  • thank you :D helps me alot

  • If you want to do multiple chops at every half bar you can hold "alt" while chopping and it will do them all for you. Nice vid

  • u can also let the metronome play with the sample to hear if the tempo is off...

  • you cut out a few steps. like how you get the zone spec to pop up. you shouldn't have preped your sample cause it leaves steps out. how do u get the page to pop up to assign the sample to a specific key on the keyboard.

  • great tutorial man, step by step and easy to follow. out of all the tutorials i watched this is the first that showed how to get 1 sample to stop when another started

  • hey PLEASE RESPOND. when i go to slice it says the region is too large. im slicing ha half of a bar...

  • no disrespect intended, but you can highlight the part of the wave you want to chop, and go into audio, and select silence slices, and logic will chop the sample up for you,and you decide by pushing the plus or minus to decide if u want more or less pieces

  • @djbriang83 Yeah. I made another video that shows you how to chop exactly like an MPC. Equal parts with the click of a button. Thanks!

  • Never knew how to sample at all.... until now ;-)

  • Instead of moving your playhead to make your cuts, you can select the scissors tool, hold option and then cut. It will give you even cuts for the length of the audio file you have selected. Much faster and easier. Hope it helps. Thanks for the tutorials...Great job...Really appreciate you. Peace.

  • Thanks. What is the difference if I just chop and create the new sampler instrument, and set it to mono in the front panel. That's how I figured to do it on my own. Let me know what the advantages are. Good tutorial, thanks again.

  • @hiphopblues Are you talking about using an exs24?

  • Good look do you use all of songs like that

  • @dame12712 Not all of them.

  • Great straightforward tutorial, man. Just how I like it, no BS, just learn the craft. what I'd like to be able to do, tho, is layer samples on top of each other (for example, a drum beat with a melodic sample like the one you use in this video) and have both triggerable by only hitting one key. Can that be done in the EXS24? can you assign multiple samples to a single key? Thanks for your time.

  • U CAN USE SELECT ALL TO TURN THEM ALL TO GROUP ONE OR JUST GO TO GROUP SELECT NEW THEN DRAG THEM ALL THERE

  • Thanks man

  • Bro just got logic, and making a switch from FL to it. When I go into trying to slice the sample up using the forward slash...I get like an error sound and the command is not executed. Also how do you remove this annoying keyboard thing that is floating on the screen. I just wanna get back in my zone, if you could help.

  • @vincentberry77 if you want to remove the floating keyboard just press the CAPS LOCK key. If that doesn't work then you need to find out what the keyboard shortcut is. Goto Prefrences>Keyboard Commands to find out what the key is. You can also set the "slice" key in key command menu. Let me know if this helps.

  • when i go into ex24, i dont hav the option of assignment as a column ?

  • @enkhan create a new group then select the first chop, hold shift, then select then last chop. Then you can just drag all the highlighted chops into the group you just created.

This is probably the quickest method.

  • i love you sweetie thank you this tutorial muah jazmin peace and love :)

  • Great video, man!! Very helpful!!

  • yo man really good video, helps out alot yo! thanks!

  • Interesting. I will have to try this technique. I do have a Numark TTUSB as well...I've been using Audacity to record vinyl then chop in Recycle for Reason work...but now I'm going to have to get turnt up with Logic on this one.

  • @4lifeent215 yea.....I use audacity as well. When I recorded into logic I used the program that the numark came with to listen to the vinyl then I recorded the track I wanted into logic by changing logic's audio preferences to "usb audio codec". After I recorded into logic I changed the preferences back to my mbox. I went the long way around. Using audacity to record then importing the file into logic is probably the easiest, fastest way. I was experimenting.

  • @4lifeent215 I'm used to record vinyl on logic and chop on recycle just to load the .rx2 on EXS24...it needs one more passage, but I find it easier and quicker
