@QwertyQwaf they can use 17670's without any modding, but have around half the runtime as you would with primary cr123a's. an 18650 will give you the same or higher runtime than primary cr123a's because of better voltage maintaineance.
@joeratti boring out a hole this large cleanly with a hand drill is next to impossible, and if you bore a 0.5mm too much you can cut off the tail threads bc of the O-ring grooves. plus the type of bit and drill needed would be expensive. Only other logical way send it off to to someone on CandlePowerForums and have them bore it out on a lathe.
@QuiksiIver I think 1.5A is perfect, no real benefit to running it any higher. your eyes won't be able to tell a difference but the phosphor in the LED will last much longer and you'll get better run time.
BOSS work man... nicely done :D How are those Oveready crenelated bezels? I saw on their website they have the 5 or 6 point versions... What do you think of them?
@gvsfgdf They are really nice, I like the SS bezel a lot more that the standard SF 6P defender aluminum one. The only issue I had was removing the old polymer retaining ring from the end of this light. SF glues it in place so I had to drill a section out of the polymer ring to peel it straight off, rotating it off was impossible.
This world would implode without duct-tape. Or at least my car would.

Hey, can't SureFires use 17670 batteries? Btw, does it have the same run-times as the 123a?
