Actually my dad's band starvation army wrote something like the bass riff on a song called lipstick and razorblades. While they were playing, green day, before they were famous, were playing at the same concert. At the 2001 (i think) MTV music awards Billy Joe wore a starvation army shirt.

basically Mike came up with the bass line for the song "Longview" when he was on LSD also known as Lysergic acid diethylamide - which is what Billie meant by he was on acid. LSD is a drug many musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, took to get into a creative and free state of mind.
