Other than the ref botching the Chick call (what are you supposed to do, walk up and touch the guy, hoping he doesn't get up and run while you take your time?), it was one of the best games I've seen in a while! Rider comebacks all game long!!! Durant is going to be a star!

xJTF2x can't believe you thought that Chick "pile drived" Burris. He simply dove on him before he had a chance to get up. No helmet contact at all. It wasn't the slightest bit aggressive. What is this soccer??? As for pyramiding, I can't believe you mentioned that either! How long have the Stamps played pro ball? Would you really like to see everyone standing on each other like a cheerleading squad to block converts and field goals???

If it had been the other way around ie one of our guys ramming Durant while he was already on the ground I can guarantee you would be whining and complaining so just give it up already. Not the slightest bit aggressive you say? What are you blind?? Burris was LAYING on the ground! For crying out loud. And damn straight the pyramiding play was cool, I didn't say it should've been legal but it was still very cool to see.

@xJTF2x - You guarantee what I would do? How? Anyway, a player is not down until tagged and we all know Burris gets away from unbelievable situations, so approaching him slowly is not going to cut it. Chick dove as fast as he could before Burris got up and (as he does very often) made a huge play out nothing. To each his own I guess, but leave pyramiding to the cheerleaders in my opinion and play football.

Exactly, a player is not down until tagged. You just said it. All Chick had to do was tag him, and Burris would be down. Tagging him by putting his hands on him or just touching him was all he had to do, and it would have been just as fast, that's why he was called for unnecessary roughness. Chick threw his full weight on him whether he meant to or not. With any other player on the field it may have slid but Burris is the QB so there's extra attention given to that play. Deal with it.

@ xjTF2x: Dude, you're not getting it. Burris had plenty of time to get up and run. The countless times he avoided sacks last weekend confirmed that. I agree the quarterbacks have to be protected, but Burris was not down and out. Chick needed to get to him fast. Injury was never the intent. Did Burris look shook up at all by Chick's tackle??? Everyone in the room (Stamps and Rider fans) growned at that call.

Actually dude, your the one who isn't really getting it. If you read my first comment in this whole thing you'd know that I also thought the call was weak, but I was explaining the reasoning behind it. The call is what it is, I understand the frustrating nature of it but technically it was a valid call. Argue all you want, the force Chick used wasn't necessary given the situation and that's the way it is. A weak call? Yes, it happens. But whatever, I'm really sick of this conversation.

I can't believe they didn't show the Stamps blocking the extra point attempt. That was the coolest play I ever saw in a long time, even if it was "pyramiding".

If the stupid reff didn't call "unnecessary roughness" ( it was the most necessary roughness I have seen.) The riders would have easily won. btw whats it like going to a game in your own city and only seeing green?

The Riders got screwed by some terrible officiating in OT. John Chick's hit on Burris was completely legal and was not roughing or unnecessary roughness one bit. The Stamps would have had to kick a long field goal at the most on the first drive, but the refs botched it big time and allowed them to score. With a Rider TD afterward, the Riders should have won 37-33.

I beg to differ, Burris was on the ground and all Chick had to do was touch him and that would qualify as down by contact. He didn't have to pile drive him, especially considering he's the QB. It wasn't necessary. QB protection is a big issue now, so that sort of thing is always going to get called. But I do understand your frustration.
