I wonder what Beethoven (THE great revolutionary in all music) would have thought of this? I suggest he would have found it disgusting in its 'worship' of establishment institutions.
actually i can't really understand you. what's wrong? the quality of the artists? the good accoustic in those churches? the chance for people from countryside to listen to great live music? beethoven would have liked that a lot.
what's wrong is that the ethos of this enterprise is antithetical to Beethoven's vehement and oft-expressed derision of The Establishment. He, above all composers, hated comfy gatherings of the great and the good. So-called. It's just too self-satisfied and comfortable.
1. If they are not really good with what they are doing, doesn't matter how good looking (or sexy) they are, they won't last too long in the business. But if they are REALLY good, being good looking helps them to promote their career, and then people start to appreciate their arts.
2. People who buy his CD for his look will have a chance to listen to some wonderful music. Isn't that great?
When I heard Anderszewski for first time, I didn't know how does he look like:-) And I fall in love with his Mozart before I saw him. I listen to Anderszewski and draw an inspiration from his music irrespective of his appearance.
I think real music lover should pay attiention to MUSIC and the artist's individuality. Let's listen! Just listen!
here's that sex again. what if he didn't look so charming. what then? would you listen to his wonderful playing? you're rather lame brained, it seems.
