• nice music. do you have piano notes for that, thanks

  • Angrylittlegirl's DHMO and gullible videos are about basing your beliefs on things you can test so you can tell when someone is trying to mislead you.

They don't say that we are gullible if we check our facts and they are not about denying what may exist.

But I can't tell the difference because I am a scientifically illiterate philosopher!

  • Please visit my new site at hotformarinas for my commentary about the *Gullible* video. It ends with an 's'.

My commentary is under my name and that's me playing the drums.

  • I might be wrong, but i believe that girl has a long way to go before she realizes there are no retards outside of her, only inside of her.

  • she doesnt like people questioning her, but i feel that many people write your opinion off as soon as they hear "atheist", and that can be a cause of such bitter backlash. i think religious people need to hold themselves to the same standards that they request of others.

  • first i would like to thank you for responding homebound, most people do not. which usually leads me to believe i was right about them. so i do appreciate your response however you said she's not a hypocrite maybe she is just disingenuous isn't that like saying she's not a whore she's a slut? is there really a noticeable difference there? not that i even really disagree with your main point of the video she doesnt like people questioning her,

  • so what im trying to say is that you as well have been misleading in your video. You are not trying to point out her double standard so much as you are trying to discredit someone who doesn't share your belief. and just a personal observation, i believe that someone who tends to quote other people, often has nothing to say themselves. and you can quote me on that.

  • The wisdom of the wise and the experience of the ages are perpetuated by quotations. - Benjamin Disraeli

I pick my favourite quotations and store them in my mind as ready armour, offensive or defensive, amid the struggle of this turbulent existence. - Robert Burns

It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. - Winston Churchill

  • ;-D

  • if you spent half the amount of energy you do trying to tear down a girl who is probably in the range of 17 years old, on analyzing the religion you seem to endorse, you just may become an atheist yourself. Also you say you doubt her real reason for creating the video whether it is gullibility or religion. just as i doubt your responses are merely trying to point out an unjustified hypocrisy in your mind, as it seems you are trying to portray it.

  • starvingartist94: I truthfully spent a very short time, relatively, watching (& rewatching) ALG's vid and responding. I have spent over forty years trying to understand life, the universe & everything; so I do not think you are correct. I have chosen Jesus, not atheism.

As for your analysis of my vid, I do not think ALG is a hypocrite, just misguided (or disingenuous).

Thanks for posting though; have a great weekend!

  • Wait, what? What does this comment have anything to do with this video?

He was talking about the fact that she gave no one any choice, and no matter what anyone did, they were an idiot according to her ( not her standards ) and how her ulterior motive was to make an attack on religion.

Maybe you didn't take the time to read it all the way through. Maybe you just got disinterested and assumed you knew what the rest was talking about.

You know what they say happens when you assume..

  • You do have a choice. You can believe in God. You can believe in religion.

Her point was that you could be susceptible to manipulation because you can't test for the existence of god, heaven and hell, and other religious dogmas with facts.

  • That is why leaders with bad intentions can use religion to prey on people.

  • How are you going to test it if I say you will go to heaven if you join my church and pay me $1,000,000. Televangelists do things like this regularly.

  • She makes very profound points. But she is badly misunderstood because she is so young.

  • Dear Homebound Pilgrim, I have a question for you. ALG's video says we our susceptible to manipulation if we subscribe to beliefs without checking their facts. But we can't check our facts when we subscribe to religious dogmas. There is no contradiction.

What facts can you use to truly test God's existence?

  • Sorry for the delay in this reply.

For me, it all starts with Jesus. I approach the Bible from a Christological interpretation; so if I can accept the Bible I can accept Christ as my Savior (and I do).

    I hope that helps.

  • pachabelle canon!! loved the music nd you had a lot of agreeable things to say, that is, I mean other people might feel the same way lol

  • Angry Little Girl made a legitimate point. Claims such as *I believe in blue unicorns* are not science because we cannot use evidence to prove them false.

  • You don't get it. This is Angry Little Girl's point.

According to Chris Horner's *Thinking through philosophy*

*[Karl] Popper also uses the idea of falsifiability to demarcate science from non-science. The claims advanced in other spheres such as religion (*God loves you*)... are usually unfalsifiable, where they are not actually falsified; nothing is allowed to count as evidence against such claims. This is what reveals them to be essentially unscientific.* (Page 109)

  • Why does her video rub so many people the wrong way? To say the least, she's the most POPULAR LITTLE GIRL on the TUBE. ♣

  • haha lol, nice

  • this is a great video.ignore the angry atheist mob(no disrespect)...I understood everything.Nice examples and quotes :)

  • Dude but Seriously. Video Response??

  • Sorry...huh???

  • Don't worry bout it.

  • Religious institutions might not know anything about the observable universe , but they sure understand ppl, amazing if you beleive them or give them the benefit of the doubt they will convince you, magic of a sort

  • I am afraid that I can no more lump all "religious institutions" together than I can generalize about ALL atheists, but I agree that there are bad ones out there that are not benefiting the people that they claim to serve.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and sharing your views.

    Take care!

  • Now that science has invented magic we can do anything.

  • many men many many many many men wish harm on this girl, i worder why, i think she is adorable and trying to figure out the world, shes smart, too smart for her own good it seems, but all these silly videos poking fun at her are even worse, who the fuck are these ppl!! bitter tortured souls who smell weakness and want to devour her

  • It is sad that anyone should feel a need to "attack" ALG. I sincerely feel sorry for her. The fact that her video was featured, exposing her to a larger audience that she probably never expected to see it (which is a warning that we should ALL be careful what we post), was probably the last thing that she was expecting. You are correct that many have been hateful in their comments, and it is possible that some acted out of a fear of weakness in their own faith.

  • However, other comments (I flatter myself to include my own videos) were posted simply to share our own honest views on what she had said.

I honestly wish her no "harm".

  • thank you for saying what you say so eloquently.

I felt so muzzled and furious and insulted when I saw her video.

Your reply is graceful, true and uninsulting. Beautiful music too.

  • Amen, HomeboundPilgrim. Amen. I couldn't agree with you more.

I stand by you all the way.

  • word

  • You own. Nicely done.

  • You went about this issue in a refined and classy matter. For that you get a 5, which I cant figure out why this video has not receved perfect score.

  • Thanks, to everyone, I appreciate the kind words and support.

    Have a fantastic weekend everbody!!!

  • great video

    good point

    thanx for being our voice

what song is that it's really nice

  • good job

  • HomeboundPilgrim. I just watched your video. It was positively great.I'm not computer literate enough to do a video of my own,and truthfully after watching the offensive vid from ALG I was just too flustered to try to respond to such ignorance. Thank you Pilgrim and God Bless You.

  • What is the music? I've always loved this tune, but have never asked the name.

  • Pachelbel's Canon in D Major

  • Well put, pretty much shes an internet emo. Claims everyone who isnt like her is a conformist, and wants you to conform to her way of life. She spouts no form of individuality or creativity, just insults and an even more ignorant way of life.

  • When you say God bless, are you Christian? If so, I congratulate you, as making a positive statement. If you're not, I still say thanks for shunning ALG. Oh yeah, just because people are illiterate DOESN'T mean they're gullible. It only means they don't read often. Look at Einstein. He FAILED High School, dropped out, and became known as one of the greatest minds of this century. Thanks!

  • I am a Christian; but what I found so sadly uninformed about ALG's video is the way she dismissed "religion" as if there were only one thing, or as if one faith is the same as another.

That just strikes me as intellectually and ethically lazy.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and sharing your views!

  • Actually Omalgosh, illiterate means you can't read, but it can be loosely used to describe an ineptitude of many skills such as describing a person who can't use a computer as computer illiterate.

  • Also, about Einstein, it is highly unlikely that he was an infrequent reader. Rather, the fact that he dropped or flunked out of school yet dominated the century intellectually suggests that he did most of his learning on his own, probably through books and other published works. He simply either did not fit the style of learning offered by his school, or more likely, he considered himself intellectually superior to it.

  • oh yes that was lovely

  • OOOHH!! And you even pulled the big guns and quoted the brilliance himself.. Shakespear and the tragedy of hamlet. For that sir i give you 5 stars..

    WELL PLAYED.

  • Thanks.. lol love the music

  • Homebound, your video here was really great! AngryLittleGirl made me, well, angry. The whole point of her video was to attack religion. Then she goes and makes up a response which claims it was just her own opinion. Well, as you pointed out, it wasn't formatted as an opinion. We really oughta start calling her AngryLittleLiar.

  • Thanks for the comments hamsterama, I truly appreciate you stopping by.

As for AngryLittleGirl, at this point I am more inclined to simply ignore her; as she is not open enough to accept video responses, and she has now taken down her own response video trying to justify what she said.

  • I'm sure that you, like myself, have more important things to do than worry about ALG and her videos any longer; and, if nothing else, I truthfully feel that I must be at least a little grateful to her for motivating me to finally upload SOMETHING here on YouTube at last (even if they were only text vids).

    Lol ;-)

Anyway, thanks again, and God bless!

  • Yep, I agree! ALG gave me a couple hours of amusement today, but now I don't care about her anymore, either. Although it sure spawned a lot of hilarious response videos! And nobody will remember her anyway a couple days from now. The featured videos are always get circulated.

  • Question: what is the name of the song you used here? I can't think of it at the moment.

Also, the phrase 'the lady doth protest too much methinks' means that the person is protesting too much because they are actually guilty of the thing they are protesting about. Would it fit in this situation? Ahh, I'm just agruing semantics, don't mind me.

  • It is a "piano version" (very ughly version) of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D.

  • vestilagiubba is correct regarding the music (it is a piece in the public domain I found on Wikipedia).

  • As to the quote, I actually believe that it fits this situation perfectly.

She protests that people are stupid and do not understand the meaning of her original video, but I think that people actually did understand the "true" point of her original video, so her only recourse is a name calling tirade in "protest"; and the fact that she has since removed the second video means that even she has finally realized this.

Anyway, thanks for posting, and Happy Hump Day!

  • She deleted her reply (the one this video is about), her type doesn't really like to be proven wrong. I wanted to post a video response to beth of her vids, but alas, I'm lazy. Now I no longer have to since you said everything I wanted to say to her. Thanks. ;p

  • Glad I could be of service.

    Lol ;-D

  • "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." - Mark Twain

Thanks for the heads-up on the website, I'll check it out.

  • Agreed. Well done, my friend!

  • Thanks for the positive feedback (this uploading is all new to me).

Anyway, I hope your week is going well. Take care!

  • i think you should show you face...she's a girl and she assumed her opinion showing her face...why don't you?

On the other hand, i understand what you said in this video and i think many of those things...but i need to say that she used the religion as a example because it is the BEST EXAMPLE. I think that if you want to response her video, you should show your face as her did it

  • vestilagiubba: "show you face"

That would be a great idea...if I had a webcam that was working right now; I used Windows Moviemaker to put this together.

However, whether people can see my face or not, that should make NO difference to the validity of my comments, should it?

  • GregariousMisnthrope = HomeboundPilgrim btw.

    Lol ;-)

  • Anyway, thanks a lot for stopping by and sharing your views on the subject.

  • Lol, of course your face does not validate your oppinion, but i think she's more compromised with her vision of the world than you are. You don't have a webcam, don't care about it....just use moviemaker to put your own pictures and we'll all know who you are...It's a matter of being or not compromised with our points of view...just that. I will response with a video soon.

  • As the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for"...you might TRULY regret asking to see my mug.

    Lol ;-)

Seriously though, I'll give it some thought if I post anymore vids.

Thanks for the advice, it is sincerely appreciated.

    Best,

    Tim

  • Hahaha, lol.

  • Great!

  • Very well said.

  • Thanks; but how did you find my videos? AngryLittleGirl hasn't accepted either of them as responses, from what I can see.

    Just curious.

    Anyway, thanks again

    Be well! :-D

  • You showed up on the related videos list.

  • Methinks she's probably not accepting your video because it's more coherent and less thrown-together like most of the other replies.

People like her don't like to be knocked off their high horse.
