  • He obviously doesnt care about garage

  • Did they film this with a potato

  • thats grime

  • Didn't Crazy and Wiley beef around this time? Just wondering why he's in the video.

  • I like how it's a white guy who's confused about the name.

  • I call it music in the "fuckin nice" category.

  • Everyone knows the timeline Garage - Grime - Dubstep. Each scene took something on to the next stage. You can even see some old school garage in some contemporary Dubstep.

  • my cuz in this vid

  • @TheWillEnglish This came in early 2003 almost in 2002 as early as that then.

  • filmed on a phone, fuckin old skool, wata tunee

  • Nothing beats the original video. Full Stop.

  • I did a presentation about it in my English course. Now Wiley´s got a few new German fans :-)

By the way, this should be on the top if you search Wiley, shouldn´t it?

Greets and respect from Germany. Keep the real Grime scene up...

  • Where abouts in London is that tunnel wileys in?

  • @rudeboy101 i think bow y

  • @rudeboy101 its club SE-ONE underneath london bridge

  • Grime is the ting truss, watch when this shit tops the billboard one day, even americans/canadians will start doin grime haha like Tre Mission

  • Call it grime, call it filth, call it an absolute STEAMING PILE OF TURD, but it's basically just garage with someone chattin breeze over the top of it.

  • this is garage with an mc on top of it.

  • Brap

  • Man Wiley's vocabulary has always been shit. But he knows how to make a tune.

  • this tune is fuuuuuuuuuuuckin big and this is why wiley is the godfather/king of grime

  • fools this is early grime!!!

  • @ztaylor82 blud u wanna say dat agen

  • Anyone who says this is dubstep is a fucking goon! dubstep wasn't even invented when this came out...

  • @danieljones4 dubstep wasn't even invented when this came out? actually dubstep has been around a couple of years longer then grime, the earliest dubstep release can be traced back to 1998... by 2001 it was being played regularly at club FWD in london, where as grime first started 2002/03... just grime blew up a lot faster

but don't slate the people who get confused because a lot of grime/dubstep sound identical, they are both just sub genres of garage anyway... & you actually got it wrong too

  • @yesitsvetz think everyone can agree though that the old school dubstep and grime tunes are incredible

  • @yesitsvetz grime definitely came before dubstep

  • @sugar3str lol what a commonly believed myth, grime mcs were still spitting over garage when dubstep first started appearing in the scene, in fact its the sound of earlier 2 step/dubstep mix that influenced grime to sound darker with the original grime producers like TNT, Eastwood, MRK1, Hindzy D, J Sweet & so on...

& that's years before Wiley made this song

  • @yesitsvetz Absolute rubbish yesitsvetz, im from london and I have watched both scenes grow from their inception. Grime predates dubstep by a number of years, in fact it was very common for early dubstep instrumentals to be simply labelled grime in the mid to late 90s.

Sadly the rise of dubstep over grime has more to do with perceptions within the music industry itself and has been played out before when a less "urban" drum and bass triumphed over jungle!

  • @nograviti bruv starting of saying absolute rubbish is quite arrogant even if ur right

u along with millions of other people just think dub-pop-step was the start of dubstep & have no clue of original dubstup that was in club forward around 2000, the first dubstep track was released a couple of years before the first grime track.

if u truly believe that grime has been around for longer then dubstep u obviously haven't watched both scenes from early days, or garage where both scenes came from

  • @yesitsvetz You can call me arrogant if you like. I watched grime's rise in east london and later dubstep's emergence around croydon . Bruv, I was there before Forward, listening to a lot of emerging artists on rinse fm and other pirate radio stations. I dont believe grime has been around longer, I KNOW it was around longer. You can hear its origin in songs like "More fire Oi" and "Pulse X", these tunes are a decade old. Before there were any dubstep raves there was Sidewinder!!

  • @nograviti for a start you are talking about the wrong forward, club Forward has been around longer then sidewinder & played dark garage & 2step which became known as dubstep before grime was even about, back when all the pirate radio stations had modern well know artists like wiley spitting over garage & dnb

  • @yesitsvetz This is what I mean, dark garage and 2step are also components of grime. Even the moniker Grime is new, cmon 8 bar, Eski, Eskimo and Sublow mean anything to you. For f***s sake, a lot of dubstep producers like plastician and skream started out doing grime then moved in dubstep later when it became more popular.

Lastly, sidewinder isnt even one of the oldest raves, many of the precursors to Sidewinder wound down due to heavy security requirements enforced by the Met Police.

  • @nograviti Also we are talking about the same FWD and I remember a lot more grime being played in the early days than dubstep. As I mentioned before, the two genres are closely related and trying to play this game of what constitutes grime or dubstep is largely semantics. My main gripe is that GRIME emerged first and that there are baser reasons as to why Dubstep won out over Grime. E.g. Cmon BBC DJ Mary Anne Hobbs brazenly even said Dubstep is less "aggressive" than grime? WTF..

  • @nograviti Eski & Eskimo is just what wiley called grime, & sublow is what jon e cash called grime, but both of these are still after dubstep lol, 8-bar is know as a garage term but still is found many genres, eight-bar blues is a good example of this

there are many producers who have switched to dubstep from grime, but this doesn't make grime older, they just trying to make money, there is just much more money for a producers making dubstep & doing raves then trying to sell beats to mcs

  • @yesitsvetz Well dne, I can see your adept at using Google to search the styles I mentioned. Also sublow wasnt only used only by jon e cash, Nasty Crew used the term through out their careers. 8 bar refers to 8 bar verse patterns actually. Grime actually is a media term (daily mail group) and every artist I met said they only accepted it begrudgingly, why would they equate their genre with dirt. Finally, all of the subgenres I mentioned predate dubstep (late 90s), so what are u talking about??

  • @nograviti how have I searched google? i have uploaded bare black opts, jon e cash from the sublow movement from vinyl's i've ripped which cant be found on anywhere on the internet way before you even commented to me, but since you were the one to bring it up i take it that's exactly what you have been doing, stop nitpicking, you're not the only person who has been following the scene from day

dubstep is from the late 90s lol, you haven't mentioned 1 genre that pre-dates it

  • @nograviti This conversation is exasperating, you havent acknowledged the real reasons behind Dubstep's rise and you strike me as a typical suburban guy living out in Kent, Surrey or Hertfordshire. Trying to co-opt sonic innovations of an excluded inner city micro-culture as your own, without acknowledging its true origins. Grime was born on the estates of east london and spawned dubstep as non-vocal sub-genre, which you ignore as it doesnt suit the picture you want to paint : )

  • @nograviti going into nitpicking about assumptions where I live & what I know instead of putting actual points forward is sad, i bet i got more vinyls & cds from back in the day then you'll ever have

  • @yesitsvetz I will nit pick about your type and origins, because every answer you have given betrays that fact. Also we could go on forever about this, but you havent addressed any of my points and have resorted to lying. Grime predates dubstep by a number of years, in fact many dubstep producers cite it as one of the origins of their sub-genre. Anyway, I think from reading these comments people can tell who the liar is. Re vinyls, probably, because I grew up & im now an investment banker : )

  • @nograviti & jon e cash & his sublow moment has been around longer then nasty crew, jon e cash is where the term comes from, same way others have used eskibeat even tho wiley came up with the term

  • @nograviti how come people say wiley invented grime when more fire crew's 'oi' is a blatant grime tune

  • @martinmerrywinkle Wiley was making grime before grime had a name

  • Why do that think I'm stupid

I got brains I could never be stupid

You can never use my name to make your raves 'n' jam

I won’t turn up, I'll stay at home with my girl 'n' jam

Can't threaten me with that bad boy talk I’m not scared sorry man

  • banger and its actually got a good video

  • check my new grime instrumentals got 91st in most viewed yesterday .. gettin alot of positive feedback and got a few collabs comin this year so check em out.. much appreiciated!!

  • Whoever thinks this is dubstep should be banned from music...

  • @thedevitt its not dubstep but same tempo......

dubstep and grime are under same category..

  • @simonking195 Dubstep and Grime are 2 separate sub-genres. Define what you mean by 'category' because I may have misunderstood you...

  • @simonking195 naahhh, most grime instrumentals are jungle and DnB. And the BPM of grime is usually well faster than dubber

  • @MrTriGaaaa na trust me grime isnt on dnb bpm 175... try mixing a grime vinyl with a dnb vinyl and then try mixing a grime track with a dubstep vinyl, youll see what i mean.

  • Poland

  • @Bombthewoorld lol wtf dz poland ave 2 do wid nuffin ledg ;)

  • @SRTFS yeah but dizzee is a better mc then wiley but wiley is a better producer

  • @stinkyskunkedmonkeys wiley is better all round, so your telling me that the lyrics in bonkers an all dizzees stuff is better the wiley, typing in ''wiley last day of 09'' an listen to his lyrics, he has improved from when he first started by 3 times btter wiley has, where as dizzee has been the same flow from day 1, wiley is best mc, producer, artist, lyrics, flow, power, respect then anyone else on the scene! dizzee followed wiley!
