  • Hi, plz tell me its good for kept beer longer in plastic bottle

  • Thanks for the tip about the spigots. I agree that BB costs an arm and a leg, especially for those who have 4-10 BB's, its just not an option to buy their expensive spigots. Have you ever tried drilling your own port and using a DIY spigot?

It would be great to do a quick 2-3 week beer in this and spend only 1/2 hr to transfer to keg then clean it out and store.

  • @88BeautifulGirls Haven't tried that yet, but if you have please share some tips! Cheers!

  • I got a plastic fermentor bucket with a spigot I can't get it to stop leaking though. I hope I figure it out soon cause I really want to start brewing my own beer!!

Double check how you're attaching the different washers and spigot and make sure you're following the directions in putting them together in precisely the right order. I had this problem too only to discover I had some rings on the outside that were supposed to be on the inside.

    Cheers!

  • I've found that fermenters with spigot's leak, which is why I avoid them.

I've been using two 6-gallon Better Bottle plastic carboys with spigots for a few years now and haven't had a problem with any leaking. I think it all depends on the quality of the type you buy, and it's very important that they come with teflon washers and rubber gaskets to get a nice tight seal.

  • Thanks, this is a big help, finding the right equipment can be a real pain if you don't know what you're doing.
