If Brock lesnar has recovered from the surgery and his illness and back to his best when he first burst onto the scene he will defeat Alistair with ease. Back then he was able to take chair shots without falling down, doesn't get knockout easily by just punches and is able to pick up, slam people and F5 people like the undertaker with ease back in his wwe days. Overeem is taking a HEAVY amount steroids to get to the size he is. Of course Lesnar takes them too but no where near the level of Overeem. Overeem has a relatively small frame compared to Brock so he had to work (roids) extra hard to match his size. That's why he played those games with the tests. With such a large amount of gear in his system it took extra long to get clean.

Lesnar was already pretty big from collegiate wrestling. He did get bigger in WWE but that is standard for them, it's for aesthetic and dramatic effect.
Lesnar's frame is naturally HW, he has to cut to make 265 and that's without 'roids or whatever else.
Overeem has a smaller frame, you can see it in the chest and hips. Before he added all that muscle he was very slender.
Notice how Overeem's pace is slow and methodical, he would gas otherwise.

I really feel like this fight is much more a test for Overeem than the next fight against JDS for the title.
JDS is a standup fighter; who (if Overeem wins) will be facing the very best standup BY FAR in the UFC heavyweight division. I'm confident Overeem is going to destroy Brock, but I'm looking forward to how he will demolish JDS .

Overeem has been KO'd many times during his career, some by mediocre fighters. He has a weak chin. I don't think he'll make it past Brock, but if he does he won't survive an exchange with JDS. JDS will only have to touch him once and Overeem is done.

Overeem is taking a HEAVY amount steroids to get to the size he is. Of course Lesnar takes them too but no where near the level of Overeem. Overeem has a relatively small frame compared to Brock so he had to work (roids) extra hard to match his size. That's why he played those games with the tests. With such a large amount of gear in his system it took extra long to get clean.

Lesnar was already pretty big from collegiate wrestling. He did get bigger in WWE but that is standard for them, it's for aesthetic and dramatic effect.
Lesnar's frame is naturally HW, he has to cut to make 265 and that's without 'roids or whatever else.
Overeem has a smaller frame, you can see it in the chest and hips. Before he added all that muscle he was very slender.
Notice how Overeem's pace is slow and methodical, he would gas otherwise.

If Lesnar has improved his stand-up and has become a better all-around MMA fighter I could see him beating JDS. Certainly not in an all-out stand-up war, but if you consider that Nelson lasted all 3 rounds with JDS, and Brock has a great chin as well, Brock could take JDS down and win a decision or with GnP.

@ufcvlad Even if Lesnar is a 100% healthy like he claims, all that time after surgery he had spent on getting back in shape and "learning how to walk again" at the gym, not on improving his striking or any other aspect of his game..Lesnar is a super athlete and a phenomenal wrestler with the strength of a gorilla, therefore I'm sure that he has all the chances to beat Overeem or anybody in the HW division for that matter, but not on Dec 30th. That's way too early!

@ufcvlad His stand-up was fine except against Carwin and Cain. He does need to improve his stand-up but it's far from 0. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
As to what it's at now we don't know. As to how much he's recovered we don't know yet. How has the time off affected him? We'll find out the answers to all of these questions come fight day.
If he does perform well and wins, then he will be the first athlete to come back from that surgery and perform at a high level.

@whole27 If Brock can effect his takedown then he has a great chance.Overeem was knackered against Werdum and strangely lethargic in the standup.Also Lesnar fights at a faster pace than Werdum.Assuming Brocks healthy and well prepared,Alistair will need to finish the fight early if possible as he will be taken down later on at will and will get fatigued.

Brock's two losses are from him coming out crazy and trying to finish it fast, Mir 1, and Cain. He corrected his mistakes on the Heath Herring and destroyed him. Overeem in his last fight against Werdum looked awful! He was gassed out in the 1st round but was able to get a decision on a weak fight. So if Lesnar can just slow it down and stick to what he does best (wrestling) then he should have no problem winning this!
