@Rhys2692 So true. Matte screens stray the light more, which means you lose a few percents of clarity. But glossy screens don't scatter the light, but you lose about 50% of image clarity because of reflections of the sun etc.

Glossy is the opposite of ergonomic, it's highly questionable and once more, a trend I don't and will never understand.

I think one of the scariest things is the simple fact that your light is limited. While you might want to bathe constantly in the sanity restoring lamp and candle light, your resources are limited. This is also true if you get stuck or lost. The longer it takes you to move through the game, the less light you'll have.

having a good horror game is kinda like having good sex, its all in the foreplay. you gotta have a great atmosphere and you cant just rush in there and go from 0-60 in a second flat that just doesn't work with either. you've gotta take your time building things up, with amnesia its a little sound here or there off the start, but it builds up and up untill you are totally engrossed in it and you have been eased into it, a very gradual slide into true terror instead of just thrusting you in there

@moses1290 A lot of people tend to say that the idea that we have power is more or less an illusion, and that often times people are afraid of being powerless - this game does that excellently and of course the inability to fight back constitutes that aspect. :)

A brilliant way of doing a Horror game, considering many of the other ones concern you going around the corner and hearing "BLAERGH!" - being jumped out on by a dissipating zombie or something. Gahhh! :<
