Hunting a deer with a 22lr is the dumbest thing i heard, i realize that it CAN kill it but i would never try! Dont give people ideas, because there tends to be alot of stupid people in this world.....
Hey man great vid. Dnt worry about what other ppl say. I am formor military operater and I never had all one color thing and I can walk up to some one with out them knowing it. Keep it up
@jan1761 Im sorry, you living in your mommies basement isnt a real life, and stop stealing her hand lotion and her victorias secret catalogs for jack off material.
@mogges1 Been to busy with Wilderness Medic training and I havent had time to do anything but study and train. Just got back yesterday and I'm about to get really hot and heavy on the videos
have you ever boiled water in that red container because i bought the same one from walmart but the sticker on the bottom says so not use with hold liquids even though its stainless steel
@cheeselyman I boil all kinds of stuff in it. Don't know why you couldn't boil in it. Maybe you got an insulated bottle, you definitely can't boil in those.
@cheeselyman i assume they say that about hot fluids so some dumbass doesn't burn themselves and sue. the only other reason would be if it were lined with plastic or something. throw it in the fire empty and you will know for sure.
I live in the Pacific Northwest. Our forrests are mostly evergreens. With the ground cover you guys have back east it's a wonder you can sneak up on anything. All those dried leaves on the ground make a lot of noise.
@nbadhorse yeah it is very difficult to stalk in this area unless its wet. You have to mimic the sound of other animals sometimes in order to get close. We just did a sniper stalking camo and field craft course and you should have heard some of the students. You couldn't see them but you could hear them coming from a over a hundred yards, lol.
as I said before--don;t take this the wrong way; but what you are showing here has some flaws that will get you in trouble. You HAVE TO HAVE A SAFE AREA! Do not become a wandering victim trying to live off the land. That's plain stupid and foolish. bring some friends along to watch your back.
Keep On making videos dude--I like the fact that they get people pointed in the right direction..
@Alaskawatchmen What do you think my camp on family property is? You took the purpose of this video 100% wrong. Its sole purpose is not to cover every aspect of what might happen in a bug out. It is simply to show that you can live comfortably with an equipment load out like mine and how much food you might expect to harvest in winter!
@Alaskawatchmen I'd say I did better than good for only having 4 traps, 4 yo yo's and a 22. which is something everyone can afford. The animal body count was the following: 6 squirrel, 3 opossum (1 very large one); 5 fish; 1 large crow, 5 medium birds (pigeon sized); a huge rabbit; tons of wild edibles. All collected by only me in only a few hours a day and all for just me to eat for around 6 days. Could have killed tons more but I just took what I needed!
By The Way: Where did you say that you were going? I didn't hear THAT part.
In the "Stalking" portion of the video: I gotta' tell ya' dude; Ya' make way too much noise when you walk. Maybe you should learn to walk a little softer, and watch your foot placement. I also didn't see you LOOK UP at any point of this "stalking" movement.
@Alaskawatchmen We are in Arkansas on family property; I'm pretty quite, just as quite as the guy with me who was bare foot and literally lived in the woods for two years with NO KNIFE BY HIMSELF! And the part about looking down is completely wrong, I almost never look down except through heavy briars. I have my eyes scanning 100% and I feel with my feet. And I sure as hell did pretty good for being so noisy, bud. Did you check the animal body count in video 3, guess not.
Your statement: "Food is honestly pretty easy--once you get the skill set down" ; I have a real problem with that! You are forgetting a couple of very dangerous facts:
!0 You WILL NOT BE ALONE OUT THERE! Firing your rifle, building a fire, or advertising your presence is a BIG NO NO in tactical survival. Carry enough food to get to your SAFE AREA without attracting attention.
@Alaskawatchmen Thats crap, because I know tons of primitive traps and I could have lived on just my conibears and fish traps that make no noise if I wanted. In the south gunfire is more common than the phone ringing. In hard times the world will not be short of gunfire. I could collect food and never make any noise if I wanted to but not needed. Why is that hard to believe, didn't you watch the videos I ate like a king, by myself with no help! And i can teach it in a short time!
The black belt, knife holster, and handgun holster will stand out like a sore thumb. NOTHING in nature is arranged in a straight line. The fact that you are wearing decent cammies, should not be overcome by the fact that you have dark material against the cammie. Get everything one cammie pattern, or nothing.
@Alaskawatchmen Being seen has very lil to do with the colors that you wear, but how you move and the cover you utilize. I've snuck up to hunters in open fields by low crawling within 10 yds and listen to their conversations and they never knew it in the same stuff you are ragging on. You are way to picky about camo. I know guys who can sneak up on your wearing blaze orange. I'm not dependent on all my gear being synced and tacticool!
The "Shammy WOW" thing is probably good for some survival situations; but as a field dressing it would NOT be a good bandage. You need to STOP the bleeding, not promote it. Any material that "wicks up" blood will not allow the wound to coagulate. I would re-think that strategy...Perhaps you should use "Quick Clot" and an Israeli ladder bandage instead..
@Alaskawatchmen 1. Shamwow is a great bandage material, what do you think gauze does its soaks and I carry powderized yarrow and cayenne powder for quick clot. shamwow's main purpose is not a bandage just one of the many many things its does. Mainly for water procurement. I also use paracord to stop deep wounds all the time, watch our video on it
@Alaskawatchmen 1. I didn't carry any food but a lil peanut butter, I don't need it, its un-necessary weight. I'm a survival and wild foods expert, its how I make my living, if you watch any of my stuff u would know I eat very well. 2. I've snuck up on tons of people with that well faded tan cap its not bright at all 3. And what is wrong with my camo pillow, I got it in IRAQ serving my country. and its comfortable as hell; weighs ounces.
@Alaskawatchmen Wow, Big critique. Try to cover it all. 1. You try and get your family and friends to disappear to the woods to shoot free youtube videos for a week, not easy! 2. Wouldn't head alone if I had the choice. 3. I was living off the land in the winter and its easy. We aren't in Alaska!
I took the time to have a look at your video; and decided to ad dmy comment herein. Please understand that I am in NO WAY trying to say that you are doing things wrong--or that I am right my own assumptions. BUt since you posted this video in a public forum; you leave yourself open to other people critiquing it, and the contents. So be patient and forgiving as I add my own two cents to the mix---It will have to be a a couple different commen sections to make ot all fit:
End of world, paranoid much, yanks are so amusing! When did it stop being about camping out and enjoy nature and become being prepared for shit hitting the fan. PLEASE, stop with the EOTW SHIT! All of ya's!
Frogg Toggs, ftw. Not sure I'd want to look so obvious but I am in the suburbs. Once IN the woods I am sure this rig would be great but I would stick out like a sore thumb trying to flee the city so my rig is much lighter and much more "civilian" looking. No luxuries.
@TheGreenerGardener Of course it all depends on the situation. If it's a natural disaster, I wouldn't worry about blending in but if it is a WROL or martial law scenario I would want to not stick out. In SoCal I am prepared mostly for earthquakes and staying at home.Should I bug out, I will probably just load up my backpack. Gotta be ready for everything though!!! Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
@knifedrago The two knives are made by Fehrman Knives and the large on is an extreme judgement and the small one is the thru hiker. Best knives I've ever used!
My new neoair all season (large..I'm a big guy) weighs a mere 20 ounces and packs down to just slightly thicker than a nalgene bottle and the same height. It was 170 bucks, but it's rated for winter camping. Must have item for a b.o.b. or emergency preparedness gear. There's a vid on it here on youtube. Just search neoair all season.
With respect, you DO need a good pad to prevent conduction and loss of body heat to the cold, frozen ground. Leaves and limbs will do in a pinch, but a thermarest neoair all season is pricey but light, packs small, and gives outstanding warmth and comfort. Other than that, I say right on my brother. Scary how similar our kits are...
@00xanawolf00 Agreed, I never leave home without it! The bulk sucks but I don't care, I love it. I just added that statement in their for the weight junkies and minimalists. That is my standard bug out kit but you should see my end of the world kit, its way better!
bugging out should always be a last resort to any situation. shtf, wrol, teotwaki, what have you. even the ...zombie apocalypse if you are really out there...nice video brother. your vids are always informative and helpful.

How much food do you carry in that heavy bug out bag? (I see lots of gear though)
The Black T-Shirt outlines a nice target while wearing Multi-Cam--perhaps you should change that aspect of the cammie clothing...
The baseball cap that you are wearing is really "sticking out" in the defused sunlight. You might as well wear an orange baseball cap.
A cammie pillow? Really? Come On Now--Yer' Kidding Me right? Did ya' bring yer' jammies too?

It looks more like you are preparing for combat than survival.
Where are your friends? You going to try to do this all alone?
Where is your family--or are you going to leave them to perish all by themselves?
Why in the world would you want to head out into the woods alone? You WILL NOT be alone out there. There is strength and safety in numbers.
How do you plan to "Live Off The Land" in the winter months?
