  • You did well. It's really the only one you need. This song is perfection in four minutes, and the first line of the last verse makes me cry for no reason at all.

  • If I payed enough attention to how truly talented in every aspect of singing and songwriting Joni Mitchell is, I probably would have written myself off as never having a chance and just simply listen to her. Thank God I was too distracted. Her music is in it's own category that stovepipes right up to the word 'music'.

  • ♥this tune

  • she is da best and shares mi last name!!!!!!!!

  • I *adore* Joni :D

  • Carey Raditz dropped out of UNC in the late sixties and spent some time in Greece where he "inspired" a certain singer songwriter. He is the same

"bright red devil" mentioned in another song.

  • nice song

  • Happy birthday Joni and thank you for all that great music...

  • What's that four stringed lap instrument called again? She wrote alot of great stuff on that thing in the early years. A Case of You is a beautiful example. "On the back of a cartoon coaster - in the blue t.v. screen light - I drew a map of Cananda - O Canada - with your face scetched on it twice."

  • @terrybeaton

    That's a Dulcimer.

  • so much better than Mary Chapin Carpenter

  • Beautiful effort! Greetings to everyone from Jarrahnut in wonderful Western Australia.

  • Well, Joni had to have her bohemian days, or she wouldn't be who she is. I so love this song, because it seems she was getting back on her feet - not that she wasn't ever off them all that much!

  • Matalan Moon? I didn't know they sold them. Do members get a discount?

  • loved growing up to this.

  • I am 46, and I remember my sweet aunt putting me down for nap, strumming her guitar and singing this song. "Carey" was a great Joni Mitchell song and her legendary voice honestly placed her at the TOP!

  • I grew up with this music in the house. its such great music that just hits you right in the heart.

  • The LYRICS are just superb! Her songs always make me feel as if I'm living the movie 'Almost Famous' !

  • Her songs can always touch somewhere in heart.

  • something about this sng, the cadence, lyrics, harmonies, oh hell, the whole song is special, I'm tryin to sound sophisticated

  • I love her

  • a true legend. so unique

  • zero dislikes, just the way it should be

  • 1st Joni Mitchell cd, well, 1st or 2nd was "Hits" & it's more than a collection. More like a collection of magic.

  • Best folk song ever! I love it!

  • I still have the vinyl version of 'Blue'

  • Absolutely wonderful. Must be 40 years since I first heard this, as magical as ever. Ms Mitchell's voice is a bit off now (fags to blame) but she was hot back in the day...

  • @noushitaisa "fags to blame"? lol what does randomly hating on gay people have to do with this beautiful song?

  • @sTapleEVA You cannot be serious. Fags are _cigarettes_ in the UK, where I come from. Does that make sense as to why her pipes are not what they were?

  • Love it!

  • &fmt=18

    stereo

  • The harmonies starting at 2:12 ...

  • I keep going back and forth among SONG TO A SEAGULL, BLUE, HEJIRA, COURT & SPARK, and DON JUAN as my all time favorite Joni Mitchell album. If forced at gunpoint to name one, it would be between BLUE and HEJIRA; it depends on which one I'm listening to at the moment. Has there ever been as great a singer/songwriter as she?

  • "Blue" is one of the greatest album ever released!!!

  • one of my favourite songs ever

  • Joni Mitchell's voice is borderline orgasmic. This is one of my favourite tunes of hers, but any one can almost make come in my pants, Sorry for the vulgarity.

  • we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down. Lets have a round for these freaks and these soldiers a round for these friends of mine...........

  • Best - That last line is "let's not talk about fare-thee-wells now"

  • I thought this was so weird the first few times I heard it and then it really grew on me, I think it's beautiful!

  • gorgeous gorgeous

  • The Wind Is In From Africa, Last Night I Couldn't Sleep...

    I've Got Beach-Tar On My Feet :)

Oh! You're A Mean Old Daddy, But I LIKE You (fine)!

C'Mon Down To The Mermaid Cafe...We'll Laugh & Toast To Nothing!! Smash Our Empty Glasses Down!

Let's Have A Round For These Freaks & These Soldiers, A Round For These Friends Of Mine!!

Let's Not Talk About "very-wells" Now....
