We just got a shiitzu puppy,she was born on Mother"s Day 2011,today is Aug,3,2011,this is the smartest puppy I have ever had,she already knows how to sit,lay,she is using puppy pad"s,and learning how to shake your hand,I(m going to teach her how to drive my Corvette.

His barking drive's me potty at times but he only barks at home never when we are out on our walks; his list is endless, cats, dogs, birds, planes, motorbikes, cyclists, binmen, postman etc...all because they have gone past his house! he really does think he's a tough guy LOL

My Shih Tzu is so protective. They were bred to alert their masters of intruders & to be companions. They are the best! If you are interested in a Shih Tzu please consider a rescue group. Many people give them up because they are high maintenance in regards to their coat. Lots of grooming.

You are exactly right he is trying to show you who is boss. We have a shih tzu and she was the same way at that age. We weren't sure then, but now we know. She is a mess and so intelligent. I think your baby will be intelligent too. We had her potty trained in no time.
