This is my favourite band of the last 5 years. Their voices are extraordinary The vocalblend wicked, their songwriting of unheard quality, their sound as folkrockpunk as you want it, the drums subtle loose and original, the basspedal and distorted acoustic guitar-wow! And banjo and ukelele are made rocknroll for the first time in my book. Worldclass. And happy to be small. How cool can it get?
The Canadian music scene is where it is at. Yes, there are many many great artists coming out from America, artists who are independent and not part of the mainstream American music scene.
The American music scene (Mainstream.) has gone to the gutter. The Canadian music industry was booming in the 70s, 80s. It isn't so strong now I don't think. At least not as booming with new talent. (Or maybe we're just not broadcasting Canadian material enough.)
@ArtBeatsNB Agree 100% But if this band is any indication... we are making a comeback! The thing with back in the day... mainstream music was good music... now it sucks... and I personally hate the fact that Justin Beiber is our musical ambassador for Canada... Ughh...... Its bands like this that need the attention... Hey Rosetta... Metric.... etc... these are the bands that I want to be thought of first when people think of canadian music.
@godreau9 If it makes you feel any better, a majority of people I know (in the States) don't regard Justin Bieber as the Canadian musician ambassador. I freaking LOVE Metric, Arcade Fire, etc.... and the Winnipeg Folk Fest is the greatest musical convergence in all the land! :)

We can learn from the mistakes in America, and make our music industry pure and great!

They remind me of Blind Melon a little bit. Especially the singer's voice.
