How to Install Audacity and the LAME MP3 Encoder

@xXcrazyjayfilmsXx Yes, there is a newer version. Version 3.1.4 which is for 1.3.14 Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7. You can find the 1.3 Series download on the Audacity website.

when i do file and go down it doesnt say export as mp3 it just says export. i installed lame and still doesnt work? help

@howdo222 If you happened to have Audacity running while you did the installation of the encoder close Audacity and open the program back up again. When you go to Export MP3 in Audactiy for the first time, you will need to navigate to the location of the encoder file, open it and click ok. You will not have to navigate to the file thereafter, as Audacity will “remember” the location of the file for future use.

@azteca2015 Hello - once you have the LAME MP3 encoder installed properly, all you need to do to export the audio file as MP3 is to go to File and select Export MP3 from the dropdown. I'll post a video on how to do that so you can see an example.
