  • You all are a joke. I've seen lives change in these "marketing" firms and I've seen losers like you still unemployed 6 months from now. Maybe you should quit spending your time worrying about what they are doing (they laugh and could care less about your opinions btw) and start learning what the definition of "work" is, and not the definition of "marketing."

  • I think they called me once BEFORE I set up the interview, but the VM said, "American", so I thought it was American the APPLIANCE FIRM, not AIL. I was like, "I didn't apply to American."

  • What's even sadder is that AIL apparently got my resume from (where else)... CRAIGSLIST! Honestly...? A prestigious insurance firm with billions in revenues is resume-mining on CL?? O.o

  • Do they REALLY never hire people with, say, an actual DEGREE related to insurance or something of that nature? Or certifications or prior experience? Is this REALLY how insurance companies hire new agents?? Just random people who send in even the most basic resume? It's a wonder how these firms can become so successful and large at all.

  • You sat down with one of the managers for about 5 minutes, and he'd ask you very basic questions, but he didn't even write any of your answers down! So you're thinking, "ook... Seems like a waste." Then he says some crap about how "around noon, one of our guys is gonna do a presentation for all the applicants" (this was at 10:30 or so). So I went to TAco Bell, had some lunch, but then I said, "Fuck this. This seems too scammy for me. No legit co. hires people in such a goofball manner."

  • A lot of "insurance companies" (when they DO list jobs on job boards) also say shit like "customer service" WHEN IT'S A SALES JOB! If you wanna sell insurance, fine, but companies should be more upfront. Selling insurance is not "customer service." It's sales, plain and simple. I remember when I went to one of these bogus interviews for an insurance 'co' called "American Income Life." God, what a ripoff. Apparently it was a three-part DAY LONG kind of interview. REALLY?

  • And a lot of the people these "firms" were incorporated in ALSO RUN THEIR OWN SCAM MARKETING FIRMS. It's such a web of deception.

  • I contacted Careerbuilder directly about these scams on the site, but they DON'T SEEM TO GIVE A FUCK. They just give you the lamest of excuses, making it seem like it's ALL YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Come on... You guys can't smell a scam job listing from a mile away and KEEP THEM OFF THE JOB BOARDS??

  • TOP Consulting now has new "job listings" on Careerbuilder claiming (I kid you not) that people who formerly were BARTENDERS would be GREAT for this kind of job. ...HOW? How is managing a bar or making drinks automatically a qualification for being in a 'marketing' firm?

  • @whoo689 Marketing is delivering a message or a product to a specific demographic. Bartenders work with a diverse group of people every day selling a product and themselves. On top of that they work for tips so you know they have work ethic and personality. As someone in human resources, I hire bartenders all the time because they have these qualities. Clearly you don't know anything about business, or marketing, or bartending. #probablyunemployed

  • The weirdest thing is that, if you actually look up the paperwork filed for creation of these companies with the Sec. of State's offices statewide, NONE of them are incorporated in the name of people NEARBY! For example, there might be a firm in MO, but the paperwork says the person whose name it was incorporated in is someone in, say, ARIZONA. Jesus...

There was NO ONE IN MO who they could incorporate the co. in? Not a single resident affiliated in? Seems a little fishy to me.

  • Not only that, but TOP Consulting was ADMINISTRATIVELY DISSOLVED for failing to file paperwork on time with the Sec. of State's office. yet they STILL somehow exist (dissolution was announced in April 2011) and are still "hiring" new people! HOW THE FUCK...?

Top Consulting and Empire's info is also mixed up in the SAME LISTING on the BBB's website... somehow. It's so weird.

  • ANOTHER scam marketing firm that uses the same building and a nearby suite is called "Empire Executives." Lol nice name

Funny enough, it's listed as a "sole proprietorship", even THOUGH there's plenty of evidence that it's actually co-run as a partnership by TOP's Chris Roberts. But the site and LinkedIn page make it seem like Peter Gasparro runs the whole thing. It's related to other "companies" like TMG, the Mergis Group, etc. All that scam nonsense

  • 12 grand a month is 144 grand PER YEAR. So, in about 10 years with that co., you'll already be a millionaire and able to retire early?

Right... And selling VACUUMS? Wow, I had no idea there were SO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE WHO NEEDED VACUUMS right away that you could make 100 grand selling them yourself in a single year for some co. Give it a rest. We've heard this nonsense before.

  • You guys who claim to have succeeded REALLY make over 100 grand selling door-to-door shit? What, do you somehow get THIRTY people a day to say "Yes"? I highly doubt it. Stop bullshitting us.

  • But I highly doubt they give you anywhere near $500 per item sold.

  • What, is the commission per package sold 500 bucks? 1000? Maybe THEN I'd believe you.

  • And the few "people" who supposedly work in these 'firms' (if they even are employees telling the truth and not just scam representatives) claim they make 12 grand a month on this? Oh, sure... Show me the proof.

  • If the ONLY way your firm can sell shit is to just randomly contact people, you're already fucked, aren't you?

  • Door-to-door random 'sales' still exists in 2011... Dear god. In such a technologically advanced age, I can't BELIEVE people still do that! We've got cell phones, the Internet, etc., but some "firms" still do door-to-door? O.o

  • Kind of funny how they do door-to-door shit.

REALLY? A competent "marketing" firm needs to just randomly contact people at their houses or businesses?? Is THAT the hallmark of a good firm? Why don't they have actual LISTS of people who might be interested, or some kind of consumer data or research to narrow it down? Going door-to-door? What is this, high school with the magazine subscription nonsense?

  • STEALING the term "marketing" from actual marketers

    great job, guys...

  • Since when is "marketing" door-to-door? Lol

What a bunch of scammers... They can't even come up with a DIFFERENT term to describe their co. and use a term that means something completely diff.

  • A lot of these "marketing" firms are connected to a well-known corporation that does "outsourced sales" called Cydcor. It's a pyramid scheme WITHIN a pyramid scheme! They have tentacles all across the country.

  • The worst part is when these companies claim also to be "consulting" firms. LMAO

Oh, you mean like how Mckinsey is a consulting firm? GIMME A BREAK, you lying scumbags. McKinsey is legit; you marketing firms are NOT CONSULTING. The two are entirely different, are they not? Like this "TOP Consulting" nonsense

Unfortunately, sites like Careerbuilder are LOADED with these scams in their listings. It's a fucking disgrace! I want a REAL job, not some door-to-door nonsense.

  • I just looked up one of these "companies" that contacted me back after I sent a resume. I looked at the MO Sec. of State's website, and it said their St. Louis, MO, branch STARTED NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO! Yet, in the email, the HR woman was bragging about how they're "rapidly expanding" so much. Right... After less than a month? Please... Esp. when your "company" only runs ONE FUCKING SUITE in a giant office building?

    Don't think so! Nice try

  • Door-to-door lol

NO FUCKING WAY. I'm not a child selling magazine subscriptions for christ sake. This is 2011. Companies STILL do door-to-door? Seems like a big waste of time. How about identifying ACTUAL potential customers through consumer research and shit? Narrow it down, maybe? Dumbass "companies."

  • she simply was not cut out for the job....I personally know 100's of people that have not just done well, but have truly succeeded in this field...and IT IS NOT a get-rich-quick scheme...you have to work hard....but the results and the opportunity are worth it for the right individuals....she is obviously not one

  • @TheWarman62 You shouldn't read a book by it's cover but in this case it's easy to tell this bitch will be unsuccessful for the rest of her life. You went to an interview looking like that?? No wonder your experience wasn't the best. I personally did very well working for one of these firms because I like winning. It isn't easy to get people to go door to door and all you haters should gain a little more confidence in yourselves and make easy money.

  • I'm getting bored now of losers posting on websites about how they failed within a marketing firm. If your scared of hard work then it's mcdonalds that awaits you. These so called scamming marketing companies are giving you the opportunity to succeed and ensure you and your families future and to be honest posting a video on YouTube? Your just embarrassing yourself and proving to everyone that your a failure. Just remember that winners never quit... Quitters never win, your a quitter!

  • @hender12345 Spoken like a true scammer. You can never address the exposers' arguments and just fall back to this bogus 'argument.' Please... The red flags are all there!

For example, there's one place called "PBS, Inc." The full name is "Professional Business Solutions" or sometimes referred to as PBS Management, Inc. or PBS Management Group. UNLESS you use the exact domain name provided in the HR address, YOU CAN'T FIND IT on Google! Seems a little odd. Even if you narrow down search.

  • @hender12345 Seems a little fishy, dontcha think? Not only that, but business addresses RELATED to this "company" provide ALMOST A DOZEN search results for OTHER "businesses" also in that suite. How BIG are these 'suites'?

And how does a big 'prestigious marketing firm' only need one suite?? Get real. Obvious scams

  • Yeah I just quit my job in a marketing firm called Smiths Marketing Associations which is based in England and Scotland. I worked there for 2 weeks and I did some research and they are totally bogus on how they recruit people. Also they often come out as a different name but at the same address really shady. Poor people who are still in that job. I will probably blab it out once I recieve my money which is probably £70

  • you better go work in macdonalds for $ 8 an hour and make 350 $ a month.

    you video is really useless.

u gave it a try and you didnt succeed so try something else

    I feel sorry for you

  • hey you failed that why you quit because you sucked selling the product X so that was not your field. you better go and work in restaurant and leave sells to someone else.

I did sell door to door for 6 months and I was really successful making 12000 $ a month eventhough I used to work long hour. I also worked selling vaccums .

the good thing about this jobs is because you are unlimited interms of paysso the harder u work the more you make.

  • kj

  • @nanaimo001 innovations?

  • luckily I do not listen very well when people tell me to do xyz with my life. I give them the bird and do my own thing. Anyway it wouldn't be a scam if they offered a base pay, and basic subsidies for gas and travel cost(in a sense these aren't the scams). Now the scams are the ones not wanting to pay anything to their employees talking about merit based pay(bullshit)

  • I asked them if gas was covered the guy said its a tax right off(wtf??) then I asked the percentage of comission per package sold. The guy working could not tell me saying ask the manager who later could not tell me. So basically I told the manager I'll just be going to Peace Corps. People are telling me not to do this, and if I leave the country for work people tell me don't do that. older generation is trapping young americans into this situation.

  • Excellent points. Well done!

  • Two Vancouver based scams are TAG Consulting (The Acquisition Group) and M1 Innovations. I had an "interview" with TAG for a CSR position about "Telus." M1 Innovations? These clowns called me even though I never applied for anything related (I have records of all my applications). There are very few real marketing/advertising agencies. Big companies have in-house marketing, so if an agency claims to represent Disney, then you know it's a lie.

  • @dereksbooks tell me more about this m1 innovations. they want me for a second interview. tell me more, i know that if its commission basis then i aint working there.

  • I must say, thanks for making this video. I had an interview with a Clearwater-based company called "Pro Source Services" scheduled for today, so I decided to do some searching. I watched this video, then gave them a call... first off, "Nikki" sounded like she didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground. She told me leads are generated by *me*, and inferred that most employees were on commission. I decided it wasn't for me, and when I told her (politely), she simply said "Okay" and hung up!

  • @veale728 Lol I am suppose to have an interview with Nikki as well. The person that called me sounded like she was reading from a script so I kind of figured that they call A LOT of people for interviews. I dont plan on going. Thanks for helping reassure me.

  • Pro Source Services in clearwater fl is a scam!

  • You're dumb. I work for a Marketing Firm. It's awesome.

  • hahaha this sounds alot like enterprise rent a car

  • you're misusing the term "marketing firm." These are specifically multi-level-marketing companies, and they ARE pyramid schemes. Real marketing firms work for business clients to develop their brands.

  • @benzbubblecat

but they really are not paying their entry level, and I will say these are also scams even if they are building client relationships with larger firms. The larger firms use them because it is cheaper, and these marketing firms do everything to cut cost including not paying their employees a base pay(minimum wage) on top of their commission, by making it solely commission based on something that people aren't interested in. Well it doesn't help. Its a scam. Waste of time.

  • @benzbubblecat

also these companies call themselves marketing companies. Elle Communications, Elite MArketing Group, etc etc. they go by many names and are all loosely associated with each other.

  • Um...marketing doesn't have anything to do with this. This is a misnomer about marketing. I have a marketing degree & this doesn't have anything to do with it. It's a misused word all the time. But, yes, I've had "interviews" like this. It sucks.

  • Yes you are exactly tru. It is sad especially right now people are hurting for jobs and you go to these interviews hoping for a job but something tells you it's a marketing gig.

  • omg thank you so much i almost got sucked into a marketing firm i had an interview on monday but now im so not gonna go

  • @kAR3N527

what is the name of the company?

  • what a fat slob! i would not hire this slob

  • You're an idiot, she is doing a good thing exposing these bait and switch marketing companies.

  • But then I would suggest that you are not in a position to hire anyone if you judge peoples ability solely by their appearance.
