A lot of southern counties were "dry", not because the people did not want to drink, but they did not want to hurt the "local production" if you know what I mean.
my brother james, lived in southwest louisiana, has been driving log trucks since he was 16 years old. he loved the stories of mr. clower. especially the ones of the wood haulers and truck drivers. we buried my brother january 1, 2010. he died dec 29, 2009 in a loaded log truck accident in southeast texas. i asked him years ago why he did not find other work. he replied that "driving log trucks was his life and what he loved most". he died doing what he loved most. not many will do that.
I been driving truck and running equipment all my life and I can relkate to him.. may he rest in peace now.. not every ione can die doing what they love and wanted to do...
I love 'em all, and they're all famous for good reason : they make us laugh - at ourselves! I remember Jerry Clower from the70's. And Jeff Foxworthy from the 80's. I don't know when Jerry started out, but there were a bunch of redneck clowns with Brother Jr. Samples on Hee Haw, and it seems like that started in the late 60's. Long before that, one good ole' southern boy became famous for his classic redneck comedy routine "what it was was football". Andy Griffith, 1954. Now who's on 1st?
This is my all time favorite story.
