  • This is why currently manufactured windmills lock into position when wind speeds get too high.

  • no pitch..! M)

  • What i wonder is if they could put the wings in a position so the wind wouldnt be able to turn it. But the other hand they wont need to i guess since they have breaks.

  • and when the wind isnt blowing where do you get your power from? somewhere there is a coal powered power plant or nuke plant producing electricity for you. they dont just shut them down when the wind is blowing, so they are still churning out all the polution you green weinies are screeming about. wind is only supplemental, not a replacement. shut down the coal and nukes and tell me how you all like living in the dark. what we have now can barely stop rolling blackouts, wind will never do.

  • @44coonhunter Finally, someone has hit the nail on the head....you CANNOT shut down ANY power source that you NEED.....SO,at best its a very small supplemental source however,a real waste of alot of money and resources.

  • Yeah, and the one nuke plant makes power far beyond what 20,000 of these would.

  • @thecoondog123456

well at least a windmill can produce enough power to pay for its own construction in just 600 years or so.

  • when this thing went wrong they didn't have to clear a 20km ring around it for the next thousand years, kind of make wind power a winner in my book.

  • Well and truly 'Fukishemied'...!

  • LMFAOOOO windmill explosion

  • so why would you post a repost of the same vid even tho the quality now sucks?

  • YAO THAT JUST GOT PWNED

  • why are the blades on the leading edge of the pilon? if they were on the trailing edge, it wouldnt chop the stupid pilon up!

  • SEE HIPPIES LOOK AT THIS .

AND YOU ALL SAY WIND POWER IS SAFE

    FUCK YOU

    'BRING ON NUCLEAR

and a dictionary so i can spell :D

  • @hayd112233

Yeah nuclear power rocks like Chernobil

  • @Ismalith there gonna cover it with a giant dome

  • @hayd112233 Can't beat cheap Japanese atomic power...!

  • my dad built one of those nd he was there when one exploded before

  • this is kinda scary cause my house is right by a wind farm

  • 0:16 SUICIDE!! lol

  • lol

  • 0:15 OH CRAP!

  • lol

  • 4million dollars wasted

  • Hahaha that looked funny!

  • I hope you know wind turbines are suppose to make electricity.

  • Yeah, Wind Turbines make Electricity and Wind mills milled down grain back then.

  • Dont put grenades in Wind turbines, This is what happens!!!

  • oh my goodness me i wodent like to be thier

  • As anything has, it is only made to turn a certain RPM, then boom.

  • /watch?v=c3FZtmlHwcA&feature=related

    ORIGINAL OF THIS VID

  • Yeah I remember hearing about this, basically the brakes failed, wind turbines have brakes on the shaft that stop the blades turning in overly high winds and the brakes failed on this one during a storm, the blades started to turn too fast and a blade failed which caused it to chop through the tower, still on the bright side one of these going bang is a lot safer and easier to replace/clean up than a nuke power plant : )

  • @Redshift21 Too bad one of these can't come close to the power put out by a nuclear power plant, and that the wind turbines have a failure rate that is magnitudes above that of a nuclear power plant.

But it's okay, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. See you in 20 years when nuclear power is the world's main source of electricity.

  • @HarrisonHopkins

1, never claimed they could produce the same power (don't even know where you got that from).

2, even if wind turbines fail at higher rates they are still cleaner to fix than nukes that go wrong.

3, even nuke power won't last in the long run as it depends on uranium and that is a finite resource just like coal and oil, while solar, tidal and wind are here for the long game.

I may not know all but I do know I'd rather live next to a wind farm than a nuke power plant.

  • @Redshift21 - You settle for midiocre I supose, there are better windpower tech been developed, specially the one that work at high altitudes.

  • @GostosoSPbr I settle for safer.

  • @GostosoSPbr how about now, still so bullish about nukes after whats happened in Japan ?

  • @Redshift21 - Wtf your saying? I never said anything about nuke plant, I'm from Brasil we had only 2 nuclear plant's that's responsable for 2% of total power the main is HIDRO.

What about you and your SUV, AC and you consuming resources like crazy?

  • @Redshift21

I'm not one to judge, but I can't agree with you anymore on the subject that is so right. Look at Tokyo, Chernobyl, and Three Mile Island! If we all had a choice for who disagrees on nuclear power plants. i think the finding of nuclear power was a big mistake.

  • @DarkZero812 thank you :)

  • @Redshift21

I'm not one to judge, but I can't agree with you anymore on the subject that is so right. Look at Tokyo, Chernobyl, and Three Mile Island! If we all had a choice for who disagrees on nuclear power plants i would be another to vote to remove them. i think the finding of nuclear power was a big mistake.

  • @DarkZero812 And I agree with you

  • @Redshift21 The turbine hadn't been serviced for 15 years - criminal neglect - our local wind farm has a check over every 6 months. you wouldn't fly a 747 for 15 years with out a service....!

  • @ChuffChuffWoo no wonder it failed?, still it's better than what happened in Japan.

  • poof, went $80,000...

  • $80,000? Try about $2,000,000

  • Nah - boring, The Chernobyl nuke plant blowing up was MUCH more fun!! Noise - you don't know the half of it!!! Check out this Nuke power plant carrying out its regular siren testing, see NHEQaXqaIv4, it does this regularly!!! And anyway, why does it need a siren, is it to warn everyone to run for their lives when it all starts to go wrong!! Give me a wind farm any day!!

  • I doubt all those dying as a result of the disaster would see it as "fun"

  • ...just reminding people that windmills are relativity harmless in the grand scheme of things, pity they want to plaster the planet with atomic reactors 'in the name of 'solving' climate change' the cure will be worse then the illness.

  • @ChuffChuffWoo Since I made this comment, Fukushima happened - alas humans just arn't responsible enough to be let loose on atomic reactors. Give me a wind turbine on every third mountain top any day.

  • @ChuffChuffWoo

PEOPLE DIED!! IF YOU WERE THEM YOU WOULD NOT BE LAUGHING YOUR BUTT OFF YOU WOULD BE SCREAMING FOR LIFE!! 200,000 VILLAGES WERE DESTROYED, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAD NO CLUE ON WHAT WAS GOING ON AND DIDN'T KNOW WHY UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. IT WAS ALL SWEPT UNDER THE RUG. WE HAVE 3 IN MINNESOTA AND 107 IN THE USA. ME PERSONALTY, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW! PEOPLE ALSO WERE SCREAMING IN PAIN AND AGONY BECAUSE THEIR SKIN WAS DETERIORATING. (To diminish or impair in quality)

  • I saw this on Attack of the Show and there was some serious heavy metal playing with the video and I laughed my ass off

  • amazing
