i love how people always talk shit about other peoples ability just because you have bad ball striking and only hit your driver 230-240 dose not mean every one else is the same. i practice every day on swinging hard and keeping control of the club head 300+ yards is easy to reach with the driver. my swing speed is between 118-120. as far as scoring always in the high 70s on the card

good swing, but at your hitting zone, your right leg lefts off. if you can keep it on the ground a little longer, you will probably increase your swing speed even more.
@AlexanderBrandonLy could be a few things, either you start to swing to hard or you make your grip a little to strong. Just make sure you keep a good long arc on your backswing, also imagine it's breezy all the time. Like they say, when its breezy swing easy. LOL.

@hlggolf21 I know two guys that hit anywhere from 320yd to 360yd. They both shoot in the 60's when they play. If you're a really good player and have good swing mechanics (angles, tempo, etc.), it's not impossible for you to hit the ball that far. My farthest is 326yds and I'm not even that good.
@Jospehporta Not all pro golfers hit the ball that far with a driver. It's not how far your drive. It's how you arrive. Players who hit longer just need a shorter iron to hit a green. Shorter hitting players compensate by by simply taking a little more club than the long-hitters. Being able to manage the game and having a good short game are just as important if not more than hitting a decent drive off the tee.

I just wish i could consistantly hit the ball straight, nevermind 300+ yards....I can hit 225 pretty easily with putting virtually no power into my swing, but as soon as i try to put some power in, i turn my arms over which causes a massive slice, i've tried adjusting to a stronger grip, but i can only adjust so much before it becomes uncomfortable, yet i still manage to turn my arms over....if i could put all my power into a swing im betting on a 325 yard drive

@25glassjaw First off, it's not that difficult to hit the ball that far, it's doing consistently that is important. A lot of guys on tour used to drive the ball further in college, but had to tone it down for the narrower fairways on the PGA tour + the thicker rough. He clearly has a fast and powerful swing, and is in good shape + the weather conditions are good. To say that he's only driving it 242 in that video proves how ignorant you are.

Its strange because it seems to have the ugly hyperbolic face like the callaway but it also seems like it has the composite sole like the sasquatch. Maybe its a Callanike? Or a FT-quatch?
The IQ is the 2nd generation FT-i, so it could be the IQ. However if you stop the video when the bottom of the head is facing the camera it does look like an FT-i. But, you can't get a real great clear shot of it. I like my FT-i, it definitely helped with straightening out my drives, but it doesn't give near the distance most of the reviews say it will. In all actuality it may have even taken a few yards off, but I'll take 220 in the middle over 250-260 in the weeds 100 out of 100 times
i love these kinds of videos because they say 350 yard drive, 375 yard drive hell they could say 450 yard drive but in the video we cant tell and they never show where exactly the ball landed
@brainysnaeha what really matters is actually ball speed. if you swing 125 mph but cant hit the good part of the face for shit, then swing speed is irrevelant and the ball speed will suffer. but say you swing 115 and hit the sweet spot everytime. it'll go farther cause more energy is transferred to the ball.
@brainysnaeha so your problem is your ball speed. because you are not making consistent contact? i think its pretty normal for a good amateur (hcp scratch thru 5)to hit 4-6 out of 10 drives on the sweet spot the rest just good mishits probably 1 or 2 that are wild slices/hooks. spin will significantly reduce distance too. draws spin less than fades which is why they go farther. are you hitting fades?
@99gtxgolfer you like that club? it has a closed clubface on it so it's effective loft is like 2*+ what the driver says (if its a 10* its really like a 12*). I played it for a while but i kept hitting it high right so I went to the FT-3 9.5* tour head giving me 8.5* effective loft. I like it ALOT better. idk just food for thought if you miss high right with it alot. obv if you have tour head your face will be open and wont have to worry about it.
I've got an '09 FT-i with 11* loft, and I've noticed that it really does shoot way up there. Your explanation of the 2*+ loft makes sense. My previous driver was a 10.5* and it never went near as high as this one does. I like it, it did help with straightening out my drive, but I think it did actually take a few yards off my length. But 220 straight over 250-260 and 30-40yds right....I'll take that every time. The sound is kind of funky though.
@gracethedog48 yup the loft of the driver is not always the loft it will have at impact. If a club is 2* open that means at impact it has to deloft itself 2* to be square. this is what most tour pro's use ( clubs with open faces) this allows them to trap the ball and it a lower more penitrating trajectory. So my club is a 9.5* drivr, but its face sits on the ground 1* open. At impact it has to deloft that 1* to get square so my drivers effective loft at impact is really 8.5*.

I didn't think the added .5* would make that much of a difference from my old driver, but it really does shoot it up in the clouds a lot more. Oh well, live and learn I guess, that's what you get when you buy from a chain sports store....no expertise on the golf clubs. Next driver I get will definitely be a 9.5*. Only like the high archer's with the loft wedge.
@steamingpoopfart First off, it sounded like a solid shot. Listen to the driver shots taken by pros with a silly hand held camera, they all sound thin. You are right though, definitely not a 300+ yard shot.
Distance is so overrated it doesnt matter if you can drive 350 or 250. either way you can still reach the green in 2 if you are accurate. Word of advice stop worrying about how long you hit and work on the short game thats what will win
I absolutely hate those stupid modern drivers with cubic shape. Probably you're long and you hit it hard, but we want to see if you can keep the ball on the fairway with ANY KIND OF CLUB, from persimmons to long irons and blades. Show us who's better: the archer or the bow...

@uklongdriveseriescom you'll have to explain - if the clubspeed is 167mph then the ball speed leaving the surface of the club is much higher. The technology in the clubhead plus the springs in the ball (think you can call it kinetic energy produced) should send the ball flying much faster then the clubspeed. Thus your assesment must be wrong, because if the ball would travel the same speed as the clubspeed then the ball would never leave the surface of the club and you will pull it every time?

My swing speed is faster than 115mph but i struggle to hit past 320 because
of tailwind high humidity and very soft fairway in the real course the swing speed
is really that matters.
But i hit one last week on 18th hole par4 365 yards
It carried 300 yards but when i look for the ball its gone to the water!
Maybe it bumps on the cart path and get some huge rolls
i normally make 30-50 yards roll but the low launch shot is over 100 yards!
That drive is about 340 or 350 yards.

@brainysnaeha what really matters is actually ball speed. if you swing 125 mph but cant hit the good part of the face for shit, then swing speed is irrevelant and the ball speed will suffer. but say you swing 115 and hit the sweet spot everytime. it'll go farther cause more energy is transferred to the ball.

@brainysnaeha so your problem is your ball speed. because you are not making consistent contact? i think its pretty normal for a good amateur (hcp scratch thru 5)to hit 4-6 out of 10 drives on the sweet spot the rest just good mishits probably 1 or 2 that are wild slices/hooks. spin will significantly reduce distance too. draws spin less than fades which is why they go farther. are you hitting fades?

@99gtxgolfer you like that club? it has a closed clubface on it so it's effective loft is like 2*+ what the driver says (if its a 10* its really like a 12*). I played it for a while but i kept hitting it high right so I went to the FT-3 9.5* tour head giving me 8.5* effective loft. I like it ALOT better. idk just food for thought if you miss high right with it alot. obv if you have tour head your face will be open and wont have to worry about it.

I've got an '09 FT-i with 11* loft, and I've noticed that it really does shoot way up there. Your explanation of the 2*+ loft makes sense. My previous driver was a 10.5* and it never went near as high as this one does. I like it, it did help with straightening out my drive, but I think it did actually take a few yards off my length. But 220 straight over 250-260 and 30-40yds right....I'll take that every time. The sound is kind of funky though.

@gracethedog48 yup the loft of the driver is not always the loft it will have at impact. If a club is 2* open that means at impact it has to deloft itself 2* to be square. this is what most tour pro's use ( clubs with open faces) this allows them to trap the ball and it a lower more penitrating trajectory. So my club is a 9.5* drivr, but its face sits on the ground 1* open. At impact it has to deloft that 1* to get square so my drivers effective loft at impact is really 8.5*.

Thanks phil! I wish I would have known that when I purchased my club. I didn't think the added .5* would make that much of a difference from my old driver, but it really does shoot it up in the clouds a lot more. Oh well, live and learn I guess, that's what you get when you buy from a chain sports store....no expertise on the golf clubs. Next driver I get will definitely be a 9.5*. Only like the high archer's with the loft wedge.

Distance is so overrated it doesnt matter if you can drive 350 or 250. either way you can still reach the green in 2 if you are accurate. Word of advice stop worrying about how long you hit and work on the short game thats what will win

not 300 and def not 320!
His technique etc are not relevant to this - the ball leaves at 167 mph its will pitch at around 275yards

Ball Speed: 167mph
Spin: 2300rpm-2600rpm
6* push (i hit a consistant draw)
Launch Angle: 14*
I'm guessing that's around 305 carry. Those are pretty good numbers. Definitely not crazy swing speed, but good numbers that should make a good shot.

but the fact is if the ball leaves the clubface at 167mph it is not going to fly even 300 yards, let alone 320 as the poster claims.
Technique is not relevant if a ball golf ball moves at that speed it can only fly so far and it wont be flying 300 yards or even close

@uklongdriveseriescom you'll have to explain - if the clubspeed is 167mph then the ball speed leaving the surface of the club is much higher. The technology in the clubhead plus the springs in the ball (think you can call it kinetic energy produced) should send the ball flying much faster then the clubspeed. Thus your assesment must be wrong, because if the ball would travel the same speed as the clubspeed then the ball would never leave the surface of the club and you will pull it every time?

The ball speed is 167mph that dictates how far the ball can fly in any conditions, a ball travelling at 167mph is pretty much the PGA tour average.
Whoever sent the message, NOTE BALLSPEED is 167mph NOT clubspeed.

That's only the same ball speed as mine that's will not go to 342 for sure.
Fairway have to be very fast and the back spin rate of that ball have to be very low to got a huge roll
and stop at that yardage.
I was hitting around 270-300 yards must be a damn well hit if this one goes 342 with 167 mph ballspeed.
