@SxeAlbert It would certainly seem like it! This march has been performed once every decade since then, for a total of four times: 1983, 1995, 2003, and 2011.

OMG~~~ still my heart beats hard every time i hear the apache drum beat!!! go apaches!!!!!!!! and yes baker!!!! it;s MEEEEEEEEE~~!! :) now... where is everyone?!?!?! come come tatebe!!!! deady!!! and pragaaaaaaaaaaaa~~
Hi friends~! Someone out there please refresh my memory???? I think I was one of the members. Is this the year when we won Long Beach? I stumbled upon this video today and wow!!! great memories!! Such excitement!! Cant believe Landes is still around!! Hip hip Horrary for Landed!! I was a sophomore and played the piccolo with Lisa and Patty.. The seniors were.. like Deady Doshi Brunwin Tatebe Baker Lorden etc and some juniors.. Tchen Wong Are you out there?!?!? :) Go Apaches!
Is that Joanne!!!??? please.please write back, this is Baker I think of you often since Mrs Cocoris cant find you anywhere!!! There are awfuy things being rumored!!!PLEASE! IF THIS IS JOANNE, i need to know!!
I'm down there marching my sophomore year, I had just come from Foothills Junior High School in Arcadia where I was the Drum Major... I remember all these great parades, including taking the sweepstakes trophy at the Long Beach band review, and marching in the Rose Parade...
Why don't bands sound like this anymore? Not to detract from the achievements of today's top players, but they would be pulverized if they competed against their former selves.
Wow...very snazzy version of SMttF--lively tempo and dynamics. I'm so used to hearing this march drag along. This is the kind of performance that blows people off the sidewalk. I'd love to see more bands get away from the concert band sound and really let loose on the street.
ok, was right guide front rank in this year as it was my sr year. don't remember the song but I do remember the 11 across. wish I could find a video of when we played stars and stripes in '81 in long beach
I remember competing against this band on this day and the previous two when I was in the Thousand Oaks Band 81-84. They were a powerhouse back then. Thanks for posting this. It brought back great memories.
One thing I know is that bands DO NOT and CANNOT play this loud anymore. Arcadia's version of any march is different then most schools, the sound is more crisp, with the perfect blend of melody and harmony..not to mention that legendary bass line. GO AHS
only 110 winds and percussion marching :P
