  • if you use anti lag for launch, does it still harm the turbo? and can you disable it when you're driving the car?

  • wow..the exhaust smoke is black..and is that E3 use Diesel? xD

  • @Guestbboy No diesel, just very rich as the entire combustion ends up in the exhaust.

  • @foxboy3973 I just learned something. :)

  • i want my evo 3 to do that. how do i get it to do that

  • what does it have to do with launch control? i don't get it, in every video you can see "launch control" near the als word....als and lauch control are 2 totally different things, one is for making your "launch" easier and faster and als is for avoiding the lag between gears

  • @NSRacerMods Yes, the launch control makes your launch easier but if you don't have the anti-lag ignition retard enabled then you only have about 0.5-0.6bar of boost developing when stationary on the start line. WIth the anti-lag enabled as well you can generate well beyond 1.5 bar of boost stationary and therefore give you an even better launch.

  • So how does that actually work? What causes the popping?

  • @deftone The popping is caused by retarding the ignition when the launch control is active. This means that the spark plug fires when the exhaust valve is starting to open and so rather than the fuel combusting in the cylinder as per normal, part of it starts to combust in the manifold and turbo and this is what causes the pops/bangs and flames

  • @foxyboy3973 thank you for the info sir!

  • Hi there, im about to get my evo2 ecu remapped and lunch control added. My tuner has the code for the launch control.

just wondering is this all thats on your at the moment? or is it running anti lag as well as the launch control?

if you could message me that would be great.

    thanks

    Andrew

  • @groov33 i dont think evo2's come with the proper hardware for anti-lag, evo3's needed software to control the system, which wasnt included in stock trim. finding the software is easy, many jdm and aussie performance shops can help with that. oops i just noticed u didn't say anything about anti-lag, just launch control... my bad.

  • well mine is booked in for about 4 weeks or so for retune and launch control. if its any goodwill make a vid as well :D

  • Its running igntion retard alongside the launch control so it develops about 1.4 bar stationary

  • mud.were was tha launch?

  • awesome fella

  • nice sound

  • i had antilag/launch control and i'd get 10psi boost free reving running gt35/40

even thos i ran a differant ecu i'm curious how you did it with the stock ecu?

    i'm quite curious, cheers

  • how did you do that using a stock ecu?????

  • By disassembling and re-writing one part of the original code

  • Well i drive an evo 6 tme and would like to get the trick if that's possible ... how can i get in touch with u ...

  • The only way to do it currently on an Evo 4/5/6 is to get an Ecutek remap carried out as the software for allowing the code to be accessed hasn't been fully developed yet.

  • thats it?

  • Stop messing around and get some tyres that work in the wet;-)

  • Nice work Andy :-)

    Thacko

  • Crazy...
