  • I used to like this song, but I just didn't get the message nowadays that I Know it makes me really sad evertyme I hear it... Great Song!!!!

  • A beautiful song with an important but sad message. My mother used to make fun of this song but, God rest her soul, she didnt get what the song was about.

  • By the time I heard this song for the first time and I got to the lyrics (as English is not my mother languaje) it filled an empty space in my soul, my mother used to argue with his boyfriend a lot, and sometimes I wasn't safe either... so true.

  • Oh my! I was searching so for this song!! Thank yoooooooooou soooo much!!! ^^

  • Am i the only one who sings this every time Modric hits a 30 yarded high? seriously he looks like he was the kid in this video all grown up. But, that's O.K. GO SPURS

  • What a beautiful song!!

At 3:20 doesn't Susan resamble to Thom Yorke?

    ;-)

  • Suzanne is great!!!

  • love it!

  • Luka can be a girl's name as well as a boy's name, and I always thought this song was about a battered wife or female partner. Everything in it could apply equally to either child abuse or partner/domestic abuse. I wonder if this is intentional? Either way, it's a great (and chilling) song.

  • @dutchbonnet Luka is a boys name not a girls.

  • Ha ha ha!! I was like 5 when I first heard this song!! I LOVED IT THEN I LOVE IT NOW!!! TIMELESSS TIMELESSSSS TIMELESS SONG!!

  • oH, I already remember this song, now i know the name of the girl, thanks, beutiful voice and melody.

  • Good audio? LOL

  • I remember when this song came out...I couldnt listen to it....it was the song of my life....now I am grown and it reminds me of days gone by and healing that took place. Sad how many people see or hear children being abused, and never ever bother to report it or put a stop to it. For years I was angry at every one I grew up with in my neighborhood, because no one bothered to help.

  • the lyrics to the song make me want to cry, the song is so catchy and so very tragic. :(

  • vegas2008 i understand you

  • the audio sucks!!!!!! but i love this song :] its sad tho

  • You know that you are older, when you remember this song. I LOVE IT STILL

  • audio is sucks, not good

  • The audio is not as good

  • child abuse.. not molestation.

  • Exactly

  • im nietzche the man who killed god. and all your masters are dead. ah so r u.

  • Has anyone ever danced to this song?

  • This is song is about child molestaion.Sad!

  • It's about child abuse.

  • @forlongshot

Actually, it is about child physical abuse, not sexual abuse. Part of the lyrics makes mention of the boy making up an excuse that he walked into the door again, and that's how he got his injuries.

  • mein name eez gunther

    I live near z' autobahn

  • not in stereo dude!! again

  • what is was?

  • She is sooooo beautiful! Awesome mood in this video.

  • omg love and miss this song!!

  • Wrong--this audio quality SUCKS. Why lie?

  • This is back in the days of cassettes and VHS. Most anything old is old quality as they didn't have digital computerized recording. Just magnetic tape recording which degrades over time. Digitizing preserves the quality as it was at the time of putting it back on the computer. Remastered CD's do offer the cleanest sound for old music. This video appears to be ripped from a VHS recording.

  • "This is one of the first songs about child abuse. Awesome song. "

This was the first to be a big hit. The Beach Boys' "In My Room" is also reputed to be about child abuse (Brian Wilson was abused by his father, Murray).

  • my name is luka.....and it really is =]

  • you can bet where were many luka's born after this. it still makes me sad to hear it even now. and what a HUGE HIT IT WAS! i guess the 80's is my 60's.

  • Child abuse is no laughing matter.

  • oe man donde consigo la pelicula de este tema

  • Me encantan esta versión en la en español :D

  • Es verdad, es un gran tema. Está marcando una etapa de mi vida.

  • Yo también y me gusta su versión en español :D

  • She's cute!

  • I think she's down right adorable. And a wonderful singer, to boot.

  • ive always adored this song

  • omg i hav never herd of her or this song this is amazing!<3

  • This song brings back alot of sad memories.

Till this day, I still disagree with parents intentionally hurting their child just to vent their anger or for whatever. The child never learn why that way, just fears.

  • @Hornet85 The child that lives with violence grows up violent. Unless they learn "The Buck Stops Here" Sadly most do not. God damn their parents. Why breed if you don't want to love your precious children. From New Zealand. ONE LOVE. Elizabeth5830.

  • @Elizabeth5830 Sometimes children aren't hurt directly. Sometimes we don't grow up violent. But it takes a strong effort to realize that what you've seen is not how things are.

  • What happended to Vega?

  • This is good audio?....LOL!

  • No hay duda ... la mejor decada !!!

    Los Ochentas.

  • De acuerdo :D

  • Ohh... love this song!

I would give alot to be back in that dreamy, easy, young days. Sweet.

  • When this song came out, I was in grade 10. I was 15. Back then I just thought the melody was cool and I thought Suzanne Vega was cute. Now that I am older with a 12 year old boy and a 9 year old girl of my own, this song almost brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it.

  • This song is about Luka Magnotta....

  • Who was she?

  • @vegas2008 well than you should of took teh Pill or you want the love Put on the glove than you could be still booping to this tune

  • @vegas2008

I'm not a parent myself but I have nephews and nieces. I know how you feel.

  • @vegas2008 I was 11 when I first heard this and although I couldn't figure out what it was about I felt really sorry for Suzanne Vega LMAO

  • Oh yeah 1987, says on the video. Sorry people, sorry for an inconvience I may have caused.

  • What year was this?

  • the 80's were the best time of pop music...

  • Yes, and 70's too!

  • its my first time to view the video and i really like it..

  • This is one of the first songs about child abuse. Awesome song.
