I had heart surgery, some nerves were damaged and I have chronic pain, which is why I am prescribed this medication. People who take it because of health issues shouldn't be thought of as criminals like those who take it just to "get a fix." I am prescribed the same amount for the last 2 years every month and even though it's not as effective, I don't keep doing more or resort to crimes. I do wish I never started with Percocet though. Sometimes, situations have no good solutions...

i really cant understand why people say these are the devils drugs, we all have personal responsabilty in what we do in life, i was prescribed oxycodone and got addicted, i was'nt doing what this guy was doing, but it had a hold on me. iv now stopped, i did'nt go to rehab, or take other stuff to come off this, i reduced down then stopped, it took me 2 months. im 10days off oxy, i feel great! its all in the mind, you need will power.. it can be done! you took it , you can stop!

Just be careful guys. Lots of people really need it. My mom died in misery and no drug was too strong for her, so i'm not about to say it's intrinsically bad, but to just shoot it up for pleasure is asking for trouble. The human body has a balance, just like nature, and for every action there is another action to balance it out. If you must experiment or try to kill your mental anguish, just please think it through for a few days. Not a moral judgment (that's not how i roll), just a plead.

i did this procedure four years ago and ive been clean since! i tried every way to get sober and can honestly say this was the only thing that worked for me. i did cold turkey so many times and just couldnt deal with it, The waismann method basically enabled me and my family to get on with a life. i was snorting oxy every few hours just to keep the prickly sweats from coming. i really think i would be dead by now if not for these people. theres a little discomfort but better than the alternative

In Florida where its like the biggest problem in the USA they have not a lot of programs to help addicts get off. Unfortunately this is part of the problem. I feel that pill abuse is getting too much dramtic attention versus alcoholism or tobacco abuse. We all know alcohol has ruined many lives around us and tobacco kills but it doesnt get the same desperate attention and if they are willing to persecute the legal user than lets show the same for those who drink or smoke. Taxation of opiates!!!!

@SparkPlugMovies1 actually opiates can perc people up especially those who are in severe pain. It allows them to move freely and get things done they wouldnt ordinarily be able to do. yes it can work as a sleepy pill but it depends on what you want to accomplish. To those who are young and think its cool it isnt and just think when you really get hurt and need meds in the hospital but you have become tolerant you wont get the real pain releif you needed than.unfortunate side affect-tolerance.

@34sunbunpart2 depending on individual chemistry, opiates can actually act as a stimulant. i used to have literal straight-up MANIC episodes, not sleeping for days, boundless energy. tends to be the more laid back people who are effected that way

I just wanted to say as a former oxy addict (upwards of 120mg) a day for 5 years, my heart goes out to every "oxymoron" (my name for us oxy addicts) who wants to change. I've been clean now since September 2009 with the help of Suboxone and therapy to deal with the reasons why I loved oxys so much. It's been a tough road but I can honestly say that I don't miss them whatsoever. Where there's a will theres a way my friends. If I could do it, anyone can. I was lucky to have my work benefits cover

@opiatescom I don't have the money for the treatment but if someone can help, I would be more than willing to do this. I'm 47 male, married for 24 years with best kids. I m on 5 Oxy 80 m day. If I can come off this med cuz of back injury, I would want to remarry my wife.  She has been my life and my love. I would do anything for her. She is the greatest wife ever! Thank you.

I think it's it's called Hillbilly Heroin because in the areas like Hillbilly ones, as it's filled with accidents and people require these pain meds. Yeah I paid 4x

I think people using these drugs or curious to trym should be very careful as addiction can lead to pwning all your stuff, stealing or doing things you'd never do - read up on Erowid. Maybe consider Buprenorphine treatment. I thnk bupe helps me out alot in staying stable and doing without OC,

Being addicted to opioids is actually painful. You think of most peoples drink after work to wind down from a hard day. Well that's what these people were doing, but after a while you can't just walk away, so maybe you should feel something. I dont know the statistics but i have a feeling that most of those people will relapse if they dont have to deal with SOME withdrawal to remind themselves why they HAVE to quit. Now i dont mean suboxone maintainace. I mean a 5 day max of a suboxone treatment.where for 5 days u tamper down from 8mg to 1mg. Thats what I did and the withdrawal was there but it was bearable. U will be clean of full antagonist withdrawal.

Its called hillbilly heroin because it first started to be tested in Virginia, and West Virginia. It was mostly distributed in poor rural areas and unsurprisingly many of those people became addicted right away.

One of my dealers started robbing families he saw get oxycontin at pharmacies after his dealer got arrested. It's synthetic heroin dude - only way more expensive...

three months ago while i was in the hospital fighting for my life from staph infection in the bone. my house was broken into from people looking for pain meds. they stole a bottle of cologne and a bottle of ultram. i had my oxy locked up in my safe. its sad that you cannot even be sick without people trying to steal from you. so i got off of them. its not worth getting killed over. godbless.
