  • what setting did you use to film this other than motion jpg? the dial was turned to where? :)

  • @jbr230

Most of the time I had it on iA setting where I didn't have to worry about anything at all. Since I do not like flash, I used 'P" setting indoors to keep it from popping up.

  • @jbr230 there is an underwater setting on the camera under scenes specifically for underwater video and stills.

  • @redw22

    Thanks!

Yes, I did see the setting...but while I was snorkeling I was so exicted that I forgot all about it.

Next time I will rememeber it, though.

  • @mikayom Haha that's hilarious! I love the camera too you get carried away. What color did you get?

  • @redw22

I got the boring gray. I wanted the orange one but wasn't available when I bought it.

  • @mikayom cool, but you know what they say, its not what the camera looks like that matters, but what kind of pictures it takes. I think thats why SLR's are so grotesque lol

  • @redw22

It is true, I just watched a short movie taken with iPhone camera and it was brilliant. I also have DSLR, too, so I know that it's not the camera that's grotesque but the lack skill to use it properly....I need to get trained!

  • hey!! wich is the name of the first song? i like it its funny...

  • @MrEgoyst

It's Te Fuiste para Cancún by Gil Rivera y su Grupo Gitano. Glad you liked it! Even though I don't understand what he's singing about other than something about Cancun, it sounded perfect.

  • excellent stuff! how is the camera? still works ok? did you go deeper then 10 feet...i think that is thelimit...?

  • @redvan2000

    @redvan2000

Thanks for the comment. It's still working. On our next vacation, we are planning to take 2 of these. Just in case...

No, we've never taken it below 10 feet...I used it for snorkeling basically and around the beach.

  • i saw a whale a 1:10!! NICE CAMERA

  • @wink20110

    I just about pissed myself....haha

  • I took s lot of pictures and movies around the hotel at night and inside the dimly lit restaurants and it worked quite well. It does have a pretty bright lens for the price.

  • I went to Sabah, Malaysia and took some underwater footage as well, but there werent many reef around, there were many fish tho, thanx for sharing! I shall upload my footage very soon~

  • I'm buying one of these for my trip to the Bahamas this summer (can't wait to take it snorkeling). Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for the comment. I am sure that you will love using this camera in or out of water.

    Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the vid. The place is very beautiful and the quality of the video is very good. I'm gonna get this camera next week. =)

  • Thanks for the comment. You won't regret it. As a matter of fact, we may get another one just like this as a spare.

  • nice demo on the camera. I noticed that everywhere around me like Best Buy, Wolf Camera, Etc. Does not carry these. Where did you purchase yours at?

  • definitely the best video I've seen from the dmc-ts1. thanks for uploading. I think im gonna order one next week

  • Thanks for the comment! I have Sanyo xacti HD but this dmc-ts1 is way better. So small to carry around, too.

  • did the picture quality look nice or only the video shooting?

    i like this musicc

  • Thank you for your comment!

Still photos were great, too. (In my opinion it was better than Canon D10 underwater camera. I bought that one first and returned it.) But I was impressed with video quality more. It has motion jpeg or AVCHD option and this was in motion jpeg. I believe AVCHD is better.

As far as the still photos go it tended to overexpose under bright condition. I tried different setting but it doesn't have manual mode so you can't control too much.

  • Greetings from cancun !!!

    Nice beaches eh?

  • Thanks! Yes, it was unbelievable and unreal! Can't wait to go back.

  • So you prefer this one to the Canon D10? Can you compare them a little please?

  • Canon D10's colors were too fake. They weren't as sharp as I wanted them. I prefer 'realistic' colors of Panasonic cameras. When I bought it I took several photos inside and immediately knew that it wasn't what I wanted. It was a bit fuzzy. Plus their movie mode wasn't as nice as the one that came with TS1. Canon's higher end cameras are nice but their cheaper cameras are not worth even 300 dollars.

I bought both from Amazon and was able to return Canon right away...so glad I was able to.

  • Which format did you originally record the videos (used to make this video) in? AVCHD Lite or motion JPEG?

Seems like a great Camera. I have a Lumix FX150 and I am thinking about buying a TS1 when I decide to get a new camera.

  • I recorded in Motion JPEG mode (MOV files). It's a bit easier to handle.

Too bad I still can't figure out how to keep the original quality of the movie intact. Right out of the camera, they look so great then after I wrap them up with whatever the software I have to upload to YouTube, they don't look as good....

I also have Sanyo Xacti HD1010 which records video in 1080, but this camera produces a lot better movie than that one.

  • Any time you upload to YouTube, the videos lose some quality. Thatnks for your response. I got my TS1 two days ago and I have had a lot of fun with it. I really like that it allows to film in HD in JPEG format, and that you can use the zoom while filming.
