Can you talk about ghost notes (I think they call it that way) that you play as an ending of the lick (min 7:19). I've seen BB, Cray, Mayer and you do them many times and sound to me as if you were talking with no air left on your lungs. Love how it sonds and would like to apply it to my playing, but I ned to understand how it functions. Thanks for your lessons.
oh yeah and please continue to think of things that you may take for granted cause honestly i'm a beginner on my second try at guitar and these not knowing these sorts of things is why i quit all those years ago.
FRicken! Hell! Thank god cause i so thought i wasn't supposed to do that. i totally wanted to do hammer ons. At least now i know its not wrong! now i just have to practice it cause i've been trying to pick through all these licks and yeah i it starts feeling impossible.
i know i should be paying attention just now... but i can't help it... my brain just goes on and on:' this guitar looks so fine! oh my it looks goood! its sound's so sweet!' ....sorry, what's that bout hammers and shtuff? no seriously, thanks for the lesson man! : )
@gr8bluesgtr I figured they were. They sound nice. In my Strat I have the Duncan Antiquity II's, and they sound great as well if you ever get a chance, check them out. I'm playing through a Mesa Lonestar 4x10 Combo which is the amp I have always wanted, and finally got. I enjoy, and appreciate you work.
Ohh, so that's allowed? I never knew. When I do this lick I always have a hard time picking the hammer-on at full speed, and I thought I was doing the technique wrong.
What happened to the tip of the pickup selector?? Haha

edu256 1 year ago
@edu256 It's a lick found in many of Stevie Ray Vaughn's songs. Most notably, Texas Floods.

so that's why no matter how much I practise, I never play this lick clean by picking those fast hammer on notes.

Hammer-ons are definitely important for speed... unless you're Steve Morse

Hey Anthony. Love the Grosch, and think it is your best sounding guitar, on the videos anyway.. Are those Lindy's? Great lesson, by the way.

@regelemihai Yes, it's allowed. Unless you're asking someone who has no idea what they're talking about :-)

I would love a lesson on the ballad that gets played on the OD comparinator :D

Great video. I think people get so caught up in shred picking and forget that a lot of the speed is developed through less picking and movement.
