@ChibiDragonQ PS3 did exactly the same thing with the PS3 slim and its various HD sizes. Same thing with peripherals. I don't see how Microsoft have me eating out of its hand and XBOX 360 having more exclusives is even remotely related. They didn't include a Blu-Ray because they are to expensive and by Sony's own admission are one of the reasons the PS3 is failing as a console. As I said, I have both, the PS3 set out to be a 'Multimedia Hub' while the Xbox set out to be a console.

@Hmantooth IMO opinion the Xbox succeeded as console, the PS3 has done alright as a media hub certainly, but as a console, its doesn't compare. 1 of the MAJOR aspects of console gameplay for me is the multiplayer, and the PS3 has weak online capabilities and as far as I know the Xbox has more exclusives that I am interested in. Making it - In My Opinion - the better console. People really need to get their heads round the idea that everyone has an their own opinion.

If you build your PC decently I honestly doubt you'll have to even look at requirements until the next generation. Requirements are nearly Identical as they were in 2005.

Nowadays, a PC which can run the majority, if not all games (save a few really graphically intensive titles) costs roughly $600.

Now, I am being pretty generous saying $600.

This of course, doesn't include a monitor.

In gaming terms, PC's are better, they have better controls, arguably better online, mods, the games are cheaper, and games run at 60fps+, which can make a huge difference in your play experience.

Of course PCs are very superior to consoles (graphics, gameplay, etc.) but that's true if you have the necessary money to buy the most up-to-date PC. NOT EVERYONE CAN ALLOW THEMSELVES THAT. But anyways, there are different points of view, I'd preffer a X360 because it's more cheap for me. I don't really care about great graphics, or online (except for rpgs): I love fresh ideas (World of Goo, Limbo).

That $60 you pay for every month, is paying for what is essentially, a voice chat service, you aren't getting servers for your games, all of them are P2P hosted.

Also, Xbox live was hacked, and I believe 60,000 account details (including paypal details) were leaked.

In the past, Xbox live has been brought down due to hacking issues.
