really????im starting to think my video being funny is being blow out of proportion ,
by looking at what you guys did, im thinking you would have much more interesting and funny stuff to talk about , but im pretty glad at the same time my video is getting that much interest
billy, the filming editing and everything was just awesome in this vid, i absolutely loved the start and could watch a whole video of just that. and yay congrats on finding 'animal chin', that takes me way back to my youth :) thanks for sharing, brilliant stuff :D
I always enjoy comments from you, ...it's a long story and I'll have to PM ya about it. haha, The truth is, my personality is the goofball that likes to have a good time guy you see in the latter half...but I really love photography and that kind of serious artistic expression. I've got a video planned that is actually nothing but serious videography stuff, it won't get me any new subs, but it'll make me happy..and for the record..I don't get "animal chin" hahah
lol think i'm just showing my age, animal chin looked just like your guy in the mask, was a 1987 skate film called 'the search for animal chin' by the bones brigade (tony hawk and co when they were just kids) hence why i said you found him. jeez i'm just damn old :( i'll look forward to that serious vid, it sounds good :)
Well Dan if the number in your callsign is the indicator of your birthyear, you and I showed up on this planet about the same time... I'm very well versed in early skater stuff, I had a powell peralta board that I wish I still had =0...but never I saw "animal chin" hahah..I'll have to check it out..I do remember "Gleaming the cube" with Christian Slater I think it was..
I took about six days off of Youtube..I have about a bazillion videos to watch myself =)..I thought I throw together a trailer to give me some time to catch up and edit =) I'm just hoping the series doesn't disappoint...lol..
Oh god I can't wait to see how the rest of the series shapes up. You know we road the Pig Trail after hitting Mt. Magazine sunday. Aside from getting stuck behind some minivan driver doing 10, it was a blast. :)
Oh yeah the pig trail is great road, we only went a few miles into it and stopped to goof off with the cameras..I really wanna right those twisties again
Your post production skills are a cut above the rest of motovloggerdom. Have u considered maybe doing screencasts or something - so that other motovloggers could learn some of the tools & techniques u have used to "master the medium."
I just thought I'd throw the idea out there. U have the skills others sorely need. I was just wondering how those skills might be shared with others for the good of the community (a la Free/Open source software/movement)
I actually have done a few screencast videos before and they were horrible, (I was using a some shareware program) My biggest problem with trying to teach is that I don't use a single software..I tend to like certain features of some software and switch between them to get everything I want..but I agree, as a huge viewer of videos myself, I think a bit of editing know-how could make more fun videos =)
As far as I can tell (& I too watch many motovlogger vids) u are the best at what u do... post production wise. If u did decide to put together some tutorials based on ur process (whatever tools u use) they would be greatly appreciated I'm sure. It would also catapult u to rockstar status among motovloggers!
My vote for post production would be Motochron..formerly CMblake1967..he is not well known, but I think his editing skills are the best
To be perfectly honest, I'm just happy to be accepted in the community, since I rarely actually put a camera in my helmet..rockstar status is something I've never strived for.. haha..I still think u should write the book on the history of motovlogging, u seem to be "The source" for all that is this crazy hobby. But with that said u did give me a video idea =)
I had hoped u would take my hint & make some good of it ;-)
That's why I rarely comment. Too many comments become too much work to have to deal with. The YT comment system doesn't scale well when folks get popular & get scores of comments per vid post. I've never felt a need to be a fanboi posting comments left & right for every little thing. I usually post after having been compelled to do so after watching the vlogger for awhile or something in the vid strikes me...
... because my posts are less frequent (& if u noticed quite targeted to specific 'select' motovloggers). I think they get me noticed more than I'd really like :-o
I've known of CM or Motochron (or whatever he decides in the future) but he doesn't have the track record u do. His skills are good but if he keeps closing accounts folks just won't be able to keep up ;-)
U on the other hand visited & rode with 88HI - that moves u up the ranks in my book & that chicken vid is hilarious! XD...
I follow you, I'm the same way, I rarely comment on videos when I know the vlogger isn't or can't respond...being a vlogging fan myself, it's easy for me to see the other side of it and I do my best to respond to everyone. Riding with Rob was a great time, while he is a legend in motovlogging, he is just regular dude and I found that very cool. My question is, because you are the "go to" in vlogging know how..is what happened to "RideyourRide"? he was the first one that I ever watched
Billy, I ain't the "go to" guy in motovlogging, it's just that I happen to know the stuff I've been asked thus far. As far as I'm concerned Trinith is the man 'cause he was an organizer of motovloggers for quite some time. He probably would take up the mantle again if he felt so inclined ;-)
"RideYourRide" still has active YT & LV accounts & he still logs in to both regularly. He's deleted practically all of his YT vlogs tho :-( I think he just lost interest in vlogging for whatever reason...
I noticed that he subscribed to my buddy Tracy a few weeks back, I was really surprised that he actually was still active. I watched him because he was a Viffer guy as well, but he was the first ever I ever saw...he had some pretty good videos..
... he's moved on with life I guess & doesn't feel a need to vlog anymore. Prob just wanted to ride without the added hassle of vlogging too. He wouldn't be the first it's happened to ;-)
Trinith bought his bike because RYR had 1 first (another dude in CHI had 1 too). He did do great vlogs tho, I watched 'em all the time back then. But now tho we have 5 VFR riders within the ranks so it's all good.
I also don't make idle comments usually, I tend to have a good reason to do it & I usually have a good sense of the person b4 commenting. (U may not realize how much motovlogging truly reveals about the "real" man/woman in the helmet.)
Let's just say that I thought the screencast/tutorial idea would strike a chord with u & if not with u, at least u would prob talk with someone who could act on the idea.
See... I'm not as dumb as I appear to be in d interwebz =)
sorry for not commenting in a while billy ive been very busy and havent been too keep up on my youtube subs but ill be ssure to catch up to your vids asap anyways looks like your up to your old tricks again with bwom cant wait.
oh and i know you were happy to see ol' faithful....you and that bike been through alot. alot of miles, blood, and sweat. and its still kickin for the next round.
Oh yeah, I consider my VFR my motorcycling wife...and my CBR my mistress...The only person that bike will ever go to will be my son if he is so inclined to ride..=)
Truly nice taste of what is to come. This is def going to be one of the most entertaining vid series you have done yet. With all those individuals and disting personalities riding along for this journey.. it will be quite the ride indeed.
Unfortunately,I was only with those guys for an evening..I didn't have time to actually ride with them...we just hung out and swapped vlogging battle stories..it was a great time, but I got just a tiny bit of footage from that...most of the series is just me, bringing the VFR home..
In respect to the Rocket III, it does actually matter if you use the killswitch or key to kill the bike. My computer resets itself and will have a rough start for a while if i use the killswitch, I have to always remind myself not to touch it.
I know that Triumphs have the ECU in line with the kill switch, but do you know what keeps the logic buffer in the thing from dumping when you just turn of the ignition? I've always been curious
I was wondering too, so I took a gander at the electrical prints in the manual. I don't know much about this but it seems the Killswitch and the ignition/sidestand switches travel to different places. It seems that the killswitch travels to the optional alarm, and then also to the fusebox while the ignition/sidestand travel to the alarm and then also the ECM (Engine Control Module). So for some reason the killswitch cuts ALL power to the bike, no lights stay on, and it bypasses the ECM which i
guess would make it shut down the ECM also and when the bike would start back up it would have to reprogram itself to the settings before. I speculated that Triumph took it to heart that the killswitch is used for emergency situations only. So if you were to get into some kind of emergency situation that would require using the killswitch, the ECM would reset itself back to the way it was before to try to fix whatever it was that made you use the killswitch in the first place.. speculation.
Thanks man, I use about 3-4 different cameras and a few different editing programs...but of this was shot with a Canon SD870 and Canon HV30 and edited with sony vegas..
Woha! This is gonna be a epic series for sure! U have no idea how hard i laughed at the jedi man, haha funny stuff. I had to salute the gum stain of Australia :D.
