If you put more curve on the barrel you can make it so you hide behind a bunker and only the tip of your barrell shows kind of like a periscope on a submarine. That would make a great barrell.

I know this was a joke, but it's actually possible to do this. The problem with his process was bending an empty barrel. When you bend a cylinder with no support on the inside it will flatten, so you end up with an oval barrel that breaks balls. In order to support it you have to make a solution of soapy water with standard dish detergent (I'm sorry I don't know the ration), fill the barrel and freeze it over night. You can then bend it in the vice and it will remain round.

That was supposed to be "ratio". The same process is used for bending the tubes in brass instruments. Obviously if you're bending a barrel cold you need to make sure it is made of a soft metal like brass or untempered aluminum (think Stingray II and stock 98 barrels). One of the other features of the Flatline is the unpolished interior. If you're trying to make one of these you probably need a fine grit sand paper to roughen the barrel interior before you try bending it. Will try in future.

actually it would serve as a shotgun barrel, and also, if you just curve a very very very little bit the barrel, it would serve as platline, this doesn work because the curve is too pronunciated, and teh ball hits before exiting the barrel.

@borg if you pack the barrel with sand you will be able to bend the barrel without the crush effect (or the flattening out of the barrel) Then in order to recreate the grip of the flatline you can run (before bending the barrel) a piece of pipe through the barrel with a piece of sand paper on it roughing up the upper surface of the barrel, this rough surface will aid in giving the ball back spin. I am working on a functioning version of this but keeping the inside diameter of the barrel is hard
