I remembered the show as a child when it air on television, and in recent years I purchased the DVD set just to bring back those memories. I didn't enjoy season 2 as oppose to 1, but watched it because the women wore skirts and I find that hot.

i recalled this golden oldie scifi from my childhood in the 1970s. my dad watched both this and old star trek . i loved this series a lot better. buying the entire 2 year run on dvd.

I never saw this show altho I am 43 and I remember it was on. I dont remember the moon being blown up in 1999, but then again I dont remember the last deep space probe with buck rogers on it leaving in 1987 or big brother taking over in 1984. I guess when 2012 comes and the world does not end ill have even more to not remember lol.

The second season of this show was like the second season of "Buck Rogers." Lousy. The first season was pretty good sci-fi - creepy and at times filled with horror, but often thought-provoking.

Before seeing some parts of this show a few years ago, the first time I saw anything of these episodes was in a Minneapolis motel room on a Friday Night early in 1977... the first stop as my Dad, Mom, kid bro, and I moved from Eveleth to South SanFran.

Season 1 theme is way more funky and definitely more interesting. Bury this with the other generic theme tunes!!

I agree, this is not at all as good as the fantastic season one theme. This is, well, OK, but feels like a step down. The pompous presentation of Landau and Bain, the mix of action and slow cuts, spacey sense of wonder and fireworks, I think that is a masterpiece, and this is more like everything else. Maybe they thought the original was over-done and wanted a more relaxed approach?

I must admit that the poor sound quality does affect the judgement, but I don't think that is all there is to it.

Very poor, unfortunately. Another upload exists that's x10 better. But the comments are OFF.

The 1st time I heard this back in the 70s, as a kid. I thought it was done in stereo, somehow. Even though the Tvs were all mono back then. The use of mostly high pitched instruments probably created this illusion. Whereas season-1's lower pitched mix didn't. What really didn't work about season-2's theme was the cheesy video backing it. Very flat, no depth. And mostly static. Showing the budget cuts.

Have to agree with daisaku. The second season main title is much better than the first season's which to me sounded like a missmatch of two competing themes.

I love this show, those cool shows from the past seem that were design to impress us with something new to the eye. Remakes like Bionic Woman seems to be target to the 90210, One Tree Hill generation. I don't watch it because I keep expecting that old feeling to come back and it doesn't... even Battlestar Galatica is not the same, I must admit it is well made. I think the only one that managed to attract me is the new Star Wars episodes, I really watch them over and over as the originals.

a revival of the show should highlight its best elements: the dark philosophical musings of year 1 and year 2's shape-shifting character maya who, despite her skills, was alone like the humans in an unpredictable universe. the updated bionic woman doesn't seem to be working out but ronald moore might just hit a homerun again with a re-imagined space 1999!!!

I watched about 2 minutes of the new Bionic Woman. A bunch of chicks sitting around talking about guys. "Bionic Girl", with Sandra Bullock, was much better!

The first season intro was much better - i remember this show as a child - so cool - the woman that could shape shift was my favorite charater although her eyebrows creeped me out!

Which was composed by Barry Gray, though his involvement in the show's music was somewhat miminal (aside from the main title).

I must admit, as dumb as this show was, the miniatures and special fx were great, it had the talents of the Martin Landau/Barbara Bain team and it was full of some pretty hot babes!

Second Season intro music was better than first.

In first one i have the feeling that I was going to see the Bee Gees at any moment in the intro...too much Disco. The Show never get my attention until I hear and see the 2nd Season intro.

Can't match the season 1 intro and the show fell to pieces in season two but still...Space 1999 rocks.

I think the addition of Maya was the only real plus of season two...
