Back in 1997 or 1998, I tried to get my hands on this CD, but basically got ripped off by an online music retailer who had pretended as though they had this CD in stock. Ah, the primitive days of the Internet, I tell you.
The Internet has modernized & has become much more of a resource for rare gems like this. This is everything I expected & more. Thanks for uploading!
Just to kick some truth. Michael Dickerson was the most talented singer of this group. I just wished you guys would have signed with Capitol/Bust It records instead of Otis. Mike if you ever read this post I need a copy of that "Money Woman" track.
i love these guys. they were actually formed by the temptations find out if the lead singer was good enough to replace otis williams. a real shame though, these guys were great.
They were formed by two of the Temptations, but not to see if they could replace Otis, or any of the Tempts. Terry did in fact join the Temptations later, as a replacement for Ali Woodson, but that was not his original reason for working with Otis and Melvin.
Terry is absolutely breathtakingly soulful on this joint. Can't get enough and every time I listen to him it's like I hear a little Donny mixed with a little Peabo slipping on through. It'd be awesome to hear him sing something with Lala. Can't you imagine them two singing ANYTHING together?

Even though he's Ron Tyson's godson and has a voice it doesn't fit. Could it be that the other cats don't want to work with Otis again--ever? He's had the best of the best and blown it time after time. This time he's clean missed the side of the barn. Sad!

Thats true TeenTemps, people get confused now though, because terry sings the parts Richard used too, and theo's replacements have sung the majority of the leads. What people don't realize is that when Terry joined, he was singing lead on almost EVERYTHING. Papa, Rain, Treat. He is one Hell of a singer.
well I can't disagree with you about Terry or GC, I love them both. However Bruce Williamson, GC's replacement, is one of my favorite tempts. He handles rough, fast, shouty leads like no other, and really puts energy into every song when you see them live. His work on there latest release Back to Front is awesome too.
GC was FANTASTIC lead on ballads and did the other songs well too. Bruce shines on the fast songs, like Cant Get Next, Papa, Witness, Ain't to Proud, and Hold on I'm Comin.
I respect your opinion. Just because I don't like BW's singing does not mean no one should. What you like about his singing is what I disliked. His shouty delivery and the timbre of his voice does not appeal to me. For me, it does not get any better than the singing on Legacy.
funny you should say that, because I LOVE Legacy, its one of my favorite temps albums of all time, and should have been a smash, motown really dropped the ball on that one.

but yeah everyone has there tastes and the temps usually have something to appeal to everyone. They've still got Terry, and I know you like him.
