even the Daedalus-class star ships weren't that powerful until the Asgard gave the SGC the new enhanced shields and beam weapons.. all they had before that were rockets and rail guns which were close range weapons.. if it wasn't for having shields the Prometheus-class ships would have been blown outta the water the first encounter with the goa'uld

very true,the rail guns and rockets were pretty much useless against Goa'uld mother ships, it would only really be useful for taking out fighters.

They all had Asgard transport beams which they usually used to transport nukes aboard enemy ships.

that didn't last very long ..they were only able to do that a few times before the Wraith devised a jamming code ..the ships didn't have Asgard beaming tech till later..they had rings like in this episode
