  • Incredible! There were three mesmerizing singing stars of the 1900s, Pola, Zarah and Piaf. One cannot get enough of Pola, her songs every time open up to new horizons, new soulbreaking insights, new moments of intense, lingering emotions. I almost can't wait to get to the next world and maybe submerge myself in the latest recordings of Pola, maybe even attend an evening of her songs, maybe even be permitted backstage and throw myself at her feet with a ton of orchids! Pola For Ever!

  • I wanted to hear Pola Negri sing again. Thank you for posting this nice clip!

  • When the song ends, the king(The man sitting in front) says to her....I want to hear the missing words. lol

I think this is MUCH sexier than today's stuff. Everything now is too over-done.

  • Can you imagine how surprised audiences of 1931 were, when they heard this silent screen siren sing like this?... WOW!!... (Born too late!)

  • @ClarasBeau Yes I agree, but surprisingly Pola's career was on it's way out,due to sound. I, for one, think her voice is charming and it suits her.

  • fine song Polita!

    Thanks for posting!

    Aloha from Hawaii!
