Also, it burns me up that this guy put so much time and effort into this droid, and it's still not good enough for some people. They're telling him what he should do with it. But they don't really appreciate what it's taken to get to this point. I am personally in the process of building one myself, and even casually mentioning that often leads to a verbal assault about what it should do. Simply to get to the point of the droid in the video is quite an achievement, so bravo, sir. Bravo.

Just so everyone knows, you can't just buy one of these. This guy built it himself, and did a fine job, if I do say so. The R2 builder's club has tons of info on how to build one, but it will take a lot of time, money, and ingenuity. Anyone looking to buy one pre-made or even in kit form will not find anything like that that is the quality shown in the video. The club makes it easier, as builders often sell parts, but even those parts need a lot of work to be usable.

you can get a commerical fully robitic r2d2.... its from hasbro i think. you can get it there, from amazon, shrper image, and probably other places too. its actually better than this in ways, cuz its voice actived, no remote needed, and he understands 50 commands. you just say "hey r2" and whatever you want. it also has the lea message like this one when you say: "hey r2" (wait for a beep), "do you remember" (another beep) "princess leia?" and he has reactions for many other characters.
