  • I have seen the Croyden ones.

Part of that was due to embankment strengthening causing a width restriction in the Morden area.

Which I think is the bit shown here.

  • The same bi-directional rail exists in Prague Czech Republic in the tram network.

  • Thanks.

On Wikipedia Commons I've seen a photograph of interlaced track through a narrow road and arch at Malá Strana, Prague.

I'm going to add this to my website, as an excellent example of interlaced track.

  • In the USA interlaced track is called gauntlet track. We have a few places in the Chicago region that used this. One unfortunately resulted in a spectacular wreck that killed several people.

  • oh dear - but was it the fault of the track which caused this? or something else which just happened to be at this specific location?

  • Further to my other comment, I'd like to thank you for this information. I cannot alter the video as youtube do not allow this, but I am altering the video name and other information to include the word 'gauntlet'.

  • Interesting in the first shot how its not actually a point but 2 rails overlapping

  • Thats right.

In fact several different locations are shown where the track is interlaced like this.
