I love this song too so does my mum. I'm from Australia with a strong millitary background, Great Uncles and Grandfathers all fought in the Army. My father (officer), brother, partner, best friend and sister- in- law are all in the Royal Australian Navy and our housemates are in the Army. I could never imagine how it would feel to never hear or hold anyone of them again. I pray for all the troops Aussie or American who are doing a wonderful job and their families, they will come home to us. Xxx

My fiance is in Korea right now. He wont be home for another year. The first time I met him I had a white bow in my hair, i had just left Cheerleading Practice. I believe that there is no greater honor than to fight for ones country's freedom and i do believe that there are times where war is not only just, but necessary, and without war i would not be able to live and enjoy that freedoms i do today, including writing this statement right now. I am so thankful that my son is back from Iraq. 15 months was too long to be away. GOD bless our troops, especially those in harm's way and comfort their families during their deployment. This song really brings to mind the pain military families have to feel when a husband/wife/daughter/son/mother/father heads off to war and the fear that you might never see them again... Our soldiers have so much strength to go over to fight, and our families have so much more strength to support them. May the soldiers lost in battle rest in peace, the families that lost someone find peace, and to the families that saw someone return from war, you are the lucky ones. Love them dearly.

Yeah. My little sisters boyfriend left for iraq about a month ago. She's not able too eat or sleep, its tragic, but, I am the one helping her through this, maybe if she had another support system.

I believe that there is no greater honor than to fight for ones country's freedom and i do believe that there are times where war is not only just, but necessary, and without war i would not be able to live and enjoy that freedoms i do today, including writing this statement right now. However, this war is not being fought for any freedoms lost or in jeopardy. It was a preeminent war. Too many Lives are being lost in vain. Too many families are being put through hell. Please. i love this song. my brother and the man i love are in the airforce and currently serving in afghanistan. i am certainly proud of the sacrifices not only our soldiers but their families too. if you don't have a significant other or loved one serving...you couldn't possibly understand how lonely it gets at times. but we love them and thank you bluskyex89 for putting this together. i sent it to my brother and loves it :')

This song really brings to mind the pain military families have to feel when a husband/wife/daughter/son/mother/father heads off to war and the fear that you might never see them again... Our soldiers have so much strength to go over to fight, and our families have so much more strength to support them. May the soldiers lost in battle rest in peace, the families that lost someone find peace, and to the families that saw someone return from war, you are the lucky ones. Love them dearly.

My ex boyfriend was in the army, he went over to Afghanistan while we were still together, and it scared me everyday. It's hard, really really hard....but like i said they are all strong for many different reasons, especially because it's like a big family!

our vocals class decided we wanted to sing one more song with flanders feilds and pie jesu for rememberance day and one of the girls brought up this song, only a couple people knew it and one girl printed the lyrics off and we learned it together and the teacher learnt the chords and i tried not to cry it was beautiful, but i like our class singing i better.. this is too twangy, too country and doesnt have the emotion for it

Yeah. My little sisters boyfriend left for iraq about a month ago. She's not able too eat or sleep, its tragic, but, I am the one helping her through this, maybe if she had another support system.

i got a letter yesterday from a friend of his out there + inside it was a letter he had written me before he died. it was heartbreaking. + i would just like to say to anyone with family out there, be strong. it hurts that they are away + if they dont come back. but they'll want you to be strong. x
