  • that was beautiful!!!!!

  • @karabellaluna27 ty =]

  • You were AMAZING! :D

  • omg you have an amazing voice, and will be on broadway, you do suit green.. in a nice elphie way of course but i do hae one suggestion, now i know im only 16 but as a performer myself i just think you tried too hard with your movements, elphie only really hand gestures during spells and nt very much, just be elphie and move naturally not how you think a character should mve but overall great job!!!!

  • stop beating urself up ur awsome

  • SHE SOUNDS A HOTTTTT MESS !!!!!!

  • @shemalelikewhoa1 i agree i was really bad back in 8th grade...i dont really like this video that much ill update one soon....

  • way too Idina.

  • amazing

  • Very good! I enjoyed this a lot :)

  • You were fabulous! What makup did u use to greenify yourself?

  • a mixture of green face paint...foundation and lotion lol and ty for the comment =]

  • very good, except for a few vocal mistakes. you have a very good voice, with vocal training you can be another idina. keep up the good work.

  • that was soooo amazingg!!

  • i think you are amazing x

  • yout sing very good!

but sometimes the power in your voice left!

but at the end it is very great!

    respect ;)

  • Mamiii!!!!!!! love ur voice,so much,i love it,ur the best amor, u got my vote to be the SuPa! SiNgAr!

    i love u amor, ur the best,as i always knew,and know.

  • You are adorable with your comments, and I got a bit teary-eyed when I read your last comment about your teacher (I used to teach music!). I think you have a wonderful future ahead of you! Way to go!

  • ty so much =]

  • you were good! but i was like "wtf?!?!" when you rearanged the song lol.. then i realized you were doing this on your own. but your good

  • wow! great job. this is amazing!

  • you are soo good this is the best version yet :0 i cryed at the end and had goose bumps you are amazing xxx

  • -__-

  • you were amaizng

  • I thought it was great, but for me you put in WAY too many comments pointing out what you considered to be your flaws (even in the description!)- I didn't even notice half the stuff until you pointed it out! Never feel like you have to explain yourself to those youtube viewers that pick out every possible mistake or note they don't think sounds right- according to them. Great job!!!

  • wow nice voice...i just saw wicked about a week or two ago and right now its in a tie with Phantom for my favorite broadway show

  • it is really really good, well done =]

  • Holy crap!

    Amazing!

    Simply amazing!

I'd like to see what other Wicked songs you can sing. =)

  • thnx =]

  • This is fantastic !! The best amateur performances i have seen :D have you considered a career on broadway?? failing that, Wicked the Musical itself :P

  • Tis not bad, timing off alot, but it's quite good. The bubbles were really annoying though.

  • I LOVE YOUR VOICE ITS AWESOME!!!

  • wow! You are amazing!

  • ahh!! thanx =] ur amazing! =P

  • Wow I love the green makeup and the costume!!! of course your VOICE is super super great!

  • Yeah it was a pain to deal with...but it all turned out good in the end. =] thnx ;)

  • your welcome. lol so how old were you in this video, and how old are you now??

  • i was 14 now im 16 =]

  • were singing this in our choir class.. and it got stuck in my head so im looking it up. and i saw this video.. u have a GREAT voice.. hit ALL the high notes.. and i thobught it was great.. 2 thumbs up :D

  • haha thanx ;)

  • Amazing. One day you'll be on Broadway!

  • thx a bunch! =]

  • hey! you're pretty good. get some lessons and we'll see you yet on a broadway billboard!!

  • aww thanks a bunch =]

  • ur welcome!!!

  • Don't critcise yourself too much. You were nervous. Sing from your diaphram. when you hit the big belting notes, open your mouth like you're going to yawn. Your facial expressionals were good. and it's also really hard to work with that kind of stationary mic. all in all you did really well! Just take some lessons and you are sure to go far!

  • thx for the positive critisism...ill be sure to do that next time =]

  • Your voice has a beautiful quality. WIth some vocal lessons you will only get stronger. The only thing I regret is that the emotion in your voice doesn't translate to your body. The tick in your hands is distracting! Work on channeling that energy into your intent, otherwise you're just wasting it--and this song needs all of it! The breath and the ear will come in time and practice. Otherwise great effort!

  • Three words: YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

Seriously, if you ge tthe opportunity, try out for Broadway. You belong there. No joke, my friend. You NEED to be there. Your voice is amazing.

I've seen several videos on YouTube of many talented girls singing this song...but yours outshines them by millions.

I like it, actually, that you didn't copy any particular Elphaba exactly. You put your own charm to the character. :)

    Good job! :)

(Now I wanna hear you do "No Good Deed". :) )

  • aww thank you soo much =] ill work on trying to do that one soon...but it might be a while bc im not that active on youtube. but ill work on it ...thanks a bunch it really means alot =]

  • You're welcome. :)

Your voice is really strong and good... :)

Yeah, whenever you get around to it. I can wait a little longer if the reward is hearing your spectacular voice. :)

    Good job!!!

  • FUCKING AMAZING

  • THANKS! =]]

  • awesome! it was great, and even if you do need practice, you're off to a fabulous start.

I did something like this last year at our choir variety show, only I sang Think of Me from The Phantom of the Opera and someone's grandma helped me re-create the Hannibal gown for it. so when I read about the gasps when you walked out, I know what you mean. :]

I think I'm going to be doing this song sometime soon, though...

if you don't mind my asking, where did you get your backing music for it?

  • i downloaded the karaoke off limewire and edited it with my mixer =]...ty for the comment...means a lot

  • That was awesome :]

  • ty soo much! =] I'm glad u enjoyed it.

  • Yeah, you go girl! this was so good! I hope you become a broadway singer. You're really good at it, you just need a little more practice. But not much. I agree that you are off to a good start.

  • thnx it means alot =]

  • You actually have a REALLY good sense of pitch. It will take you far. Keep on singing, you're off to a heck of a start.

  • ty so much...=]

  • nice try hunny, not a fail, but not a win

  • She realy reminds me of Idina Menzel! Well done

  • TY she is my idol! =]

  • You go girl woooooh!! That was a brilliant rendition, i really like your unique tonality and riffs throughout the piece, superb!! Your probably sick of hearing this but if you stablish a strong core, and develop your chest voice your ability to project dynamic wise will greatly improve and make it easier to change keys quickly!

Also dont dwell on hand movements...some people think it all has to be acted to a certain degree but really jsut go with how your body responds to the music! 5/5 :-)

  • thank you so much =]

  • Fantasic job, other than the diaphragm thing!

  • u are suuuuuch a good singer!!!

  • okay seriously...this is the cutest defying gravity video ive ever seen! kudos. :]

    loved it.

  • wonderful job!

i agree with teh others on diaphragm

    otherwise REALLYYY GOOD

there was only 1 flat note i heard

I am a hugemungous fan of wicked as well

    <33

    wonderrrrfffuuuulllll

  • Maybe it's just your voice, but if you used a bit more of your diaphragm, you might have better luck reaching the notes to their belt-worthy potential.

    Otherwise, amazing.

  • hi

    mynameiskenny

    urthe#1

  • You're really good. The only constructive critism I could give is to relax a little bit as you looked a little uncomfortable, althought that's to be expected for your first ever public performance. Well done, great job.

  • Congratulations, that was wonderful! Such a difficult song, and you did a great job! Good luck for your future career on Broadway, though with a voice like that I doubt you'll need it :)

  • great!

  • MY FREAKY HAND MOVEMNTS WERE WICKEDLY AWESOME!!! i know if i ang this for a talent show i'd get laughed at

  • Wow! That is such a hard song, and you did an amazing job!!!!! You should definitely go for Broadway, I think you can totally make it! You are reallllllly great!

  • im glad you enjoyed it and ty for the encouragement, it means a lot =]

  • that wasn't half bad. i teach vocal belters at my old high school. just take a bigger breath at the end and push more from ur diaphragm. but congrats, that was good. =]

  • ty soo much! I will deffinately try that ;)

  • hey not bad i sang this and i know how hard it is

  • ur belting's pretty g00d, but hit da n0tes

  • I don't care what your anotations said, like "that was wimp" e.t.c THAT WAS ACTUALLY PHENOMINAL! For your first public performance it was out of this world. Your voice is stunning. You reminded me of Idina Menzel so many times. Yes sometimes you were out of time with the backing track, only just though, no wonder, you must of been soooo nervous, but you just held the note longer and it worked. :) Your a fantastic. I tell you with passion and talent like that, you are going to make Broadway!

  • ty soo much...that means alot..=) I am such a perfectionist and when i mess up i lose confidence easily. but ty u it means alot keep in touch im posting more videos soon! its been like 2 years since this performance =)

  • WOW that was soo great I love the costume, the green makeup, and your singing of course is awesome. TERRIFICO!!!

  • Just you wait, one day soon you will be up on that stage belting out songs that you never could have dreamed of. You did so great and I cannot wait to see you up there living the dream. Good Job!!

  • yea nice job! a lil pitchy here and there but no one is perfect! keep workin =)

  • omg your so talented! and as well halarious! ur little speechbubbles were hysterical! but seriously u deserve to be on broadway, because even without the mechanics and the whole fancy cray u broguht chills to my body, ur extremely talented and i have no doubt u will be on broadway in the future.

  • ty so much for that. I am glad u enjoyed the video.

  • You did a great job and you made a really adorable Elphie! Never stop reaching for your dreams!

  • you will go far im chris from broadway across america the only thing is the hand movements were not so great but other than that your good

  • Really Oh wow ty, singing in broadway productions is my dream, thanx that means alot.=D

  • Very nice. I think your comments you added were dead on. Overall, really good. You should be proud of yourself. Keep up the good work.

  • yeah seriously how old are you?

  • I am about to turn 16, I performed this in 8th grade when i was about 14 or 15. =)

  • how old are you?

  • I am about to be 16 i performed this in 8th grade so i was about, eh...14 or 15. =)

  • it was amazing, the only problem with it was you sped up a lil bit at the end but it still sounded amazing, i loved it xxx

  • ty, I kno i sped up, the ending was the hardest part of the whole song bc its the highest belt i have ever had to do and it is really difficult so i got nervous and messed up. ;) But I am glad u enjoyed it.

  • i think why you couldnt do great hand movements was beacuse you could barely move the mic wasnt wirless yknow

  • yea thats another reason ha thanx

  • Very very nice voice!

  • Great voice!!! Although I do adree with the comment about the hand movements (they're not really wicked or green). Also, you seem to be off beat.

  • Ty, yes i dont deny one bit that my hand movements were stupid and the makeup on them kept rubbing off =P. I used the music from the soundtrack bc i think all the different instruments help set the mood and feeling and you get into it more and bc of that it was harder to stay on beat bc it is faster than wat i am used 2. But thanx for ur comment I really like knoing wat i am doing wrong so when i post new videos they can get better and better =D

  • That was really good!

  • TY so much! =D

  • Actutally, I thought you did well!

your voice was amazing. IT's the closest I've heard to Idina from any girl performing it for school! The movements were fantastic, idk why people think they're bad. they were so elphaba!!

    Good job!

  • OH ty that means alot to me! =D

  • Pretty good voice, but vocal training will make it amazing

the hand movements and facial expressions were awkward, but that can easily be fixed by just practicing in front of a mirror

overall, great job, and keep up the good work!

  • Yea, I started taking lessons after this, it really does help. I look back at this a laugh my head off. =)

  • Amazing voice!

    need a little training

and the movements r NOT the best

  • That was brill!

    you've got good protential!

i think it was amazing, good on you!

  • umm....that was ok...u have a good voice. u need to get training but it wasnt too bad. try a song that u can sing really well! dont try and scream soo much, use your voice well, you have a great one =]

  • good voice, just needs a bit of training, so it seems as if your not screaming (which gets you out of tune) but belting, which you're practically there. But really good for a fifteen year old! I hope you post more videos up by the time you're a senior cause you're gonna be great. Also, you have a tendancy with your hands, that if you notice, you make the same movements with your hands over and over again, and it becomes a bit overbearing and monotonous. Fine job though.

  • ty! lol =)

  • Awesome! A naturally gorgeous voice!

  • 8schneider .. How Iss She Gonna Make More movement When The Microphone Wont Move With Her... :S :L

Annd I Thoughht Thatt Wass Goodd mustt Off Been Scary In Front Off Themm Peoplle lol..

  • Voice was super but your voice and movement needs work.

  • Goodness, you have an amazing voice. You did seem a bit nervous, but that's only natural, even Idina was nervous performing opening night on broadway - who wouldn't be? You have a lot of talent though, keep it up. :D

  • This performence is a solo one in my wicked book it has this on defying gravity so she is not singing the wrong bit its for solo. I sometimes sing the solo.

  • why did u start to sing a part from "the wizard and i"? Thats not in defying gravity lol

  • bc i dont have a glinda with me and i created it this way so it could be a solo, if you noticed the whole duet between them is gone and i edited the music to go righ into the "So if you care to find me" part.

  • oh...ok..jw, ur pretty good

  • I think you were great but maybe you should think about taking voice lessons you were a little airy and please next time you sing wicked the play is a lot of movment and expression i've seen it 2 times and i'm going to see it a third time so take my adive and i'm also in ICC (Indianapolis Childrens Choir) Sorry if you think i'm being mean and study the song more

  • No i dont find you mean at all. I actually did this song almost 2 years ago and i have taken lessons from a really good teacher and I realize now how stupid i look and sound i make alot of mistakes in this song but i have gotten alot better and hopefully i will be able to put up a bunch of new videos soon so you can see how i have improved =)

  • good job, you're sort of "airy" How old are you?

  • thanx what exactly does "airy" mean lol im 15 now

  • your awsome

  • thank you =)

  • u r amazing u should try out for alphaba on broadway when u have the chance u r amazing omg! very good great job!

  • uu look soooo nervous. you definately needs more practice

  • ur amazing. great job! keep on going. maybe u could end up on broadway or even betr.

  • Wow, you sounded amazing. One thing though - the unclenching and clenching of your hands was a bit distracting. Other than that, it was great.

  • i kno i have said this to many people who watched this, my hands were sweating and getting sticky from the paint so i was clenching them out of a nervous habbit i guess haha, i think it is hilarious i just cant stop laughing at how stupid it looks hahaha but thanks for the comment. =)

  • Your really good! :).

  • love your costume.

  • u used the wrong words

  • Duh. She's singing the solo lyrics of this song since there's no Glinda with her.

Anyway, not bad all. If you just get over your nerves you could really rock this song.

Good luck with whatever you do next. : )

  • you did REALLY well! i hope to see more of your talents on here! (preferably wicked)

  • thanks i will try and upload some recent songs

  • you did good. It was a difficult song, which you did well with.

  • thanks you! ^.^

  • Hey this is a very hard song and this isn't a bad bash at it at all. I sing it in our dance troupe (Its on my youtube if you wanna see) And I know it's a very hard song as it jumps around a lot. But yeah the hands are a wee bit distracting - also your brooms upside down lol. You have some nice tones though and just watch your timing near the end

  • greate voice...but bad acting...MUCH MORE EMOTIONS!!!! and don't use your hands that much...

  • thanks i kno i was so nervous i kept messing with the makeup on my hands and it looked verry amusing when i watched it haha..but i am in drama club now so hopefully i will get a chance to learn some better acting ;P

  • very good, you were not that off, i liked it, great voice

  • thank you I am glad you enjoyed it! =D

  • aawh, you were so good. :D

  • thank you =)

  • Who cares if your off at least you had the courage to get up there unlike some of there lions get it well yea these cowardly lions here but i think you did great :)

  • haha thanks =)

  • Your amazing!

  • You Are Way Off At The End.

  • i kno, i have already admited that =P

  • This just amazing! You have a great voice! I was singing it in my head with you and at the end, i couldn't reach it but you could and i was like, wow she should be on broadway!! No joke!Your amazing! please post more singing videos!

  • aww thank you i will, i have a talent show on jan. 30th, im singing the wizard and i =D

  • That was incredible! I wish I had even half the talent you have!

  • Gurl....i would have been so nervous!!! you did a good job, was the audio off or something? it sounded a little fuzzy and im not talking about the singing, incase you were thinking that.

my only suggestion and its not bad, but whenever i perform i take a couple of deep breaths and imagine that im actually there-- i say this because you had me but then you lost me in your expressions and let your nerves get the best of you. i liked it though!! keep it up!1

  • idk if the audio was off the school equipment was crap but eh i could have done 10 times better if i had just calmed down lol I'll keep that in mind next time i perform which will be soon, i have a talent show coming up and I am singing the wizard and i my favorite now lol!!!

  • lol...i wish ya luck!!!

i wanted to say before that you added this on my birthday and u made me soooooooooo feel special!:) just saying!!!

  • oh wow your welcome lol =D

  • lol...:)

Hope you had a kool New Year!!!

  • wow that was ace, you make the high notes look easy from chest voice, i'm wayy jealous!! hehe, just watch your timing on the end part coz you're going faster than the music, but no-one will have noticed hehe. good job!

    xx

  • wow thanks for the comment, ya its not easy though it takes serious control which was hard at the end you can tell i screwed it up on the first me lol but i was trying to get it over with cause i was running out of air and it was hot as hades in there lol

  • You cracked a teensy bit on the first me, but other than that it was fab. Are you having voice lessons? Because a good voice teacher will teach you how to control belting as to not hurt your voice.

It was great for someone whoes never had voice lessons though... brilliant in fact. =] Well Done

  • thank you yes I cracked all over the place but I just started taking voice lessons in september so I'll put up more

videos to see If I have improved.

  • wow! ur awesome! wicked awesome! ur like the little version of Idina!good job! brava! I wouldn't be suprised if u ended up on broadway or famous or somethinn becuz it looks like you are already on ur way there! UR THE BEST BEST BEST young person I have seen sing this song!

    -0zian34 ;-)

  • thank you so much! I really hope some day i will get to play elphaba, or glinda i dont really care i just wanna be on broadway SSOOOOSOOO bad! lol But thank you so much for the comment! ;)

  • aww you poor thing u had to stand there for so long before the school got its act together and started playin the music for you but OMG such a great voice keep on rockin

  • thank you, ya i was like waiting....and waiting.... ha...good times....=)

  • wow, that seriously made me cry!
