The only reasonable way to deal with the best that is Son of Whyachi was to have a bot that could take one hell of a beating and then getting bitchslapped over and over until he was stuck near a wall or in a corner where he couldn't get back up to speed.

I supposed this is just arguing semantics, but how did SOW get lucky? He pummeled Mech everytime they got close. If anything Mech got lucky that he even got the chance to take him out. Even though that chance got blown.

@moeron051 SOW was close to the Pulverizor, which could've done serious damage to him. Mech stopped moving after its rear end wacked the spike strip.

that was upsetting to see mechavore robbed of that victory...i personally prefer robot wars dude to the arenas in the battle bots arena are just way to hazardous and the view while trying to control your bot is very poor...where as robot wars you get a booth that is high above the arena so you can see and the arena still has traps but not so many that if you are about to win or are dominating then get clipped by the saws and your done...

@deathX000 I agree that Robot Wars has a better viewing booth, but man, I saw way too many good designs get robbed by those house robots. They were way too powerful and made too much of an impact on the fight. The hazards here are nasty (especially that pulverizer) but at least they don't actively hunt you down and destroy you. :D

I remember watching this on TV back in the day and being sooooo pissed that mechavore lost. Battlebots was the sickest show ever, they need to bring it back, just not on comedy central, I think that there are other channels that could do better with it

I think Mechavore got the closest to winning out of all of the bots Whyachi fought in Season 3.

So that was a very unlucky loss, it looked like they had the win until Mechavore stopped moving.

What is interesting are the dynamics of the different designs and strategies.

But you hardly get a chance to see that interaction because there is all the randomness thrown in of the stupid killsaws randomly poking up all the time.

The killsaws are about as interesting as rolling dice and waiting for a certain number to come up.

all it does it standing in the middle of the arena with 1mph. every time the other robot comes close, they take damage. they can might as well not try at all since this imobile snail cant do anything besides standing still with its spinning weapon

There IS the factor that Mechavore had SoW RIGHT where he wanted him than Mechavore died, so SoW definitely did get lucky there. Something might have happened if Mechavore had power left. Dunno if it was from too many fights or if SoW knocked something loose or what.

yeah whyachi killed mechavore's weapon at eith 1:10 or 1:18. the same thing happened in the final vs biohazard where whyachi was stopped and vulnerable but the other bot just didn't have anything left after the initial mauling by whyachi. great stuff.
