Since most of us don't own an all tube bass amp, I'd like to hear it through a solid state amp. The amp adds soo much to the tone that I think a lot of these folks that are commenting on how great the basses are getting fooled a bit. The warmth and drive that tubes add is obviously not coming from the bass.

is it a jazz bass 1975 or 1962????

It is the 62 style, though the SX Basses all have the 70's style pickup spacing IIRC.

Wow, I was not expecting that tone out of that bass. That has a VERY nice slap tone for $89 :-)

Actually, there was a decent amount of light - my camera is going bad.

Of course the lack of light helps you concentrate more on the "sound" and less on the "look". :^)

How'd you EQ your sound for the slapping?

I just bumped up the low end a bit. This amp only has "High" and "Low" controls. Pretty simple vintage tube amp.
