The trick is to give it the ability to lean into the walk like we do.

Human locomotion is intentionally altering your balance and catching yourself in a controlled stumble.

Running works similarly but you propel yourself by kicking off and you absorb the shock of the landing as you brace to kick off again.

that is more natural walking than Asimo or any other robot out there!
