  • Thank you for the idea. You are very entertaining. :)

  • How big would u say the pans ur using are? I'm trying to do a palette with 67 lipsticks and trying to fit them all in one.

  • This is great! I actually want to start making my own lipsticks and the most obvious form of storage would be melting them into pans. I plan on putting them into a palette, however I want to have sexy tubes, too. I thought of buying beautiful vintage lipstick tubes on eBay, but I also really envy a lot of the packaging by brands like Chanel, YSL, and Estee Lauder. What do you do with your lipstick tubes when you depot them? If you just throw them away, would you be willing to donate them? ^_^

  • @gabbyd6277 hi there, glad you liked it! I actually just recycle them. I take them into Origins that has a recycling program and they send off cosmetic packaging that can't be put in curbside recycling. I don't keep any of that stuff.

  • Thank you, You just saved me 300 dollars on lipsticks for my kit. Elle

  • omg i got kinda shocked in the start, haha.

  • I didnt find her "kinda crazy" just not BORING! i think that she is rather refreshing and inviting. :} ibtw, it REALLY helped me out n.n Thank you!

  • @0o0owannabeo0o0 thanks love, if you have any other questions about the method or tools needed, let me know as I'm happy to help!

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn

    thank you, i forgot to subscribe the other day, i jst did :}

  • Fantastic idea. Just wondering if there are other reasons for melting the lipsticks in the oven besides improving the finished appearance?

  • @ChocolateCurves thanks for the imput (and you know, actually posting something RELEVANT to the video!)! Melting in the oven will give them a more finished appearance yes, and you can do more at a time. Plus, you can't really put the tins in the microwave, as you'll cause your microwave to catch on fire! :)

  • always wear your eyebrows ,fix your haircut from the front and be carful with the lightning not above your face because it will show lines even if you don't have it follow these 3 advices and you will be fabulous

  • @batwoman0 I don't do my hair or my makeup in every video, because I am comfortable enough in my appearance, I don't feel like I need to impress strangers with my face in every video. the video is about how to make a lipstick palette, not about eyebrows, a face tutorial or hair.

  • yes u are kinda crazy

  • @379fairy well I suppose it takes one to know one! I'm not insulted by such a comment coming from someone who subscribes to a child pageant channel? Right. Not insulted. I find you hilarious.

  • I LOVE AWESOME OLD LADIES!

  • @MsRandomWeirdoCreep ME TOO!!!! *high fives*

  • Thank you. I have been inspired. I've done the Japoneseque palettes before in the past but have been meh about the results. Got my pans in the mail will attempt the conversion tonight. Hopefully I shall not burn my house down ;) BTW it's nice to see people closer to my own age being beauty guru's and not all teens and tweens.

  • that is so smart thanks !

  • So. You didn't get them from Ebay, you got them from ECRATER!

  • @nadyaplvn87 no, I bought my pans from a seller on eBay. I have no idea what Ecrater is. It sounds like an infectious disease.

  • "i look like a just killed strawberry shortcake with my bare hands!"

    ever

  • Do you happen to know any stores where you can buy pans??

  • @34567JB I don't know of any stores that sell them, but I've been told that TKB trading now sells a bunch of different sizes on the website for very affordable. Much cheaper than the person on Ebay I bought mine from

  • EXCELLENT JOB MELISSA!

    TY for sharin'

(Hey y'all could always just leave the pill box in your car over lunch and voila! all melted by dessert course ;)

The double broiler method would work well as an alternative and (of course) the microwave (Matte ONLY, no metallics).. then just pick up and gently tap to remove air after cooling slightly.

  • WHAT THE FUCK I THOUGHT ID NEVER SEE THE DAY WHEN A WHITE OLD WOMAN TRY AND ACT LIKE A BLACK NIGGA OMG

  • @Ferland24Alix I never thought I would see the day when a little 12 year old white brat would try to act and talk like a black girl. The last time I checked, a white person using the "N" word in any form is considered highly offensive. And since by the looks of your profile, you are nowhere from being black, you might want to check your vocabulary choices.

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn Dammmnnnn right :)

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn Watch your language woman you shouldnt talk to a little girl like that!

  • @nikkihb48 *snorts* OMG, you're hysterical

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn are you crazy (not to be mean)

  • @nikkihb48 are you obtuse (not to be mean). You do realize, child, that adding a "not to be mean" addendum to a mean comment doesn't negate or cancel out the mean comment. Clearly, if you don't intend to "be mean", one would choose to keep their mouth shut instead of posting mean spirited comments on someone's channel. Just because you're 12 yrs old doesn't mean you're too young to know how to treat others with respect. I'm old enough to have pushed you out, so you could at least show some.

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn okay goodbye and good video by the way :)

  • @nikkihb48 Thank you for the compliment. See how easy that is?

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn Just trying to be nice :)

  • I like your hair. :)

  • Shes Not Crazy , Shes Funny (:

  • not really that was funny

  • awesome!!! im going to try this for sure!!!, check out my new channel if u get time xx

  • I love that you let your personality shine through! So many YouTubers try to sound so "professional" that they miss the mark and just end up sounding flat and boring. Awesome vid!

  • did you insert that magnetic sheet in that palette?

  • @hipretty no, that's how its sold. Its the MUFE pro magnetic palette (available only at their pro shops). But if you look at my other video I did for "how to make your own palette (not using a DVD case)" , I showcase a product called "calender cases" which you can buy and put a magnetic sheet in.

  • @GoGoSharapova Thanks! No, I don't find that the consistancy changes, but if you are going to be making rather large palettes like this, it is a good idea to make sure you're going to use them all regularly so that they don't go rancid on you before you use everything! Each of those pans holds about a 1/2 tube of lipstick (that's a lot of lipstick)! You might be better off with a smaller palette like Z-palette. MUFE ones are only sold at their pro store/you can call their store and order them.

  • damn you scared me in the intro...take a chill pill woman!

  • @MizPromiscuousity you sure must "scare" easily then. I'll make sure to cater to your preferences next time by overdubbing my video with a soft monotone voice and gaze longingly into the camera. I'll make sure to ask Michelle Phan for tips on how to please you better.

  • @MakeupByMelissaLyn haha Michelle phan!

  • wow your video are fantastic seriously i can imagine myself trying to make lipsticks MESSY LIPSTICKS EVERYWHERE ITS A GIRLS NIGHTMARE! gr8 video your palette looks very neat

  • not to be mean or anything but your kinda crazy.

  • @jervaisealexi that is mean, what do you think?

  • that palette look really good

  • @xoxoamirtha I'm slacker, I still haven't finished getting this one all the way full. Its so time consuming!

  • Now I regret throwing away my lipsticks ):

  • this is the best video I have seen for melting lipsticks!! Great job

  • @tieshaglover thanks a lot! I realize this might be bigger than most people would need (shit, I still haven't finished making the rest of THIS one!). But you can do the same thing with round pans in other magnetic palettes or other smaller freestyle magnetic palettes

  • your awesome

  • This video was awesome. thank you for doing this.

  • do you think some may dry out in say a zpalette....because i want my palettes to match but im afraid some may dry out like older revlon lipsticks

  • @ZvenHoak well, they sure might (in the z-palette or any palette), especially with mattes that tend to be drier formulas by default. If you don't think you're going to use them that often, you may want to consider getting the YABY 40 palette and the 15.5mm round pans to go in them (they are super duper tiny) or the 20 well palette with 20mm pans. Same process, you'll just be melting a much smaller quantity of product in a much smaller pan. You don't have to make a huge gigantor batch like I do!

  • I don't have many lipsticks so it probably would be more expensive for me to do this, but great idea if you already have many! I think this would be a great inexpensive gift too! ....Hello xmas!

    ps. you're a cutie!

  • @imsoflyyeah HI! If you wanted a smaller one, get the YABY freeform palette and the square pans. Its late and I'm tired and don't want to dig out my YABY palette, but I believe with the square pans, you can fit 12 in the YABY freeform palette. You can also use the Z-palettes too (two sizes, both smaller than the MUFE one).

    P.S. THANKS! :)

  • Where did you get the square empty pans?

  • @NREnger the eBay user name is Mehndi911. Thanks for posting!

  • we make lip palettes the same way. i like you.

    :)
