  • I have 5 episodes of this I placed on to DVD with many other kids programs from this era. interested e mail me at markshacks@aol.com

  • Bossy cushion!

  • Apologies, it was Dusty Mop :)

  • Yes, it was definitely the 70's and i adored Humphrey Cushion and Brian the Mop who was a bit crackers! lol

  • hmm i see jill has dirt under her fingers lol

  • Where the hell did you get this clip? I remember this show but I am sure it was more of a 70's show. I haven't seen this since around 1973-74ish - I was only around 7 or 8. Thank you so much for this. Reminds me and others how privelaged we were to be growing up in the 1970s. We still had the great outdoors, but we also had some of the most compelling and creative children's tv of all time. There will never be another decade to match this, for the sheer abundance of ideas in tv and music.

  • i could murder a banana

  • I thought Humphrey was creepy

  • i loved humphrey cushion lol

  • Yup, deffo seventies. Probably 78-ish.

  • I genuinely used to wake up screaming from nightmares about Humphrey Cushion as a child. It's still the amongst the most sinster things I've ever seen. Who came up with the idea of a cushion with some kind of crazy penis-snout face?! No wonder I'm so messed up.

  • i know someone who looks like humphrey cushion too. lol

  • Humphrey Cushion. Legend! I grew up with all this stuff. Still brings a lump to my throat! And Louise Hall-Taylor. A MILF before MILFs were even invented! Good Times!!

  • That cushion demon terrified me as well. And that raggety stick thing Rupert knocked about with. :-)

  • i used to love this show but cud never remember wat it was called i am sooooo happy now i loved humphrey

  • look at Humphrey's nose..."ribbed for her pleasure".

  • used to have a girl in my school who looked just like humphrey cushion, didn't call her humphrey cushion behind her back... or did we? lol

  • i bet louise liked sitting on humphrey (dildo nose) ahh those days of lost innocence or is it lost days of innocence

  • Louise Hall-Taylor.... PHWOAR!!

  • That cushion is the only thing in my life that scared me. Give me ghosts anytime

  • Humphrey the cushion. If ever a puppet should be burned, it`s this one. Scary git scarred my childhood

  • I totally agree PeetNefyn I hated it when the programme began as IT would be flat on the back of the sofa and then sit up and wave and say "Hello I'm Humphrey Cushion" I did start to think as an adult I had imagined it all. There must have been some tripped out producers in the 70's to create that!!

  • Humphrey fucking Cushion!

Sure I'd imagined it until seeing this hahahaha (as donna says)

  • Thank god you posted this - I was starting to think I'd imagined the series cos noone I've spoken to remembers it!!

Yay - Humphrey Cushion DID exist (well, I realise he wasn't actually REAL - I'm not completely mad you understand!?)

  • @pixiejayne im glad im not the only one who remebers it this has made me so happy

  • the talking cushion! this must be way back around 1974? crikey I'm getting on a bit.

  • Fantastic.

    I remember this very well too.EVERYONE i ask about this cannot remember it.Which IS a shame.Definetley a 70's programme

Most importantly .....THANKS for sharing and brining back lot's of happy memories

  • Just plain fab, used to watch this on a lunchtime defo in the 70's.

  • How can it be a 1980s programme when it ended in 1979?

  • woooooo Humphrey Cushion!!!! Loved this show lol...defo in the 70's

  • This is a program I would watch in the 1970's when I was growing up. As khogey commented, people don't seem to remember this program and they think I mean hectors house.

  • i used to watch this with my mom... if only she was still alive and i could shown her it again.:(

  • gotta be around 74 or 75, brilliant!!

    Thanks for posting

  • No, this was from the 70's not 80's...

  • Brilliant, everyone thought I was mad when I told them there used to be a programme with a talking cushion who looked a bit dog like! Now I can prove it!!!

  • Long time no see. Once again thanks for taking the trouble to share this with the rest of us 40 somethings. I'd forgotten Humphrey Cushion was so posh and proper.

  • I have always loved Hickory House. Thanks mate for bringing back so many memories.
