The person who plays Ray does a very good job of imitating Northerners. His language, his gestures everything....makes me wonder if he is a Northern Brother. You can tell that Tate herself has trouble not laughing in these sketches :D Thank you for uploading
Absolutely amazing sketch, I love the couple,. Catherine is very talented, but must admit i like Rays' role playing here more )) its so realistic, hes surprized gesture at 1:48 is PRICELESSSSS!!
We need a Janice and Ray movie, or show, or something to give us more Janice and Ray. I like the way she says "Thai-land" and the way Ray says "Now who don't do no chips?"
Everytime the camera closes in on Catherine the top of her sweater is bent toward her and then when it pulls out again its bent away from her...something I've noticed.
lol. Americans have the same stereotype of some parts of the US. They sound (not accent, but what they are saying) sorta like some large town/small city Minnesotans I've met. "Milk.... made from rice.... MILK... made... from RICE?!?" lol
I come from a totally different part of the States. One of my uncles is a hick who loves to hunt and loves his guns, but he grows different kinds of basil and makes his own pesto. So does Cate and her 'hubby' do a decent job at a Yorkshire accent?
@moleculesnmorphemes It's not bad but it's more of a mix of Lancashire and Yorkshire accents in my opinion, more of a Pennine accent that you'd find in Huddersfield and Leeds (I think Google maps would probably help with the context here) instead of a 'broad' accent hat mst people associate with Yorkshire.
Have a look round YouTube, they will probably give you a better idea than I can seeing as I'm from Lancashire :D
Thanks man. But, lol, I know where Leeds is. Not all Americans are clueless.
One thing we Yanks are clueless about tho, is when you in the UK talk about accents being narrow or broad, high or low, big or small, open or closed, blah blah blah. What the hell does speaking 'broad' mean lol. There are a dozen major accents in the U.S., but we don't use such colorful and basic terms to describe them.
Well the Dutch could have gained it from the Spanish in the Spanish succession, or vice versa. I'd have to look into that. The tempura the Japanese eat I think is a culturally modified version of the one Mediterranean Europeans eat, though, so one could say that it is in itself Japanese just of European origin.

@moleculesnmorphemes Yeah it's a bit of Southern stereotype of Northerners, but since this one's actually funny, we'll let them off ;)
