Hate wine, i drink 24 half a liter cans beer a day. Wake up with it, and go to sleep. My dad is doing it for 30 years and even more then i, 59 years old, had a heart attack 9 years ago then he quit drinking jenever with it. This entire nabourhood is an alcoholic here in eastern Holland. U even have a village up north from here where the people are misformed from generations of alcohol abuse. 2 bottles of wine and some beers that's shit.

i used to get drunk every weekend, id go to work on a monday feeling like shit forgetting stuff and was lazy, i started to smoke pot instead and rarely take extascy or LSD, i can tell you now i no longer feel like shit when going into work i never forget things i enjoy reading books and such now, how the hell can our government band all these drugs yet keep the worst right around the corner at every shop?? i havnt had a drink for 10 month and will never drink again!

I come from an alcoholic family. My father used to drink heavily, every day. He'd go on drunken rampages, almost every night. It got SO BAD, I even witnessed him getting into an accident while driving drunk in '95, when I was 13. I came out of the store, just in time to see him t-bone an oncoming car, and I watched him being hauled away in handcuffs. I was TRAUMATIZED, and it almost resulted in my parents divorcing. But, he got help and has been sober since.

I have had big nights on the piss where I wake up forgetting what I did I now get cravings monday-sunday. I get this.....craving like I just want the taste of strong bourbon n cola mix. Fucked up.

@DjTommyKx I had to fight my alcohol addiction, which was literally killing `me, with codiene (alcohols effects make you feel like you are hungover BAD on codiene. It sucks I had to go to an opiate, but at least its not killing me, just keeping me hooked.

honestly i used to be a heroin addict and when I was in detox I met a few alcoholics who were having way worse withdrawals than any other junkie there. mostly shaking and waking up kicking and screaming from nightmares. I was completely unable to sleep from heroin withdrawals so I saw it all. You get hooked on alcohol and youre fucked..

And no, most real alcoholics (like myself, sober 4 years) are not aware that their lives are in disarray until it gets "THAT severe", and if they are aware, at that point, the drug has so fucked up their reasoning abilities that it is extremely difficult to make the decision to stop because as I would know and you wouldnt, it becomes a living hell.
