  • Actually they do break the tails of saddlebreds & yes they wear weighted shoes to encourage them to step higher. just to clear things up.

  • the horse at 2:03 is Man in Motion and at 3:31 is Town Assets!! they are part of the barn i ride at! they are absolutely beautiful horses! i started riding morgan horses around 4 yrs ago and i just fell in love with them! the way that move is so pretty its just amazing!

  • i just got an old style Morgan horse this past year. They are the most amazing breeds ever. They're beautiful and very graceful in their strides. I have a friend who didn't buy the greatest Morgan. He had his tail torn off, he was sore in the butt and back legs, and he's 20. This slideshow is so great, i'm speechless...idk what i would do if the Morgan breed didn't exist!

  • I agree that some are looking too much like saddlebreds, with big long heads and skinny necks. But there still are a bunch of beautiful typey young stallions out there. Who, even if they trot super high, still have nice big necks and look like what a morgan should look like!

  • FUCK YOU

  • I have a Morgan- hes amazing couldnt ask you a better horse- he is calm when he needs to be and then will step WAY up for the shows also he has the sweetest personality ever,

and thats how morgans are now necks and knees to the rafters

  • awesome good job!!

  • i love that pic of OC. so insanely gorg

  • @pauldubray i know what you mean they are all long necked and retarded looking well dome of them are now. especially the western ones!

  • Morgans are the BEEEEEST horses EVER!!!

  • I love morgans

  • They all look like Arabs or Saddlebreds...what a pity. We used to own a Morgan, looked NOTHINg like these ones.

  • In memory of Windsong Farm Hemet Ca. Gov. Breeding and Ben Don Breeding,,,Mi-Mac,,,,King Queredo and Guenevere I loved them so, especially to my Dad ,, Lee a horseman of horseman. Stallion Service, Boarding, Training, Show & Pleassure

  • I adore Morgans!!!!!!!! <33333333333333333333

  • i have a morgan=)

morgans r the best breed ever!

    i love them

  • MORGANS ROCk and there not supposed to cut ther tails it NOT allowed but sadly some ppl still do it.

  • @Horsechick4ever2496 Morgans are allowed to have any tail length desired (although not allowed to "dock" them) if you desire a longer tail we keep it braided and in a "tail bag" so that it does grow longer. Extensions are NOT allowed and VERY heavily frowned upon.

  • @GoldenOakFarm I understand this but some people call "docking" the tail cutting it. sorry for tha miss understanding. and The tail bag is so it grows longer and they dont step on it and pull out the hairs. well that is one of the reasons what you said it another one!

  • mscatydid, the high stepping morgans are Bred to do that, they dont get a ton of heavy stuff on them and they do NOT break their tails...ever... thats for saddlebreds

  • @rdmadventures well then explain why they have big toe weights on dont get me wrounge some of them do move natuarly but how do you think they get the park horses to move like that me and my family will never show on the morgan circut beacuse i jump and when i go to 3 day and ct shows people love that i have one of the non noble flarie aka saddlebred and they all say how virstlie she is

  • @vmorgans Morgans do not wear toe weights. If you watch these horses move barefooted they all have extra "lift" in their step (and I don't mean just a little) All the weighted shoes do is accent their natural motion. Morgans are held to strict rules and every class you enter has a limit on the weight. Noble Flaire was not a saddlebred or have any lines that say thus. Judy Whitney nor Kohler Farms would show anything of Saddlebred decent. I know Judy personally I have great respect for the lady

  • @rdmadventures Saddlebreds tails are NOT broken. NEVER. ANd Saddlebreds do NOT get a ton of "heavy stuff" on them either. They are the usually the same weight as a Morgan. Source: I used to have Morgans. And I still Absolutely love them but I now ride saddlebreds. Just to clear things up. :)

  • they're pretty and everything, but i prefer my american saddlebred over them.

  • i love it but sorry to say this but um, i don't like it when peole do high steping to morgans and put heave boots, shoes and heave weights on the legs, or hoovies. and i don't like it when they brake their beautiful tails. i love morgans. i just hate it when people do that to them. it's mean. sorry. well it is. SORRY!

  • @mscatydid96 i know i hate it to but my friends have beautiful morgans and dont do any of that to them they totaly respect there morgans:)

  • My dad and I raise Morgan Horses. We try and stick to the old style Morgans type. I do not like some of the breeding lines that make the breed look part giraffe. Some exaggeration of course but you get my point. Our lines consist of Kingston and UVM. Anyways, ultimately the best breed ever! We wouldn't have many of the other American breeds today if it weren't for the Morgan!

  • totally agree.

  • @Sabsthehorsegirl - You're so right about not having other American breeds today is it weren't for Morgans. A lot of people would argue that the QH is "America's first breed," but the first official Morgan registry was published in 1894. The first QH registry wasn't published until 1940. The Morgan breed stood as a cornerstone for many American breeds; the QH, TN Walker, Standardbred, Missouri Fox Trotter, Racking Horse, and Saddlebred. Nearly 90% of Saddlebreds have Morgan blood in them today.

  • Awesome! I'm glad that other people realize this! I keep telling people about the Morgan, but they scoff at me like I'm an idiot...

  • Don't pay any attention to the haters. I get the same "uh duhrr" look from them. We know the truth 'bout Morgans bein' the bestest breed :-P

  • @Sabsthehorsegirl i know they are the best horses ever!!!!

  • @Sabsthehorsegirl I agree : }

  • @Sabsthehorsegirl Should check out my video "Tribute to Olympus Way To Go" if you like the old style Morgans He's by Breezeway out of Daisy Ash from the Brunk line. Most handsome Morgan stallion I've ever set eyes on, and I've been with Morgans for many many years. He was chosen many a time to represent his breed at demos.

  • !! Defenatly the best breed!! not only for there beauty but also for there versitality!!!!! I 100% agree with you!!

  • saddleseat! you know whats up and where its at!!

  • i love morgans sooo much! i showed and rode morgans for my first 9 years of ridding and i always thought my first horse would be a morgan but some how i ended up with a TB. i'm 14

  • i love morgans i have a cob he is half morgan...(i think)

  • american saddlebreds for ever! :) but these morgans are gorgeous!! i have a some at mine barn and they are deffinatley not as beautiful as these! great video (it woul be better with saddlebreds tho haha jk this is great anywayss!)

  • What beautiful kind eyes. Round full and prominent. Alert but willing.

I too have had a morgan touch my life. He is gone now but he left me a fine Morab mare by an accidental breeding : )

  • LOVE them....and I'm a true blue AQHA person...If I weren't riding what I am right now it would be the Morgan horse all the way!!!!!!! VERSATILITY!!!

  • morgan, most beautiful horses ever :)

howie schatzberg, best photographer ever :)

  • Great video, I have several Morgans and Love them all. Offspring from "The Beat Goes On", "Lamborghini in Black", "Simply Mazerati", Great Breed!!

  • I know the majority of these horses by reputation only. 1:33 is HollyBrook stage Rage and 2:01 is Lamborghini in Black I love that horse. 3:38 is Trebles Tanqueray. Did you take the images out of the Morgan connection?

  • no, i got them off of the american morgan horse association.

  • what's the name of the horse at 1:03

  • In general, people call *anything* that is leaner, longer and more refined "new style" and anything that is thicker, bigger boned "old style" and both are really not correct. To those who think that Morgans haven;t come in ALL shapes since the inception of the breed, do a search for Fleetwing! :-D The "Saddlebred" look is not necessarily a sign of crossbreeding! Also do a search for Warpaint. Overo AND western-working style! SO, color is also NOT an indication of type - look up MEMC On Target!

  • hi are you going to the gold cup

  • What is this song called?

  • Let it Rock

  • LOVE IT!

  • Nice video! I love all Morgans even if the "Morgan" has changed from over the years it doesn't change the fact that their loyalty to impress has changed. I especially like the pic of my boys daddy Stage Rage!!

  • Nice video. And I love Morgans, they are my favorite breed. But I don't like what they are coming. Yes they are gorgeous, but they are turning into saddlebreds. I don't understand why change breeds so much. I hate it. I have an 11 yr. old show bred, yet older style Morgan. Soon enough they are all going to look, act and move the same. woohoo. :(

  • I recognize the difference. I have a 16yo old style morgan...lippet and brunk. I have two new style morgans with pleanty of government but the noses are longer and thinner as are the necks so cross breeding is quite evedent.

I love them all though....great friends of mine. Mountainhigh Enchantress (old style) is 16, Sonny is also 16 and Dame to Spencer 2yo gelding and promissing to show well through my sons teens.

    Nice video, such handsome morgans.

    thanks for this

  • 0:18 is my horse's daddy! :D

  • Also, nevertheless, they have evolved into a beautiful breed.

  • I was raised on the backs of Morgans in the 70's and 80's in Vermont with some of the All time great original Morgans breeders from Danville, and West Burke and UVM. It wasnt until it "SNOWED" in central VT that the introduction of the more "saddlebredy" Morgan evolved. Everyone that is familiar with the Morgan heritage can recognize the euphamism...

  • WOW, what I would like to know is when the Morgan became a Saddlebred???

  • what do you mean?

  • Yeah, you're right!!

  • @pauldubray actually the saddlebred is made form a combination of the morgan and thoughbred.

  • @pauldubray - How so?

  • Comment removed

  • @pauldubray - the saddlebred CAME from the morgan......

  • Wonderful video. Great job showcasing some of the Morgan Greats!

  • I've been out of the horse business for a while but I had Morgan Horses (Syracuse Regional) please tell me what happen when did they start letting every color register in the bread now, why, WHY?

  • Why NOT? It's devastating that so many good horses have been unable to register because of color - a true loss to the breed. A Morgan is a Morgan no matter the color and a good horse has no color.

  • because to breed in color you bread out the original. Its all about the original set that makes this breed great. bay, black, chocolate...very little white...small socks not spotting. Its about TRUE conformation. Like morgans bigger than 14.2 .....it actually quite sad. Newer breeds like saddlebreds want the fancy going of the morgan and are close to ruining the breed.

  • i have a 23 year old morgan timmy aka (CO Perfect Timing) he is like 15.1 hands i think. and i have a 11 year old parkere aka (RWF Walk In The Park) he is 16+ hands. soo are you saying the older orses are the (old style)???? just wondering

  • By "old style" I mean foundation mares and stallions. Of all 8k registered morgans, only 1k (12%) are foundation morgans.

  • Nice Breed! I whish we had some of them in South Africa too! There have been one or two imports (e.g. Saddleback Statesman), but not much became of them. Here we only have the American Saddler. Our version of the Morgan is called the South African Boerperd (Boer Horse).

The Morgan sure is breed to be proud off. I like your Hunter Pleasure classes it is very elegant, I am MAD about the long tails!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!!! Morgans are my 2nd favorite horse<33333
