Its best to use a one-hand technique in performing this. Use one hand and place it on your patient's occiput, then passively flex the neck. This maneuver can produce two findings in a patient with meningeal irritation. 1) Resistence to neck flexion (nuchal rigidity) 2) hip flexion (Brudzinski sign). The most common of which that i have encountered in my practice is Nuchal rigidity.
