Attention!! If anyone has the FM-DP1 preamp, PLEASE post a review of it! I have one on the way, and I am scared to death about it not being the type of sound I want, or not having enough clarity at higher gain or being muddy or too "spongey"..........I absolutely NEEDED to order SOME kind of pre for my Hammond conversion because it is bare bones and has 18 watts of clean power, so I decided a simple PTP amp deserves a simple PTP preamp, but I am so scared. I'm just picky about crunch.
I read on the gear page that you sold this and bought a Twin Plexi. Could you upload some clips? Preferably with some crunchy power chords (on the Marshall side) and some clean jazzy stuff (on the Fender side) I'm still waiting for my 40 watt version to arrive. Thanks.
Thanks! Lots of people don't like the fretboard radii on these things, but it suits me fine! I also switched the stock tremolo out for a Callaham. Made a pretty big difference...

Nice tone. Sounds better when cranked, even with a
Strat.

Waow, awesome man. I will have my Fender Black Strat '50 mexican with black pickguard (and Fender custom shop '54 pickups) soon !! :D
alexstrat 4 years ago
Yes, it does. It's different from the M channel drive, though. More Fenderish... If you crank it there's actually a surprising amount of dirt on tap.

Does the F channel get any drive when cranked?

Are you using any effects here? Sounds like a little verb and delay or is it just me?
fendervox 5 years ago
Hey fendervox, it wasn't just you! I had a little bit of delay going from a Boss DD-5.

That is one nice clean tone!

Thanks! I think the Fender Custom Shop '54 pickups have a lot to do with it, too.

Crank it up man! I wanna hear some crunch!

If you're looking for crunch, I have another video of the amp set on the M channel and with a Les Paul. Plenty of crunch for me!
