Funniest part of the whole clip is that all the words heard are genuine swear words made up for Farscape. Frell (the Farscape equivalent of BSG's frak) is the biggie and it's appropriate that Claudia says it since she's credited with inspiring the writers to start adding it to the scripts after what was going to be a one-off use.
The thing that made Star Gate so great wasn't even the SciFi part of it, it was the persistent cultural jabs and satirical comments (mostly made by O'Neill) and the adorable things that the characters did that made it such a joy to watch.
It's also why the Ferangi episodes were the best parts of Deep Space Nine.
I never watched Farscape so I didn't realize that Claudia Black was a regular on that series until I saw this parody. Great spoof. Now I want to see Farscape.

It's because of the thing between Vala and Daniel is like between John and Aeryn ;). They originally had it cast with Ben Browder as John Crichton, but changed it :). I think it is funnier and better this way :D!

They didn't want to be sucked back into the old characterisations. *Then* they realised they could play on the physical similarity between Michael and Ben (as joked about by Vala in her first appearance of Season 9), and swapped the roles on the day.

you're absolutely right. but, it was still enjoyable, and like the other guy said amanda tapping...and i would add claudia black. atlantis on the other hand has completely derailed. it's target is a younger demographic which is exemplified by bad guys whose chief weapon is to make you old.
every atlantis episode has turned into a race against the clock for rodney to save the day with magical pseudoscience.
I think you'd like Farscape. If you liked the SJ ship, or DV, you'll enjoy the series. Very smart, inventive and with some of the most kick ass dialogue ever.
my favorite from the 200th episode of Stargate thought that it was very funny. it had also felt like a home comming for two of the actors of farscape as well

I Totally agree. I was skeptical at adding Cam and Vala to SG-1, but they were fantastic. I'm a huge farscape fan too which helps, but in their own right cam and vala were great characters. Now the Ori were a completely different story...in my opinion they were terrible enemies, I found them annoying and unbelievable. Great Stargate enemies were the Goa'uld on sg-1, the wraith on atlantis, and even the replicators were better than the ori.
I loved Vala and Cam. I first started watching Farscape and then a friend intro'd me to S&J and got hooked on SG1. I must say I too was skeptical about Vala, but when I saw her with Daniel, damn those sparks FLEW!!! Cam, even more so. I hoped they wouldn't ship him and Vala and thank god they didn't. This spoof was hysterical though. I couldn't stop laughing!!!!
I liked the Ori because they were obviously supposed to represent modern religions. It was fun watching Earth fight the ancient, Pagan gods, but I liked the subtext of the Ori plot-line more.
The ori are the most clearly geared toward the christian religions if you ask me, angry and hellfire-happy. In the end the whole subtext was free thought should rule a persons life and nothing else...
At least that's what my hippy brain pulled out of it

Someone restrain me before I kill this boy. Escuse me, Vala was not a replacement. Who exactly did she replace? Also Cam replacing Jack, so what! If you stopped liking the show because a single character left then you weren't a true fan.
Stargate doesn't work if you don't have a premise, or a plot. It works without certain people.
I'm not trying to be rude on this, but I find it insulting that you consider two highly successful people, (Okay not highly) rejects.
Also Farscape = Amazing!

I Totally agree. I was skeptical at adding Cam and Vala to SG-1, but they were fantastic. I'm a huge farscape fan too which helps, but in their own right cam and vala were great characters. Now the Ori were a completely different story...in my opinion they were terrible enemies, I found them annoying and unbelievable. Great Stargate enemies were the Goa'uld on sg-1, the wraith on atlantis, and even the replicators were better than the ori.

Ugh... Hate the replicators! They were so BORING! Lol. The ori were pretty awesome, though. All that cool fire... lol.
The ninth and tenth seasons are my favorites because Mitchell and Vala are my favorite characters. :D

I loved Vala and Cam. I first started watching Farscape and then a friend intro'd me to S&J and got hooked on SG1. I must say I too was skeptical about Vala, but when I saw her with Daniel, damn those sparks FLEW!!! Cam, even more so. I hoped they wouldn't ship him and Vala and thank god they didn't. This spoof was hysterical though. I couldn't stop laughing!!!!

I liked the Ori because they were obviously supposed to represent modern religions. It was fun watching Earth fight the ancient, Pagan gods, but I liked the subtext of the Ori plot-line more.

The ori are the most clearly geared toward the christian religions if you ask me, angry and hellfire-happy. In the end the whole subtext was free thought should rule a persons life and nothing else...
At least that's what my hippy brain pulled out of it
