  • awesome!!!! keep erm coming!!! btw, check out my video..im using PS-5 on bass.. ;)

  • what setting for pitch is at the 0:40 mark brotha - 1:05 is flutter right?

  • what setting for pitch is at the 0:40 mark brotha -

  • I love the part 0:43 to 0:57

  • @krizzleeeqwe it has different settings some work only by pressure such as the whammy or flutter effect, others are trigger on and stay on, like the detune, harmonist and pitch shift mode...this is honestly a really bad example of this pedal, it doesn't ever show the rainbow of effects or sounds it can achieve.

  • just wondering, When using this ps-5 pedal, does it engage when plugged in or can you engage it by just steping on it? from what it looks like, when you step on it, it turns into this dive bomb deal???

  • @krizzleeeqwe It depends on which mode your in. When youre in Dive bomb mode, the effect will start once you step on it. But for example in harmonize mode, you engage the effect when you step on it once.

  • Hey! I have seen your demo of the boss PS-5 super shifter. I have already bought one and I've found a problem. For example, if I am playing a solo in clean sound and I start the modes ptich shifter, harmonist or detune, the sound disapears for a few miliseconds. Does it happens to you with your ps-5 unit? I mean, is it normal or maybe my unit does not work correctly?

Thank you very much and excuse me for my english!!

  • Just More Kiddie Noise !

  • that 1st beat was awesome

  • Ween!

  • Sound is a bit too trebley but really nice playing man!

  • You look like Mark Zuckerberg.

  • @DuctTapeDefender you think so haha? Not at alllll

  • @sandervandijck not just a little bit? haha. I'd embrace it, you could take control of the monster cash cow.

  • hi, what boss distorsion pedal would recomend to play punk rock like blink 182? thanks

  • @gastonbarker

    Boss DS-1

  • sounbds like crap

  • Hey man great playing awesome pedals, what are all of them, i notice a phaser the ps 5 obviously, and two overdrives which i think are os 1 and ds 2 am i right? and the digital delay too. What was the price for those and are you using a pedal board, how much that set you back, thank you man keep rocking!!!

  • this pedal has a great fun

  • i like how you butt hump your guitar at 1:10

  • Its a fukkin violin!

  • you kick ass my friend, thanks for the demo.

  • nice board.

  • that sounds awesome! its between this or a ehx ring mod. also, whats the difference between this and ps-3?

  • Some guys r just stupid, they say they can hear gtr tone, they say this pedal that pedal sounds like shit, but surprisingly they can't hear a gtr sound that was recorded with a camphone which as we know sounds like shit, but of course it's not because of the pedals or the gtr or the amp, it's because of that camphone's mic. i'm not gonna judge the gtr tone in this vid coz i know it's from a camphone.. nice demo & good effort to let ppl know d function of this pedal..

  • great job

  • Id rather stick to my old 90s digitech whammy....but your boss sounds killer....keep on rocking in the free world and doot doola doot doo............

  • This guy is putting the shifter through its paces. You dorks should try playing instead of judging.

I would be happy to listen to any of mesamans garbage tests of different pedals. You guys suck that's why you pick on this guy. Anyone want to compare my tone to yours please step up...or shut up.

Bunch of retards. This guy is making the pedal work not playing Madison square garden.

  • Sounds like you are playing out of a Tin Can !

    No Depth or fat !!!

  • damn dis shit

  • How old are you... haha

  • This video example sucks, not sure why everyone is wetting themselves over this shit??? Saw a video demo of a guy playing Poundcake by Van Halen. He is using the Boss PS-5 Super Shifter

with a Vox Tonelabs effects processor and it sounds awesome. This video example just sounds like a shitty Line 6 effect...pmsl!!!!!!!

  • @Hertsman50 Haha ok. Line 6 has some pretty nice pedals though.

  • @Hertsman50 How do you expect the quality to be good when its recorded with a camera's built in microphone. I have owned line6 and boss and both are pretty close. You cant blame the pedal for bad sounds always.

Anyway does anyone know if this pedal is included in boss's Gt10?

  • how do you get that sound at 0:43

  • key: E scale : minior or major(it's to choose) : 3-rd above & 4-th above

  • sup deron miller.

  • you'd be class in a band

  • tie your figgin shoe laces....

  • ...

  • how sad are you?

  • Does this pedal work good with the bass? Plz answer quick

  • what do you think the cables are the same the bass is the same as a guitar minus the bottom strings so idk does it?

  • Hahaha, you're an idiot- don't give any gear advice.

It'll work fine with bass (I've used mine with bass many a time), but the 'octave down' effects may just get too low and flabby when played on the lower strings and frets.

  • i was being sarcastic

  • ¿ can i do the same sounds with a whammy pedal?

  • you can, but this pedal sounds better for doing dual guitar sounds. The whammy pedal will make your guitar sound like an alien invasion lol

  • yes. more.

  • hey is it hard to move the pedals thing up and down without turning it on or off?

  • WHY??!!!

  • nice vid but u gotta lose the ds-1 and get a rat

  • i completely agree with you. i tossed my ds-1 for a rat about a month ago and i am really glad i did...much better pedal

  • Yeah;) this vid is like 3 years old right now. This is my new channel, i use a marshall bluesbreaker and lots of other shit right now.

    gbye

  • Great vid by the way

  • Can it drop the tone an octave down? Plz answer :)

  • Yes you can...

  • nice vidz. just need to tell us how you make this happen =)

  • Thanks for sharing the PS-5's range and sounds. Keep up the good work!

  • Is there a difference between overdrive and distortion

    P.S. Nice playing

  • overdrive is smoother, a similiar sound to turning the volume way up on on an amp. distortion is way rougher.

  • Technically overdrive just amplifies the sound so much, that the peaks of the sine wave break into square wave and distort the sound. Distortion on the other hand just distorts the sound straight away.... I recall.

  • @freeloader678 overdrive is just a little distortion over the clean sound....it sounds a little bit rasping. distortion means a really hard overdriven sound it seems to be an other sound/instrument.

  • @crane1992 not really, overdrive has a hollow, warm sound, does is achieved by gain (which is also called drive, hence the term overdrive), and usually the amount of overdrive you hear depends on how many strings you play and how hard you play them. Distortion is different, distortion has a bassy sound with more clipping, and a lot of sustain, sharper than overdrive, and has a slight phasing effect. I don't know why I just said all that, but I haven't slept in two days, it's noon, good night.

  • @freeloader678 Overdrive is supose to recreate the warm, smooth, natural and crunchy tone of a 'overdriven' tube amp. Where the tubes are pushed so hard they 'break up' and produce a gritty/crunchy sound. Overdrive pedals are also used to push tube amps to the piont of 'break up'.

Distortion boosts certain parametres like mid's to gain sustain. Its edgy, dark and great for soloing.

  • @freeloader678

Overdrive is crunchy, Distortion is a heavier crunch sound than overdrive. In the most simplistic manner xD

  • @freeloader678 yes there is

  • Can this be ran through a mesa single recto effects loop?

  • no, you can only run mesa effects through it.

    ...

you dont deserve that amp if u dont know that

  • Hey guess what. Your a peice of shit that's just jealous of me because I have one, and I do deserve it because I know how to use it very well, just not every single effect made can be put into an effects loop without frying the amp. Fuckhead idiot.

  • UM boqueta com um equipamento só o ouro

  • What is the setting on 0:44 ? Sounds really hard rock, I love it!

  • I MUST GET ONE OF THOSE FOR MY RIG!!!

  • Can someone care to explain to me the differences between the ps-3 and ps-5?

  • more options overall. Just more harmonizing possibilities.

  • so what's the diff between the super shifter and the octave pedal

  • with an octave pedal you can make octaves

with a shifter you can chance the single cents

  • With an intelligent pitch shifter, like the Boss PS5, you can select the key of the song and set, that the pitch shifter should play a third.

Because you set the key of the song, the pitch shifter will always play the right third, major or minor.

  • I'm definently getting this.

Would be great for melodic death metal.

  • I love the sound at 0:44 =) awesome stuff

    did u use the ds-1 the sd-1?

  • SOunds like an overdrive with the ps 5 (in my opinion).

  • WELL DONE

    (camera sound sucketh, but otherwise....)

  • You've sold me, I have to buy one of these!

  • I'll sell you mine. I don't use it.

  • Could you tell me what key are you playing in/what interval are you set at when demo-ing the harmoniser mode, please?

  • its set at a third. And im playing in Em.

  • Sorry, meant to say at the START of the vid an extra octave is being played!

  • I think you can get close with only the PS-5. But even closer with an oc 3 (or oc2) . Blue Orchid is played in 3 octaves i guess.

  • At the of the vid an extra octave is being played. Is worth getting both a PS-5 AND an OC-3 pedal, or would a PS-5 be enough on it's own? I want a PS-5 mainly for harmonising and to use as a makeshift whammy pedal for the time being. Would I need an OC-3 to get that "Blue Orchid" kind of sound?

  • Can this thing combine the original sound and a 5th interval? Like the whammy. Too bad my whammy is catching radio waves

  • Yes this thing can. It can combine the origninal sound + Any interval. Are you sure it's your whammy catching radio waves? Could be your guitar as wel ?

  • No I'm not sure it's the whammy, but something sure it's not my guitar, because when I unplug the guitar jack from the whammy I still here the radio waves. I tried many different cables (whirlwind, planetwaves...) and it didn't help.

  • do you have an older amp or an analog wah pedal? my wah always picks up radio when ran on a battery..

  • super music

    thank you music

  • Excellent demo, Thanks !!

  • ingeniously!!

  • nice rock faces lol

  • Nice setup dude, you're pretty fuckin' good.

  • Do you think this pedal is better than the digitech whammy?

  • yes

  • i think it is. i have the wammy and i really love it too.

  • Depends. If you play rage, you want the whammy, otherwise this thing is pretty nice.

  • I'M GETTING THAT PEDAL!

  • That's a great demo! I watched one of those video responses and the guy talked thru half of it. I guess he had to compensate for his playing. :P

  • the first part was a bit L'Via L'Viaquez

  • what are your settings to get the insane harmony at 0:44?? I just got the pedal and can't figure it out

  • Play in the Eminor scale. Select the Em (or G) scale on the PS-5. The interval is a 3rd. Good luck:)!

  • AH! Thank you very much!

p.s. everyone reading this post needs to buy to dethklok album or get the metalocolypse seasons on DVD they kick ass! hah

  • dude, u are awesome. that pedal sounds sweet. this vid was the deciding factor for my disision whether to buy or not

  • Anyone noe how to get the sound from 1:03?

  • use the ps-5....

  • Wat are the SETTINGS on the ps 5.

  • haha i know i was yanking your chain

  • lol. rite

  • 00:45 badass

  • hell yeah

  • Is this a good pedal for bass guitar simulations on a guitar? Somebody knows one better? People says that POG is the best.

  • try the Line 6 bass POD, that one is pretty sick, and it does alot

  • Between this and the Digitech Whammy, which one's harmonys/pitch bends sound less digital? Or are they about the same...?

  • oic thx for the advice :)

  • This one tracks better

  • thx for the advice :)

  • Guys-this or the digitech ex7? I basically just want a good whammy function.. Any suggestions??

  • this

  • Thx for the advice :)

  • just get a digitech whammy

  • this takes up less space!!

  • ps-5 = more options, tracks better, takes up less space, doesn't suck as much tone as the whammy does.

That doesn't mean that the whammy sucks; i love the ps-5 and the whammy.

  • yes, but what if you want to wah with that sound

    :O

im planning on mixing that with the super octave, and zakk wah wah...hiding in my corner and pretending im Tom Morello

    :D

  • got to be one of boss's most versatile pedals

  • Nice I got the pedel to

  • hmm, i used to love this pedal now i love the aw-3 wah....no fuck that i still love this pedal, i can love both right

  • I never knew you could do so much with that pedal! Sweet demo

  • Pretty colors...

  • i friggin love this pedal

  • any other similar pedals?

  • really good test man. makes me wanna buy it.

  • nice test man

  • ....thank you very much

  • Wow, I need one of these!

  • i love that microphomy at the end xD cool pedal

  • Dude, pentatonic scales are powerful, when it comes to guitar. GET OFF THIS THREAD.

  • isuckatscrabble probably sucks at guitar too!

  • apparently u dont just suck at scarbble...hahaha....no? just me?

    ok...

  • So you're calling Stevie Ray Vaughan a minor pentatonic whore too then? Eric clapton? John Frusciante too? Well, I bet you can do it a lot better then:) Douchebag. I mean come on, do you really get off by typing these comments?

  • you owned him. just pointing that out.

  • and Russell Lissack from Bloc Party uses 2 ps-5's

  • are you running the pedals in the signal path or the effects loop.

  • I used it just in the signal path

  • damn this is on a single coil setting too bad he's not using a rhoads, ml or les paul. Then you could really hear this motherfucker's sound.

  • i want this pedal!!! but it is very expensive... :(

  • i just bought one from ebay just for 85 euros.i think its costs about 188 euros brand new.its the best shift box ever

  • I'm still going to get one of these too.

Too bad they're so fckn expensive!

It's just a bitch most pedals ever are only with 1 setting at a time.

I'm not going to reset every pedal I have only 1 of every time on stage.

Not even at home, skrew dat... :P

It's just really annoying, they should create more pedals with memories or just multiple pedals like Boss' twin-pedals.

Or take EXAMPLE of Line 6 their stompboxes, but then without the flaws...

  • Yeah i agree with that. This is my new account (im the one playing in the vid). A twin pedal with memories would be a great idea for this pedal.

  • Yes, or at least make it so that the pedals can accept an expansion-pedal or something.

Like for example a simple jack in the back or side for another on/off-pedal to add a second setting.

    Something like that...

Similar to pedals that for example accept an expression-pedal for expansion.

  • 0.44 such nice tone, how much was it. Can you comment back on my page. the 0.44 is like the tone the scorpions had on rock you like a hurricane

  • dude, its just harmonized in a third

  • yea everyone says o ge the whammy pedal instead but it cant harmonize or act like a twelve string can it?

  • i want one!

  • That isthe best pedal ever- i have one its amazinggg

  • they rock

    ive got vem

  • i was going to get one of these but i got a whammy pedal instead

but still this is a great pedal

  • That's a really amazing and helpful video, thanks, I will definitely buy this pedal now!

  • Thanks I appreciate that

  • hey! I was wanting a digitech whammy pedal for my birthday (today) and i wanted to know if this boss pedal offers the same flexibility as the digitech. Can you sustain notes between 'pushed down' and not pushed? In other words, how does it compare to the sort of rotation on a digitech? I'm sorry if you don't get the question... =P

  • Can you sustain notes between 'pushed down' and not pushed?.. You can connect an expression pedal, then you sort of have a whammy pedal:)! But I'm not if this answers your question...

  • Thanks for trying to answer. I went and bought a digitech anyway though. cheers.

  • yea whammy sounds cooler than this pitch shifter

  • thats an AWESOME video.. thanks man

  • i need tht pedal its fuckin amazing and its a better deal then the whammy and prolly easier to use

  • ey! nice touch dude!

  • 1:02 - 1:15 Awesome!

  • nice demo dude

    cheers :)
